Chapter 16 - Author’s Thought

When I wrote the last line of The Gift Her Fire, I told myself it was over.

The fire had burned.The doll had cracked.The haunting had ended.

But something about June's smile never left me.

And maybe that's the truth about spirits like Eleanor — they don't leave when they're defeated. They stay when they're understood. And once June let her in, part of her never fully came back.

So here I am again. Writing. Not because I wanted to continue…But because June did.
