King Felix's only child and heir to the Gurliva throne had gone missing for over a decade. Before the Vile War, they said he went to the Essos Ocean and never returned. His unprecedented disappearance drove the old king to partial madness. Not only that, his disappearance also flung Gurliva's throne open for an internal kingship tussle as nobles feigned unreserved loyalty to the old king with the hope that they would stand a chance of succeeding the king in case he dies. Unfortunately for these schemers, the tyrant emperor, whose eyes had the stink of an overlord, besieged the kingdom to set into motion his conquest. The old King Felix fought Arle Craig for two restless years till he mysteriously answered the call of his predecessors from the great beyond. Three days later, Arle Craig conquered Gurliva after Old King Felix's demise. So long, it had been seven sad years that the greatest, last and mystic sovereign kingdom in the whole of Eastern lands fell, and Arle Craig instituted a new leadership called 'Regents' to be in charge of the lands, which the emperor believed was just a step to actualising the prophecy about him. In a barren, dark hermit cave on a mountaintop, homed the Night Elves, referred to as the Ancients. Their skin is reptilian with long, dark nails, blackened teeth, and red, vacant eyes. They spoke simultaneously in the Tharux language to Arle Craig; -
"Sssh.... hear it;
Winged whispers –
There will be no soul left in you.
You will perish
And be wrapped
In visible torrent flames
Of an undying throne
And when you are reborn
You will be a god of the Realms
You shall have
An army of Rayhem,
Immortal soldiers of Xertos' realm
You shall own Dragulf
The terror dragon
For it's your destiny
To sit above all realms, immortal, a god ..aaah .... aaah...aaah"
The Regents leadership is made up of a Regent Commander and Regent Officers. The Regents Commander controls and oversees the leadership affairs in a particular region and reports to Arle Craig who has. The Regent Officers are the council of senators, with each and every one of them holding a particular office and reporting to the Regent Commander, who is their regional leader. Arle Craig divided Gurliva into five different regions. These regions, Gatlem, Furlem, Hidlem, Paulem, and Narlem, are headed by different Regents Commanders whom he conferred with kingship authority. Gatlem was the birthplace of the Old King, Felix. It was the city-state of defunct Gurliva. Gatlem is the heartbeat of Gurliva. Arle Craig gave Gatlem to his son, Tijani, and also made him Lord of the Regents to rule over Gatlem as the autonomous city-state it used to be. The rank of Lord of the Regents supersedes the rank of Regents Commander. Like his father, he became a heartless tyrant, subjecting the good people of Gatlem to unimaginable sufferings. He made slaves out of the weakest and armies out of the strong. The strongest who defied him were put to death in combat in the Coliseum. Two years into his leadership, two noble sons of Gurliva confronted his soldiers when they were making mockery of an old dwarf on the street. They killed the soldiers. When the Lord of the Regents heard about the incident, he arrested the men and put them in the Coliseum to face his beasts. The two men knighted and armed themselves with swords.
"And let the fight begin!"
Two Hurgs were freed from their chains. The Hurg is a huge, double-headed, dark, fearsome beast with torrential eyes, awkward sabertooths and sharp, long claws. One slowly paced left, while the other right, cycling the two men who had their swords well clutched. They stood in the middle of the Coliseum with their backs against each other. The Hurgs growl, their mouths dropping saliva as they carefully smear the two men. At once, the Hurgs leapt at them but missed, and they quickly engaged the Hurgs with swords, which were shattered by their teeth.
"Wow ....Ah ah ah" The crowd cheered, laughed and clapped.
"They are too strong," said the first man.
"We need pikes," said the second man.
"Or arrows" First man
"Cover me up," said the second man.
The second quickly ran to grab pikes and a bow and arrow, while the first man engaged the Hurgs with his shield and dagger.
"Ah ... Ah .. Ah" The crowd laughed at the second who slipped. One of the Hurgs dashed to where he was, tried to slap him with its claws, but he dodged and put a pike through the Hurg's throat. The Hurg fell down dead.
"Ooh!" The crowd exclaimed, and suddenly silence shadowed them.
"Over here, you piece of shit. Yes, come meet your end," Said the second man to the other Hurg. The Hurg turned away from the first man, who was already on the ground, barely struggling not to get eaten.
Yes, come." The Hurg paced slowly, cycling the second man, and suddenly leapt forward. The Hurg had its hands all over the second man but just couldn't penetrate his body as he fought back, and they broke out. The Hurg gave a piloerection shake, its fur fluffy, dark and shining. It growled deeper, longer as it gently sniffed toward the second man. Giving it no time, the first man ran towards it, and it turned, aggressively bringing the first man down; its first claw was dodged, and the second, third, and fourth were shielded, but then the second man jumped on its back and speared it with a pike. The Hurg whimpered before it fell. The second man helped the first man get up on his feet.
"Wow, magnificent. What else can I possibly say to you two?" Said the Lord of the Regents as he applauded them from his seat on the podium, then stood up and moved to the rear front.
"When I thought I had all the strongest men in my army, you two have surprised me. And now, your Lord needs answers. How were you two able to escape my selections all these years?"
"You're not our Lord" The second man spat. His sweaty body was bloodied and still had a bow and arrow in his hand.
"Our Lord and king died years ago, and you know it. Leave our land, you barbarian. Take your corrupt, coerced lordship elsewhere." Added the first man, who had returned a similar eye gesture from the second man.
"Leave your land? It's mine now" The Lord of Regents laughed.
"It's mine. All mine, thwarts. And no one will take it away from me. Absolutely no one" The second man stood still, while the first man approached him.
"Do yourselves a favour. Whose sons are you?" The Lord of the Regents eyebrows knitted, and lips flattened into a thin line. His soldiers in the Coliseum marched forward, but he waved them off. The second man had turned sideways, but seeing the soldiers return to their post, he faced the Lord of Regents; this time, his hand secretly knocked the bow arrow.
"I have hungry hounds to feed" He chuckled.
"Pardon us, Lord. My name is Theodore. My friend here is Gittens. We are sons of Rufus Drilof and Sylla Ferret respectively" Gittens had moved into Theodore's front with his back turned against the Lord of the Regents.
"Wait a minute! Rufus Drilof, the Lord Commander, and Sylla Ferret, the Archer Commander, were your fathers?" The Lord of the Regents asked Theodore, and at this moment he had taken three arrows at once from Gittens unnoticed.
Yes, you're right, because you and your bastard father killed them." Quickly, Gittens got out of his way, and he fired all three arrows once at the Lord of the Regents with unimaginable speed. All three got him, as he had no armour on.
"Sons of...." Well-thrown pikes by Gittens followed; he caught one with his hand, but the second pierced him on his chest. He staggered backwards until he fell over a table
