Chapter 244 - Chapter 243

Chapter 243: Critical Situation, Trump Card

The man before him wore white robes with a mask covering his face. Brett didn't know his name or what he looked like.

He only knew one thing.

This man was probably CP0's supreme leader—the guy called the Celestial Dragons' strongest shield.

Undoubtedly a very formidable character.

He'd been watching them all along, right? As expected, he immediately jumped out to block their path.

"Isn't that obvious?" Brett smiled in response to this strongest shield gentleman's question. "Something happened at Fish-Man Island, so we need to hurry back."

"You came just in time—help me say goodbye to the Five Elders."

"Still playing dumb at this point, fish-man Brett?" The Celestial Dragons' strongest shield's voice sounded somewhat aged—apparently not young, but still quite vigorous. "The government has already discovered your crimes. Don't think about fleeing in fear of punishment. All that awaits you is the law's severe judgment."

"Crimes?" Brett smiled. "So what crimes exactly?"

Interesting. Would this guy directly mention that he'd rescued Tom and seized Pluton's blueprints?

"You know what crimes yourself." Even though there were no other observers here, the strongest shield gentleman remained tight-lipped.

All information regarding Pluton couldn't be exposed to outsiders.

The strictest confidentiality policy must be enforced.

"So basically, you won't let us leave without a fight, right?" Brett said somewhat regretfully.

"From the very beginning, there was never that chance." The strongest shield spoke, his voice calm and steady, like a divine messenger from the sky proclaiming a deity's decree. "All criminals who oppose the government have only one fate—"

"Death."

"Is that so?" Brett smiled.

"Don't be too arrogant, fish-man Brett." The strongest shield gentleman heard Brett's casual tone and said coldly, "Do you think with your power you can do whatever you want in this Mariejois, this world's highest city?"

As if to verify his words, the next instant—

"Looks like we came just in time." Light suddenly flashed from the sky.

Dazzling yellow light descended from above, condensing beside the white-robed man into the form of a tall, thin man.

"Yo, we meet again, Brett-kun." The man condensing from light smiled and waved at Brett.

"It's Kizaru!" Neptune's pupils contracted.

An Admiral!

One CP0 commander was already troublesome enough—now adding a Marine Admiral?

Unfortunately, Brett could only hear general emotions in people's hearts, unable to completely listen to their thoughts.

Otherwise, he'd definitely be smiling and telling Neptune now:

One Admiral isn't enough to deal with me.

"Time to repay your sins, fish-man Brett!" Like a meteor falling from the sky, bringing billowing smoke with a pungent sulfurous smell spreading everywhere, another man crashed down behind Brett's group.

The solid stone ground instantly melted, surrounding temperatures rapidly soaring.

"Akainu!" Neptune's heart instantly filled with even more terror.

Adding Kizaru was already troublesome enough—now even Akainu had come!

Moreover, since two of the three Admirals had appeared here, if the remaining one didn't come, wouldn't that be somewhat out of place?

Obviously, the Aokiji Admiral who'd escorted them to Mariejois had no intention of being unconventional.

Without making a grand entrance like his two colleagues, the man in a blue suit just slowly walked out through Pangaea Castle's doors that Brett had kicked open.

"Ara ara, it ultimately developed to this point," the Admiral symbolizing ice complained while scratching his curly hair. "Can't everyone just get along peacefully?"

"Stop talking nonsense, Kuzan!" The man code-named Akainu, named Sakazuki, had his right arm already transformed into magma even redder than his red suit, billowing smoke rising from his arm.

Under his Marine cap, those hawk-like eyes locked onto Brett's back. "Have you forgotten what humiliation this guy once brought the Marines?"

Aokiji sighed.

Since Brett had now broken with the government, it was time to settle old grudges.

Brett really wanted to laugh.

Very interesting, right?

The World Government protected him and Fish-Man Island.

But the justice-filled Marines could at most complain about the government, then just wait for him to break with the government before causing trouble.

"The situation's bad, Brett!" Neptune said quietly. "All three Admirals are here!"

Three Marine Headquarters Admirals plus one CP0 commander!

Who on the seas could resist such a lineup?

Even the world's strongest Whitebeard Pirates would probably be shattered!

"Don't worry," Brett reassured him with a smile. "Leave everything to me next."

"Ooh, still as confident as ever," Kizaru said with a smile. "Truly worthy of Brett-kun. Back at the Science Unit base, I said you'd definitely become an incredible man. My prediction came true."

"Why waste words with this guy!" Akainu was hot-tempered, with absolutely no intention of more small talk with Brett. The magma on his right arm surged even more violently. "Take him down!"

"Let's chat more afterward, Brett-kun." Kizaru grinned as his body began emitting brilliant light.

"Ha." The perpetually languid Admiral Aokiji finally showed some motivation.

He slowly exhaled, and the ground at his feet already began freezing.

"Accept your fate, fish-man Brett." The man the Five Elders called Zero, CP0's supreme commander, also began methodically rolling up his sleeves.

Victory was already in hand.

Even an Emperor-level powerhouse facing all four of them simultaneously couldn't possibly have any chance of winning!

Not to mention Brett had a bunch of burdens with him!

Brett smiled. He naturally understood very clearly that direct confrontation had absolutely no chance of victory.

Though he considered himself somewhat stronger than Admirals, that didn't mean he could win four-on-one.

So now it was time to show them his trump card.

Brett reached into his pocket.

He pulled out something.

"What! This is—!!" Zero, whose voice had been calm, now exclaimed in shock.

Brett held a stone in his hand—a somewhat gaudy-looking stone.
