Chapter 148 - The Prisoner of Etna

After their chat Aaric and Ra moved from the private chambers to the dining hall where the others were waiting. The atmosphere in the castle was lighter now that the weight of the eternal war had been lifted from the Sun God's shoulders.

"I noticed something back there. You had some divine flowers in that incubator of yours did you not? Don't they possess memories as well?" Aaric asked on the way down the corridor.

"That is precisely what the white flame wisp is for." Ra answered with a nonchalant shrug.

They reached the dining hall just as the girls and Taweret were chatting and pampering Chaya.

"It seems what you were here for is done. You all can leave my domain now," Ra stated with a dismissive wave of his hand though there was no real heat in his voice.

"Grumpy old man," Daphne muttered under her breath as they all got up.

The group bowed respectfully to Ra except for Daphne who simply crossed her arms. They were then given gentle motherly pats on their cheeks by Taweret as she bade them goodbye.

Ra ignored the lack of a bow from the blonde Slytherin and beckoned Daphne over. He reached into his robes and handed her a pouch filled with high-quality Divine seeds and flowers as a gift.

He then flicked her forehead hard enough to leave a red mark and told her to get out in the very next sentence.

"Let's go guys. That old guy is definitely bipolar," Daphne muttered rubbing her forehead as they exited the castle and moved to the deck of the solar ship they had arrived on.

"Well where to next?" Luna asked Aaric, looking up at him.

"I will contact Mum and Dad before we go to Olympia," Aaric said. He felt a weight around his neck and reached up to find Chaya coiled there.

"Were you acting grumpy with me earlier because I was coming to the Dreamlands without you?" Aaric whispered to Chaya as she nuzzled against him being affectionate for the first time in a while.

Chaya just hissed softly and nudged his cheek with her snout getting a chuckle and a kiss on the head from Aaric.

Meanwhile Fleur had walked to the edge of the deck and called her phoenix. The silver bird materialized in a flash of while flames and she mounted it with grace.

"I will be exploring on my own for a little bit," Fleur announced getting confused looks from everyone.

"Well wear this and call out to me if you need me." Aaric said and tossed a small silver earring to Fleur.

The Veela caught the jewelry out of the air and accepted the earring with a gentle smile. She nodded once before she and the phoenix vanished in a burst of white flames heading off into the vast unknown of the Dreamlands to find her own path.

Aaric concentrated and contacted his parents in his mind sending a mental signal across the dimensions. Once he felt their acknowledgment he waved a hand and ripped open a portal to Olympia.

"Shall we?" Aaric asked offering his arms.

The girls hugged his arms tightly before they stepped through the portal together.

They arrived in the pristine white courtyards in front of the castle of the Olympian gods. Almost immediately another portal swirled open beside them from which Simon and Edwina exited hand in hand.

"Do you remember the time I told you I have a plan for my Mum's ascension?" Aaric asked them after the initial greetings and hugs were exchanged getting a nod from both of them.

"Well I have done some little changes in the plan and I need your help to execute it," Aaric added looking specifically at Edwina.

"Hm? Of course Dear what should I do?" Edwina asked Aaric as she reached out and patted his cheek lightly.

"Let's go to Lord Hades first and I will explain on the way," Aaric said with a smile of his own. He took his mother's hand and swung it back and forth as they walked with Simon and the girls following behind them.

They found Hades and Persephone in a grand hall. The two deities were chatting about the marriage preparations for Hera.

Well it was mostly Persephone who did most of the talking and planning while Hades just nodded along and hummed from time to time looking for any excuse to escape the logistical nightmare.

"Sorry to interrupt but may I have a moment?" Aaric started speaking as he scratched his cheek a little.

"Of course," Hades answered in a heartbeat with a firm nod and a look of desperate hope in his eyes.

"Sorry My Love. I will be with you as soon as I can be," Hades added quickly and kissed Persephone's cheek before practically running towards Aaric.

Persephone shook her head with a wry knowing smile and waved at Edwina as Hades and Aaric chatted.

"Well do you remember Typhon?" Aaric asked Hades getting a serious nod from the God.

"I just need to visit him with Mum and when we return he won't be your problem anymore," Aaric added casually as if giving Hades a deal of a lifetime.

"I need a detailed explanation," Hades asked him seriously his demeanor more curious now.

