Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Hidden Truth

Rudra and Eira walked back to the village, their footsteps echoing through the stillness. The villagers, relieved that the creatures had been vanquished, began to emerge from their homes, curious about the commotion.

As they approached the village center, Rudra noticed a figure standing off to the side, watching them with an intense gaze.

It was the village elder, his eyes gleaming with a knowing light.

Rudra felt a shiver run down his spine. What did the elder know?

Eira seemed to sense his unease. She placed a reassuring hand on his arm.

"Don't worry," she whispered. "I'm here for you."

Rudra nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude toward Eira.

As they approached the elder, he nodded in greeting.

"Rudra, Eira," he said, his voice low and gravelly. "I see you've returned."

Rudra nodded, his eyes locked on the elder's.

"We defeated the creatures," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

The elder nodded, a small smile playing on his lips.

"I knew you would," he said. "You have the heart of a warrior."

Rudra felt a surge of pride at the elder's words.

But Eira's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing.

"There's something you're not telling us, elder," she said, her voice firm.

The elder's smile grew wider.

"Ah, Eira," he said. "You are perceptive, as always."

Rudra's eyes locked on the elder's, his mind racing with questions.

What did the elder know?

What secrets was he hiding?

The elder took a deep breath, his eyes glinting with a knowing light.

"The truth, Rudra," he said, "is that you are not who you think you are."

Rudra's heart skipped a beat.

What did the elder mean?

He felt Eira's hand on his arm, her grip tightening.

"What do you mean, elder?" she asked, her voice firm.

The elder's smile grew wider.

"Rudra, you are not just a village boy," he said. "You are the last living heir of the ancient bloodline."

Rudra's mind reeled as the elder's words hung in the air.

What did it mean?

And what lay ahead for him?
