Chapter 70 - The survivors reaction

The next day arrived. The sun was bright as always, almost blinding. Its golden beams filtered through the hotel's windows, an opposite to the grim reality. It was as if it was declaring; even if your days were dark, I'd always be bright.

In the grand lobby, the anticipation and tension in the air was almost tangible.

Survivors packed the space, chattering about one thing or the other. Their faces bore different emotions. They had been summoned by their floor leaders, and while some had grumbled about leaving their claimed corners, most had come with a spark of hope in their eyes.

"Do you know what this is about?" a woman whispered, clutching a threadbare shawl around her shoulders.

"Are they planning to give us some of the rations they got yesterday?" a man speculated, his voice rising with excitement.

"Wait, I think you might be right! That would be amazing!"

"Oh my, let me call my neighbor down. They refused to leave their room."
