— Day 2 of the Chūnin Exam —
One of Kakashi's clones had gone to inform Anko and Hiruzen about Orochimaru, while the second went to Team 7 disguised as the Sannin.
The third and final clone was hidden at the top of a giant tree in the Forest of Death. Using the Chakra Suppression Technique to completely hide his chakra, he kept an eye on Team Oboro, an Amegakure Genin team.
'The one in the center is Orochimaru. I hope he just stays here until my plan for Sasuke's Sharingan is complete.' he thought, as he watched the three Genin.
Two were wearing masks, hiding their faces. The one in the center was tall, pale skin, wore a circular hat, and was the one he recognized as Orochimaru.
Orochimaru, in his disguise, was moving stealthily toward Team 7's location. With each passing minute, Kakashi grew more impatient; his job was to keep the Snake Sannin at bay.
The distance was still considerable, but Orochimaru's speed, along with his men, was quite fast, making it hard for Kakashi to keep up without using the Body Flicker Technique or other chakra techniques.
"Just how long will it take for Anko and Hiruzen to arrive?" he mused aloud from his hiding spot. "Should I remove the Chakra Suppression Seal and directly attack him?"
Swish!
Just as he was contemplating, three figures flickered and landed in front of Team Oboro. Anko was there, with a sharp look and palpable anger on her face. The chūnin Mozuku and Shinobu Mibu stood beside her, their swords ready for a fight.
"Is there something the matter, miss proctor?" Orochimaru, in the disguise of Oboro, asked calmly.
"Orochimaru! What are you doing here?!" Anko's voice was filled with a leaking killing intent.
But without waiting for any response, she immediately flickered in front of the Sannin and extended her left arm toward him. She summoned several snakes from under her sleeve, deploying them directly at Orochimaru.
Whoosh!
Orochimaru was taken aback, but he instantly grabbed his man on his left, putting him in front of himself, and stepped back.
"Aaaarrrghhh!" The snakes instantly and continuously bit the man to death. Orochimaru watched his man die without emotion, but then a flicker of surprise appeared in his gaze as he looked at Anko.
"How did you figure it out? It seems my little Anko has grown strong!" As he spoke, he turned, and a thick wall of earth erupted from the ground, blocking an incoming Raikiri Spear. Kakashi's clone, seeing Anko and the two chūnin had arrived, decided to join them as well, considering it the right time.
"Seems like my cover is up!" Orochimaru hissed, his eyes narrowing as he looked at Anko and Kakashi back and forth.
"Yeah, your cover is up. The Third Hokage will be coming as well," Anko smirked, transforming her left snake arm back to normal.
"Why have you come alone with two chūnin from your department? Why not with the Third Hokage and ANBU?" Kakashi asked, landing beside Anko.
He kept his sharp eye on Orochimaru, removing his forehead protector to reveal his crimson Sharingan with three tomoe, staring at the Snake Sannin.
"Ahem..." Anko coughed, embarrassed. She did not respond or even glance at Kakashi.
Kakashi however sighed, understanding that Anko probably had come on her own after hearing about Orochimaru's presence from his Shadow Clone.
In the meantime, Mozuku and Shinobu had taken care of Orochimaru's other man, leaving him surrounded from two directions— Kakashi and Anko in the front, and Mozuku and Shinobu Mibu in the back.
"You think you can defeat me all alone?" Orochimaru asked, hissing with a smirk.
"We're more than enough to keep you at bay until your Sensei personally takes care of you," Kakashi stated simply.
"Fire Release : Dragon Fire Technique!"
As Kakashi was speaking, Anko quickly weaved a series of hand signs and spat out dragon-shaped flames from her mouth.
"Water Formation Wall!"
Orochimaru also instantly formed a water wall around himself without weaving a single handsign. Mozuku and Shinobu coated their swords with chakra and attempted to break the water wall.
"Earth Release : Hiding Like a Mole Technique!" Orochimaru instantly dug through the earth, appearing behind them.
"MOZUKU, SHINOBU, STEP BACK!" Anko screamed to warn them.
Slash!
However, Orochimaru was too fast. He took out a sword crackling with yellow lightning and slashed behind them, knocking them out with a single lightning-shot attack each, leaving them down with blood sprout from their backs. Anko glared at him while Kakashi eyed the sword in Orochimaru's hand suspiciously.
'This doesn't seem to be the same Kusanagi Sword Orochimaru usually uses. What is this one?' Kakashi thought for a moment but couldn't recall anything properly. He shrugged and instantly flickered behind Orochimaru.
"Raikiri!" Kakashi formed Raikiri in his hand and slashed it toward Orochimaru's heart.
Swish!
Orochimaru was equally fast, slashing and cutting through Raikiri without breaking a sweat.
"SWORD OF THE THUNDER GOD?!" Anko gasped as she realized what the glowing yellow blade in Orochimaru's hand was— one that could even cut through an S-rank jutsu.
"Huh? This is the Second Hokage's sword? Yeah, it indeed seems to be that one." Kakashi said, stepping back. He quickly picked up the injured Mozuku and Shinobu and recognized the sword himself.
'How did he get his hands on this? Wasn't it supposed to be in the hands of Aoi Rokushō?'
"Hehehehe..." Orochimaru laughed maniacally at Anko's mix of surprised and angry looks.

"All done."
In the underground room of the Hokage's Residence, a large scroll was unrolled on the table. Kakashi's first clone, after scanning and copying each technique inside the Scroll of Seals with his Sharingan, nodded in approval.
"There's no Flying Thunder God Jutsu here, but the others are present. It seems Hiruzen has hidden that one somewhere else," he mused. "But then again, why did he leave Edo Tensei Jutsu still here?"
He simply shrugged, "Well, whatever, my job is done here."
Poof!
After rolling the scroll back up, placing it on its shelf, and erasing any traces of his presence, he immediately vanished in a puff of smoke.
