Chapter 2 - The Harbinger

"—What the fuck do you mean I have no maidens?! I have a maiden inside me right now!"

"Ayo, what?"

"Hold on a minute now…"

"What did he sayyyy?"

Laughter erupted from the fair-skinned girl as she watched the television. She had ash-blonde hair and was sprawled on the black leather sofa with a large bowl of popcorn in her hands.

She put aside her popcorn with a giggle and fished out her phone. She then spammed a load of emotes in the streamer's live chat.

"Hehehe–aaagh!!"

Himiko Toga jolted as she felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Who the fu–you scared the living shi–...out of…me…"

She slowed her words as she finally registered who it was that interrupted her. Then, her angered expression shifted immediately into a bright smile.

"Harbinger!~ You're back! I haven't seen you since we attacked the U.S.J.. I thought you died~" She said energetically and excitedly, speaking about the man's death without even trying to show a hint of sympathy.

The "Harbinger" in question is a tall young man with shoulder-length white hair and sharp golden eyes.

He was dressed in white martial arts robes held by a black belt, paired with black martial arts shoes and equally dark wrist wraps to bind the robes from swaying.

Harbinger's face creased to form a smile as he asked in a soul-soothing tone. "Where are the others?"

It wasn't lost on Toga that he had decided to ignore her previous question about where he had been, but she answered regardless.

"Tomura said that we'll be attacking U.A. in a forest or something. So the others went to prepare~"

Harbinger seemed to accept that explanation as he looked around the hideout, finding none of the others in the league of villains.

"I see. And where might I find them?" He asked the short girl as she stood up and shook the popcorn off her clothes.

"Hmm... I think they're at the warehouse. That's where Shigaraki likes to make his 'big plans' and pretend he's not just winging it~"

Harbinger nodded his head as he turned to leave.

"Wait!" He paused as Toga called after him.

"You can't just show up after months of ghosting us and walk right back out the door. It's rude, you know. C'mon, where were you all this time, huh? You just disappeared like poof! Gone!"

Harbinger's golden eyes now rested on Toga as she stood before him, her small figure barely reaching his chest.

"Let's just say I had.. business to attend to."

"Business? Ooooh, secret business? Bloody business?"

"Did you kill anyone fun?~"

Harbinger poked the excited girl's forehead as she had now gotten too close to comfort.

"No one interesting, I'm afraid."

Toga's excitement dimmed at his words.

"Anyway, I should go now. I will see what Shigaraki has planned. Stay out of trouble."

"Boo, you're boring! Come watch the stream with me instead! This guy is about to try and fight the Tree Sentinel. It's hilarious!"

Harbinger didn't bother to look back as he walked out the door. "Perhaps another time. Goodbye, Toga."

***

A white figure walked through the night of Kamino. Eventually, he came across the rusted steel door of a warehouse.

He pushed it open, stepping into the place that served as the League's planning room. The space smelled of cold metal and oil.

Near the centre of the room were multiple silhouettes, some of which Harbinger didn't recognise. One of which, the lizard, immediately appeared in a flash before Harbinger.

The lizard's sword came faster than Harbinger could react, cleaving his head off his body.

"Hmph. Filthy intruder."

*Shatter*

Harbinger's now headless corpse immediately shattered into glass, and he reappeared on the other side of the room.

Tomura didn't appear shocked as Harbinger appeared beside him.

"So, you're alive."

Harbinger inclined his head, ignoring Spinner's shocked face. "So it seems. And who are these new members of ours?"

Before Shigaraki could answer, a sudden sound could be heard across the room. Immediately, every villain's gaze snapped toward the old-looking TV mounted on a platform of construction materials.

Then, a grinning visage took over the darkness on the screen.

"Welcome back, Harbinger."

Harbinger side-eyed Tomura, who clenched his hand around the table he sat by. He could already see it disintegrating.

"Thank you. It's good to be back, sir."

All For One then addressed the group. "I'm pleased to see our numbers growing again. We are all individuals who share the vision of a world liberated from the hero society. It's almost time for the League to strike at U.A. High School. Their little training camp will serve as the perfect stage."

Harbinger smiled for the first time, a real smile. 'I hope to see you there, All Might.'
