Chapter 130 - CHAPTER 130

Fate

Well, Shirō certainly wouldn't call Kakashi "White Hair." After all, Sakumo's hair was also white, so he only thought that in his heart.

"Shirō-nii? Why are you here?" Although he still had questions, Kakashi still walked toward him.

"I was just training. I had nothing to do, so I accompanied a friend to pick up his kid, and I happened to see you."

"'Happened to'? That sounds careless."

"Hahaha, don't mind it. Oh, you probably don't know yet—this is Kakashi, my master's son. I remember Sakumo-sensei mentioned him, right?"

"Yes," Guy nodded, eyes gleaming. "But I didn't expect you two to know each other. Why didn't you say so earlier?"

"…" Shirō paused, then waved it off. "Don't sweat the details."

"Sure enough, you just forgot," Kakashi muttered, but then bowed slightly. "Hello, Uncle Might."

"Hahaha! No need for such formality! This is youth, Kakashi!"

"Ah! Old man! Burn with youth!" Guy shouted, fists clenched, practically vibrating with energy.

"…"

Shirō and Kakashi exchanged glances. Better to ignore the father-son duo before their own dignity got dragged into it.

To break the mood, Shirō gestured toward a small group nearby.

"Kakashi, aren't those your classmates? Why don't you call them over?"

"What's there to talk about? In a few days, I'll be—" Before Kakashi finished, Shirō suddenly raised his voice.

"Hey! You there, the girl with the face markings—yes, you! Kakashi's calling you."

"Hey! What are you doing?!" Kakashi spun toward him in alarm.

"Helping you."

"Help me with what? I don't even like her."

Kakashi froze when Shirō gave him a strange look.

"Tsk. You're young but your mind's already wandering. Who said I wanted to set you two up? Didn't you notice the kid with glasses behind her? He clearly likes her. If you draw them in, you'll gain two friends."

Kakashi frowned. "Is that so? But what's the point? I'll be graduating soon."

"We'll talk about graduation later. For now, just make friends."

The girl approached shyly. "Um… may I ask who you are?"

"Oh, I'm Emiya Shirō. This kid's senior. I saw you knew each other, so I called you over. How about we all eat together later?"

Kakashi slapped his hand off his head. "Eat? Seriously?"

"Sure, it'll be more fun with more people."

"Is that alright?" Rin Nohara asked, hesitant.

Shirō smiled. "It's fine. Think of it as a welcome from me." He gave Kakashi a pat. "Your turn."

Kakashi sighed. "This is my senior, Emiya Shirō. Don't mind him, he gets these… moods. But if we don't go, he'll keep pestering us."

"Then… alright. Big Brother Emiya, my name is Rin Nohara. Please take care of me."

"Just call me Shirō, otherwise it feels like you're calling my father. And you—Obito, right? Want to come along?"

Obito blinked. "Huh, you know me?"

"Of course. The Uchiha clan's number-one troublemaker. Your reputation isn't small."

"Wha—?! Who are you calling a troublemaker?!"

"Hahaha, relax. So? Are you coming?"

"Tch… fine, I'll go." He sneaked a glance at Rin, pretending not to care.

"What about you, Shirō?" Kakashi asked, noticing he was still looking around.

"Yes, I'm waiting for someone. Not a friend. I'll point him out later. If he's the type, I want you to give him some trouble."

Naturally, Shirō was thinking of the suspicious ninja he'd noticed earlier.

But when he asked, Kakashi only said, "That guy? In school he's polite, well-behaved. Doesn't cause problems."

"…Is that so? Then forget it. Let's just eat yakiniku instead."

"That's so random. But fine… I don't have money."

"Don't worry, I'll cover it."

"Then I'm in."

"Me too," Rin said softly.

Obito nodded quickly. "Yeah, me too!"

"Hahaha! Then let's burn our youth for Shirō!" Might Guy shouted, fists blazing with passion.

"Yes! Old man!"

"…What are they doing?" Rin asked, her voice small.

"Don't mind them," Shirō said with a sigh. "They're always like that."

With that, the group headed toward the barbecue restaurant. Rin regretted it almost instantly—between Guy's volume and Obito's antics, she felt like she'd boarded a pirate ship she couldn't escape. Still, she stayed quiet, unwilling to embarrass Guy and his father.

At the restaurant, after some time eating, Shirō suddenly asked:

"By the way, how is Kakashi doing in school?"

"Very good!" Obito shot up straight. "Just a little worse than me!"

"Tch, dead last," Kakashi retorted without looking at him.

"What did you say?!"

"Obito!" Rin quickly scolded. Then she turned to Shirō with a polite smile. "Big Brother Shirō, don't mind them. Obito's just being noisy. Kakashi is the top of our class."

Obito opened his mouth to argue, but Rin's words silenced him. For Rin's sake, he sat down—grumbling to himself that a true Uchiha simp knew when to retreat.

Shirō chuckled. "Don't worry, I wasn't asking about strength. On that point, I already trust him. I meant friends—especially girl friends."

"Hey! Too much!" Kakashi snapped. "You don't have any either!"

"That's because I don't want any. Otherwise, I'd have already leapt over."

"…I don't know what leaping has to do with it," Rin said carefully, "but Kakashi doesn't seem interested in any girls. We're all still young, after all."

"He doesn't? Then you'll have to work harder, Rin."

Her cheeks pinked immediately. Obito nearly choked on his meat.
