Upon getting there, I found Victoria arranging a feast on the table, while Alexander sat at the table, his whole attention focused on the tablet in his hands.
Victoria was the first to notice me.
"Good morning, ma'am. How was your night?" She asked, her face beaming with her usual beautiful smile.
I nodded in response, nervously avoiding her gaze. I still wasn't very comfortable with her yet, and now that I was facing her so soon after last night made my cheek burn with embarrassment. I wished that the ground would open and swallow me. How could I have been so open with someone I barely knew? What got into my head?
"Alright, I will leave you both alone now," she said, grabbing the food basket.
As she walked past me, she smiled and nodded her head at me, as if to reassure me, then walked out.
As soon as the door closed, I drew my attention back to Alexander. He was still focusing on his tablet, as if I was mere thin air.