Aaric nodded and told Hades what he was up to the previous day in detail.

However he highly toned down the danger involved and did not mention himself passing out or bleeding from his eyes to avoid worrying his parents or the girls again.

"And that is how I have Apophis in my pocket," Aaric ended the explanation with a grin.

Luna and Daphne just looked at each other knowing the full truth while Simon Edwina and Hades took a moment to digest the information.

"So you have absorbed Apophis," Simon started speaking while pointing a finger at Aaric.

"While you will be absorbing Typhon," Simon added looking at Edwina.

"Well that's good. I can just train and catch up to you with time," Simon concluded with a grin showing no jealousy only pride.

"I told you I have a change of plans," Aaric said with a shake of his head.

"And we need your permission first," Aaric added and looked at Hades who seemed to be deep in thought.

"Well I have no problem with the plan. Typhon is like a calamity waiting to be unleashed and if your plan makes him useful that will be the best of both worlds," Hades said after a moment of contemplation. He turned and started leading them towards a certain direction.

"Are you a hundred percent certain Aaric?" Simon asked him quietly on the way.

"Yes. Mum you should summon Sylvenna into the Dreamlands. She will be of help to you," Aaric said and gestured to Chaya around his neck.

Edwina nodded and concentrated for a moment. A pulse of green energy manifested and a beautiful two-tailed fox appeared seated on Edwina's shoulder.

They reached the base of a volcanic mountain that Hades introduced as Mount Etna.

"He is imprisoned here and Hephaestus also forges below this mountain," Hades said. He waved his hand and a massive crevice formed in the side of the mountain revealing a dark path.

"Well would you mind if only me Mum and Dad entered?" Aaric asked Hades getting a shrug in response.

"Just stay safe," Hades said. He waved his hand again and formed a table and comfortable chairs for himself and the girls to sit on while they waited.

Aaric nodded and kissed Luna and Daphne on the cheeks before he moved towards the crevice followed closely by Simon and Edwina.

"Mum you can merge with Sylvenna. Please do that now," Aaric instructed Edwina on the way down.

Edwina looked at Sylvenna and they seemed to be having a silent conversation.

Sylvenna then turned into motes of emerald light and merged with Edwina.

Her eyes turned a darker shade of green while her hair turned a shimmering silver as the transformation took place.

They arrived at a massive cavern deep within the roots of the mountain when the transformation was completed.

They were greeted by the sight of a winged giant with a snake-like lower half chained with heavy silver chains and impaled by massive golden stakes.

The giant was covered with his own dried blood and was currently unconscious his breathing shallow and ragged.

Aaric signaled to Chaya who slithered down from his neck and moved towards the giant. She bit him sinking her fangs deep and poisoning the giant with her spiritual venom to suppress his consciousness further.

"Mum you should add your own poison to the mix something that will dull his mind further," Aaric instructed.

Edwina nodded and let out a soft breath. A thick green gas exited her mouth and drifted towards the giant coiling around him like a living shroud.

'Connect me with Apophis. I want to use his divine energy,' Aaric commanded in his mind and sensed a connection forming instantly.

He then waved his hand and his silver flame exited his palm. It moved to the giant's face and pried his massive eyelids open.

Aaric glanced at Edwina and nodded placing his hand on her shoulder to channel the divine energy of Apophis into her to overpower Typhon.

The process was underwhelming to say the least.

Even though Typhon was theoretically on Apophis's level he had given up in the million years he was imprisoned. His will had been eroded by eons of confinement.

It did not take much time for his eyes to turn a dull green and he was sucked away stored safely in Edwina's personal dimension.

Aaric collected the spilled blood and the massive golden stakes that were left clattering on the floor after the giant disappeared.

"Well?" Hades asked them when they exited the mountain and returned to the daylight.

"Piece of cake," Aaric said with a grin and a thumbs up.

He then placed a large quantity of Typhon's blood and the golden stakes in front of Hades.

"Do you need any of them?" Aaric asked him.

Hades had told him the golden stakes were the Stakes of Law that had gained strength by feeding on Typhon allowing for his continued imprisonment even as Typhon's strength increased every moment he lived.

"Thank you Aaric," Hades said and took some stakes and a vial of the blood.

Aaric nodded and placed the rest in his separate space satisfied with the day's work.
