Chapter 53 - EPISODE 53: “The Throne That Remains Empty”

In the Chamber of the Demon KingsAn ominous silence weighs over the colossal, circular chamber where the 14 Demon Kings gather. Pillars of obsidian tower into darkness, flickering with dim, soul-blue torches. At the center, seated calmly amidst the chaos of power, is the Old Man—older than any being in the room.

He finally rises, his cloak dragging lightly over the stone floor. His voice, though calm, strikes with unexpected weight.

Old Man (solemnly):

"You all are the new generation… blind to the echoes of history. The past was buried to protect you. But it refuses to stay dead. Now, I'll tell you a story—a tale about a man... A man born to give answers to everything the world feared asking."

The Demon Kings glance at each other, tension stirring. The chamber sharpens in attention. Then—

Werios (raising an eyebrow):

"A man?"

The Old Man chuckles—a chilling, broken laugh.

Old Man:

"Yes. Just a man. But one whose footsteps fractured kingdoms."

He scans the room, pausing on an empty throne cast in shadows at the edge of the circle.

Old Man (pointing):

"Why… is that throne empty?"

Kilder (flatly):

"That belonged to Dazmor Zykor, who resigned his place in the Nexus. His grandson—Threxius Zykor, the current Demon Lord—now holds the title. According to Nexus law, the bloodline rules. Like us."

Beriol (impatiently):

"Enough riddles, old man. Speak about this guy already."

Ferito (eyes narrowing):

"Forget about the guy . Tell us about the Imperium Stone."

A low murmur spreads among the kings—

"The Imperium Stone..."

"What is he saying?"

"What?"

The ancient air thickens with an unseen energy, as if something forbidden had just been uttered.

The Whispering Forest TrailThe atmosphere shifts. Mist hangs between twisted roots and ancient trees as Kaizer leads the group along an eerie, forgotten path.

Azira (anxiously):

"Where exactly are we going?"

Gare (softly):

"Yeah… I was about to ask that too."

Ziron (calmly):

"Kaizer's memory… he's trying to recall something. Something buried."

Kaizer stops suddenly—his voice like wind through cracked stone.

Kaizer:

"A memory both… good and bad. Makes me not to forget, when I get here."

The group falls into silence, aware now that this journey was no ordinary walk.

The Night Breeze at Eldrin's HouseThe scene cuts sharply. Inside Eldrin's house, the wind flows gently through the slightly open window, brushing across the faces of those gathered. A strange stillness lies beneath the silence. Rakhad, Zoick, Eldrin—and now, Querion.

Querion's face holds urgency. He steps forward.

Querion (low and grave):

"This place… isn't safe. They'll find me. We need to move. Now."

A shimmering portal begins to form behind him, swirling like a silent scream.

Zoick (angrily):

"Again?! We're humans! We live here. We can't keep vanishing like fugitives. If you've got something to say—say it here!"

Eldrin (firm but understanding):

"Listen to him, Zoick. He's been searching for years. Whatever's chasing him… it's not just his burden anymore. If he stays, Earth is at risk."

Zoick (raising his voice):

"What are you even saying?! You're dragging us into this mess—just tell me fa—"

Before he finishes, Rakhad grabs Zoick, clamping a hand over his mouth.

Rakhad (with a rare softness):

"Sorry, brother."

He pulls Zoick into the swirling portal.

The portal closes with a thrum of displaced magic, and the house is left in the eerie calm of night once again.
