Chapter 4 - Encounter with "Spider Silk"

Since Connors's place didn't have women's clothes, Harley went out with him the next day wearing a set of men's clothes.

Simple jeans paired with a white shirt made Harley Quinn look incredibly capable.

The only problem was that the shirt was too loose for her, and since she wasn't wearing anything underneath, she swayed as she walked, making Connors's spirits surge.

So, the sun was high in the sky became a verb, and by the time the two officially left, it was already nearly noon.

In Connors's expectation, the first thing he and Harley Quinn would do together was cause trouble.

Whether Harley Quinn planned to get revenge on Joker or he himself enjoyed the superhero gossip, it would at least fit the identity of a transmigrator.

But unexpectedly, the first thing the two of them did at this moment was go shopping for clothes.

Under Connors's intentional or unintentional guidance, black stockings, short shorts, and tight T-shirts were all put on Harley Quinn, clearly showing off her hot figure and frequently attracting the attention of passersby on the street.

Shifting his gaze from the long legs wrapped in black stockings, Connors conveniently clicked "No" on the system in his mind. Just as he was about to drive the car of that unlucky car owner from last night to cruise around Arkham Asylum, his Spider-Sense suddenly gave a warning.

No, this isn't a warning...

His Spider-Sense, like an instinct, quickly transmitted the information into his mind.

Unlike the danger warning when he was being watched by Batman at night, the Spider-Sense at this moment clearly conveyed another kind of information, or rather, an attraction.

"Get in the car!"

Connors pulled open the car door and jumped in. Harley Quinn was also quick, even quite agile, and squeezed in through the car window on the other side.

"Xiao Pa, are we going to start causing some chaos? I know where to get heavy firearms!"

Harley Quinn sat in the passenger seat, slightly excited. If it were a convertible, she would definitely stand up without hesitation.

But at this moment, she could only half-lie in the seat, her long legs wrapped in black stockings resting against the windshield.

"You can get them?"

Amidst the roar of the engine, the car sped onto the road, emitting exhaust fumes. Connors held the steering wheel with one hand and glanced at Harley Quinn curiously.

"Yeah, Joker was able to escape Arkham because I got him guns and explosives, but he abandoned me... Xiao Pa, you're going the wrong way."

Connors nodded, understanding how Joker escaped Arkham, but he completely ignored Harley's point about the wrong route.

He wasn't going to Arkham Asylum or to get guns; he was going to pursue the unknown attraction in his Spider-Sense.

Whoosh!

Under his deliberate observation, an agile figure wandering back and forth among the tall buildings was captured – it was the source of the attraction in his Spider-Sense.

"Oh! Xiao Pa, are you chasing that person?"

Harley also noticed the figure high in the air and immediately put the matter of getting firearms out of her mind. She even leaned half her body out of the open car window and shouted at the agile figure in red and black in the sky:

"Woooooah..."

She didn't know who the other person was, nor the purpose of chasing them. She was just intoxicated by the exhilarating speed brought by Connors's frantic acceleration at this moment, shouting unconsciously.

Slap!

Connors slapped Harley's backside, making her return to her seat, and then floored the accelerator.

Soon, before he even caught up to the person, because he ignored traffic rules and speed limits, the Gotham Police were already on their tail, sirens blaring.

"We'll split up later. I'll chase that guy, and you try to create some chaos. Be careful not to get caught."

After passing several intersections, Connors parked the car in a roadside parking spot, pretending he hadn't been speeding just now, and said to Harley Quinn in the passenger seat.

He knew that even though the current Harley Quinn hadn't gone through the subsequent series of changes and her physical condition was no different from an ordinary person, she was a criminal psychology expert after all.

A few Police officers wouldn't be able to stop her at all.

"What about you? Are you going to abandon me like Joker did?" Harley Quinn said with exaggerated coyness.

"You know where I live. Meet up on the rooftop there." Connors laughed, opened the car door, and left first.

For a crazy beauty like Harley Quinn, sweet-talking is useless; she's not some delicate little girl.

Although he didn't go to Arkham Asylum, the Police chase behind him meant Connors's goal of getting gossip had been achieved.

--Harley Quinn would go cause chaos, and while getting gossip himself, he would pursue the figure wandering high in the air.

Although it was just an ordinary piece of gossip, "Harley Quinn Rages on Gotham Streets," it was better than nothing. He couldn't possibly let her go challenge Batman with a baseball bat right now, could he?

Harley Quinn also wanted to follow Connors to chase the mysterious person, but the current situation really made it impossible for them to act together, so she twisted her hips and got into the driver's seat.

The sound of sirens and car engines gradually faded away. Connors looked up and found that the mysterious person was already gone, but his Spider-Sense was still there. So, he looked left and right, jumped onto the external staircase of a building, and quickly climbed up.

Climbing stairs was nothing to him. He reached the rooftop in no time, but it was empty.

"Strange, my Spider-Sense clearly pointed to here..."

Connors was puzzled for a moment, then his ankle tightened, and he was hoisted upside down into the air.

Crap, I was careless!

His heart tightened. Before he could even move his body, his hands were also tied, leaving him with nowhere to escape.

But even so, there was no danger warning in his Spider-Sense. Connors couldn't help but wonder if the thing was malfunctioning.

However, soon, when a woman wearing a red, gray, and white tight-fitting suit with the lower half of her face covered by a red mask appeared in his line of sight, Connors seemed to understand.

Shoulder-length short hair, a spider web pattern on the tight suit, an impressive figure hidden underneath, a red mask...

This series of features was not unfamiliar to Connors; in fact, he was quite familiar with them:

"Silk" Cindy Moon!

The moment he saw her, he understood why his Spider-Sense had seemed to fail.

It wasn't failing; it was that the other person had no ill will. He had Spider-Sense, and Cindy did too. This thing acted like a magnet, attracting them to each other.

In the comics, influenced by the "Spider-Sense," Silk and Spider-Man would spark whenever they met.

"Hi..."

Connors wanted to say hello, but his mouth was only half-open when it was blocked by the soft lips under Silk's mask.

"!!!"

Right away, this exciting?! The comics didn't lie to me!

He widened his eyes, looking at Silk's face so close to him. Unlike Harley Quinn's wild beauty, Cindy had black hair and black eyes, full of classical charm.
