Chapter 174 The Celestial Dragons' National Treasure
The Lunarian race was a truly terrifying people.
Even the Giants' natural-born strength paled in comparison to theirs.
Their innate ability to control flames, their impregnable defense when flames blazed behind their heads, their untraceable speed when those flames were extinguished.
They could truly be called the perfect beings of this world. It was hard to imagine that such a race had actually evolved naturally.
But the Lunarians were far from invincible.
After switching to speed mode, their defense would become weak.
And in that state, King took a solid hit from Brett's internal destruction punch.
In an instant, the black bird spun as it plummeted into the sea.
Splash.
The sea surface erupted in a massive water column, and huge waves began surging in all directions.
What bad luck for King. If the battlefield hadn't been at sea, even taking that hit, he could have continued struggling.
But Beast Pirates members were already jumping into the sea to rescue him.
Brett flexed his fist.
The electrical propulsion had increased in power, and his internal destruction Haki was gradually being mastered.
Even without using his ability, he was now above masters like Katakuri or King, wasn't he?
What about when using his ability?
The corners of Brett's mouth curved up as a brilliant smile bloomed on his face.
When using his ability, the intensity of electrical propulsion would increase even further, combined with his Devil Fruit's enhancement—
He could really go toe-to-toe with the Admirals now.
The Emperors might still be a bit much, but not by much.
He just needed to learn Conqueror's coating and that would be enough. After all, his various bloodline traits were still growing, and his body would become even more powerful.
And was Conqueror's coating that difficult?
His little junior Straw Hat learned it after getting beaten with a few clubs.
Rayleigh had said there were two keys to learning Conqueror's Haki coating.
The first was strength.
Only when one's strength was powerful enough would their Conqueror's Haki have sufficient intensity. This was why Kaido said it was a technique only a handful of the strongest could master - only true powerhouses were qualified to learn it.
He was obviously already strong enough.
The second point was control.
Controlling Conqueror's Haki was much more difficult than Armament Haki. Armament Haki was basically like an extension of one's limbs once learned, but when Conqueror's Haki first awakened, it couldn't even be controlled at all.
This wasn't a problem for him either.
After all, the training to make Armament Haki flow and penetrate internally was essentially training in control.
This was equally applicable to Conqueror's Haki.
He should be able to learn it before too long.
Brett thought this to himself.
His little junior Straw Hat mastered it the instant he realized Conqueror's Haki could be coated - he couldn't fall too far behind.
Then—
Brett looked toward the battlefield. It was about time for this to end.
"Mama mama! Kaido! About time you surrendered!"
Charlotte Linlin laughed heartily as she began trying to get him to surrender, "If that Brett boy joins the fight, you'll have absolutely no chance of winning."
"Linlin!"
Kaido gritted his teeth.
Though he considered himself stronger than this old hag, he couldn't easily defeat her either.
But that damn fish-man brat could easily take out all his other subordinates, since that kid's strength was on the same level as his own.
"Enough talk. In the end, you just want to know the Celestial Dragons' secret that Doflamingo knows."
Charlotte Linlin said seriously, "Mama can share it with you, consider it looking out for you like in the old days."
Kaido's expression was somewhat complex.
Though he called her an old hag now.
He couldn't deny that long ago in the past, when he was still just a brat, he had received much care from this old woman.
Even someone as cold and ruthless as Kaido regarded Charlotte Linlin as a comrade in his heart.
"But,"
Charlotte Linlin's face showed a smile again, "Doflamingo goes to Mama! He's got nothing left anyway, so he's no use to you anymore, right?"
"Mama's still counting on him to give Mama two Celestial Dragon children!"
Kaido's cold expression cracked, and he burst out laughing, "Worororo! Linlin, you're still the same as ever!"
Still wanting to have children at any cost.
"So what's your decision, Kaido?"
Charlotte Linlin asked seriously.
"Hah—"
Kaido slowly exhaled.
Then he sneered, "But Linlin, the one who's going to become Pirate King is me!"
"Mama mama!"
Charlotte Linlin laughed heartily as she lowered her blade, "Don't talk nonsense! I'm the one who's going to become Pirate King!"
The two looked at each other, then burst out laughing.
This was exactly why when the Rocks Pirates fell apart, they didn't continue working together.
"The battle is over!"
Kaido shouted at the top of his lungs, "Worororo! Now let's prepare for a banquet!"
The Beast Pirates members and Big Mom Pirates officers who had been fighting intensely gradually stopped.
"Mama mama!"
Charlotte Linlin laughed loudly, "If the desserts don't satisfy Mama, don't blame me for not giving you face, Kaido!"
"If you want a beating!"
Kaido snorted coldly.
"But before the banquet, there's one most important thing." Charlotte Linlin grinned, "Bring that boy over first!"
"Are you talking about him?"
Brett descended from the sky, carrying a man in his hand - Doflamingo.
With his current strength, capturing Doflamingo was effortless. The guy couldn't even resist.
Seeing that Kaido and Charlotte Linlin had stopped fighting, Doflamingo roughly understood what awaited him next.
His mouth turned downward, his expression dark as water.
"Mama mama, Doffy, we finally meet again!"
Charlotte Linlin couldn't wait to ride her thunder cloud Zeus over and snatch Doflamingo away, immediately planting her crimson lips on his face.
Kaido turned his head away, unable to bear the sight.
He looked at Brett, "What did you do just now, you bastard?"
"What did I do?"
Brett said with a smile, "Isn't Yamato your daughter, Kaido? Helping her is helping you, isn't it?"
"You're looking for death!"
Black lightning crackled around Kaido's kanabo.
"Enough, Kaido! Didn't you say the fighting was over?"
Charlotte Linlin shouted loudly, "Brett is My good friend!"
Kaido snorted coldly. He looked at Brett and said, "That fool can't escape. No matter where she runs, I'll drag her back!"
"Perhaps."
Brett smiled, then looked at Doflamingo, "Now then, shouldn't we ask about the Celestial Dragons' secret? I can listen in, right?"
What exactly was the Celestial Dragons' national treasure? It was quite intriguing.
"Mama mama, one more doesn't matter."
Charlotte Linlin didn't care. She was already sharing with Kaido, so one more Brett didn't matter, right? Kaido had the Beast Pirates, and Brett had Fish-Man Island too.
Kaido didn't object either. He just looked at Doflamingo, "Doflamingo, you know what you should do now, right?"
"Fufufufu, want to know what the Celestial Dragons' national treasure is?"
Doflamingo actually burst out laughing at this point, "Fine then, I'll tell you! Go ahead and try to overthrow the World Government, fufufufu!"
Oh, he was probably in despair and wanted to get his final revenge on the World Government.
Brett listened attentively.
