Hearing those two people, Reith had a brief sense of understanding of what the Alliance was doing.
Those two men talked about rescuing a person's daughter, but then she was already dead.
It made Reith's skin crawl from the inside, and it was even more frightening that he didn't know the full details of the story.

"What's your name?" Greden asked with a grunt.
"Reith Sorakaze."
This wasn't the name on the card, but Reith simply wanted to be honest.
