Chapter 4 - Waking on a New Shore

"Shaa... shaa... shaa," the waves crashed against Rainar's unconscious body, lying face down and completely naked on the beach.

"Ugh."

Feeling the water and hearing the waves, Rainar woke up. Slowly, he opened his eyes, and his first sight was a clean white sand beach, with dense jungle stretching out before him. His eyes blinked, then widened, then rounded. He immediately looked right and left, scanning his surroundings.

"Whoa... where am I?" he wondered.

"Ugh." Rainar tried to get up, but his entire body ached and felt stiff. Finally, he rolled onto his back, seeing the sun directly overhead. He raised a hand to block the dazzling sunlight hitting his face. Then he looked around once more and realized he was on a beach.

"How did I get here? Where is this island? I don't remember anything?" he asked himself anxiously.

Finally, Rainar sat on a tree trunk by the beach and began to ponder. Suddenly, a memory flashed in his mind. Rainar's face turned terrified and pale as he remembered what he had done while a giant monster, and the monster's memories flooded his mind. "Aaaaaaaaah!" He clutched his head with both hands and screamed loudly. He remembered everything, from his death in that strange world to his complete destruction of the Hestalia Kingdom.

Tears streamed down his face. He looked like someone who had just experienced and committed something horrific in their life.

"W-what have I done... I killed everyone... why did this happen?" he mumbled to himself.

But another feeling stirred within his heart: a desire for revenge against the humans who had killed his wife and then killed him after he had helped them. The feeling of a giant monster named Raigan who met a tragic end at the hands of humans. As two feelings battled within him, Rainar hugged himself, trembling. On one hand, as a human, he regretted all his actions, but on the other, as the giant monster Raigan, he felt no remorse at all, even wanting more.

While lost in confusion and indecision, torn between the two warring feelings, suddenly bwoooong! A holographic screen appeared in front of Rainar's face, startling him so much he jumped back and fell off the tree trunk.

"O-ouch, what's that?" Rainar asked, instinctively closing his eyes.

When he opened his eyes, the holographic screen was still right in front of his face. Confused about what it was, Rainar raised his hand, trying to feel the screen, but his hand passed right through it, grasping only empty air.

"Huh," he muttered.

He then waved his hand through the screen a few times and blinked repeatedly, but the screen remained in front of his face. Finally, he decided to read what was written on it. The text on the screen was in a language different from what Rainar knew, but he understood its meaning and could read it.

"Gi... Gigas Core?" Rainar asked, bewildered.

But his curiosity was so strong that, without realizing it, he thought "Yes" in his head. Bwooosh! The screen disappeared. Bwoooong! The screen reappeared, displaying three paragraphs of text explaining that Rainar was the reincarnation of a giant monster named Raigar from a world called Earth. The screen also detailed what had happened at the monastery. After reading it, the feelings within Rainar that had previously been battling Raigan's feelings instantly merged into one.

"That's right, they killed Mom, Dad, and intended to kill me. It wasn't wrong for me to destroy them, along with the Hestalia Kingdom," Rainar thought to himself.

The next paragraph explained Raigan's origin and the world called Earth. It stated that on Earth, there was no job or rank system determined by gods or goddesses because there were no gods or goddesses on Earth. Humans were free to choose what they wanted to do according to their hearts' desires. Rainar's hands clenched, grabbing the sand around him.

"It's so good there. There's no job system, and a person's quality isn't determined by that. If there was no such system, Mom and Dad would surely still be alive. We might be celebrating my birthday right now," he mumbled, crying and furious. "I hate this world."

Bwooosh! The screen suddenly vanished, and bwoooong! it reappeared, but this time it only displayed an empty box with a blinking cursor inside.

"What's this?" Rainar asked, confused.

Bwoooong! A smaller screen opened in front of him, explaining that Rainar had to enter his new name in the empty box simply by thinking it. Rainar, understanding the instructions, began to think. After a moment,

"Okay, since my name is Rainar, and my name as a monster in my previous life was Raigan, then my name now will just be Rai... no last name," Rainar decided.

Suddenly, the name "Rai" appeared on the screen, then bwooosh! The screen vanished, and bwoooong! it reappeared, but this time it looked bigger, filled with text.

Rai read each description, and as he spoke what he read in his head, a screen appeared, explaining its meaning like a tutorial. After finishing and understanding, he said "status" in his head, and the screen disappeared. Then he looked at his hands and thought about his hands changing into monster hands. Crack... creak... Rai's hands transformed into Raigan's hands, and he felt nothing.

"W-wow... I really am a monster," he thought.

Rai stood and looked at his hands. He tried clenching them, then opening them again.

"This... is incredible. I can feel the power. I have to learn this new strength because now I'm not Raigan or Rainar. I'm Rai. I've been reborn and possess the combined power of two worlds: as a human and a giant monster," Rai thought to himself.

After that, Rai began training to raise his level and learn his abilities. As his level increased, his abilities grew, and he became stronger. He also continued to learn about his previous world when he lived as a kaiju and felt a desire to become human. Suddenly, he remembered something.

"What about Reidan, my wife? Is she also in this world? And what about the others? Are they here too? I hope they're all here and willing to help me fight against the gods who created this job and rank system however they pleased," Rai thought to himself.
