Chapter 112 - Chapter 112: Poison Douluo

Tang San raised an eyebrow and glanced at Qian Renxue, who was recovering in the distance. He remarked, "Look at the Angel God over there—divine armor and Spirit Bone inheritance. And then there's you, Rakshasa God, trying to freeload off your inheritor's belongings."

"Even gods have their differences, huh?"

Tang San carefully surveyed his surroundings. It was now almost certain that this Holy Spirit Sect was indeed an organization created by followers devoted to the Rakshasa God. Everything they did was for the sake of reviving the Rakshasa God.

What remained unclear was why it had later been taken over by Insectoids and turned into a nesting ground for their eggs.

"Only half a box left—probably because the Insectoids consumed the other half." Tang San chuckled. "I'm almost level 40, and directly attaching a Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring to my first Martial Soul does carry significant risks. So, I want a God-given Spirit Ring for my second spirit. That way, I can increase the success rate of attaching a Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring to my first Martial Soul."

"I offer a sacrifice to you, and in return, you give me a God-given Spirit Ring. Isn't that how mortals have always worshipped gods?"

Tang San was straightforward. What he lacked most right now were Soul Rings. Moreover, attaching a black Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring as his fourth Soul Ring was indeed highly risky. Thus, he needed a way to increase his absorption limit—and a God-given Spirit Ring was the best solution.

Without caring about the lingering will of the Rakshasa God, Tang San willed the Ghost Ring back into his possession. After all, it was his Soul Ring, and control still lay in his hands.

Tang San walked over to Qian Renxue, observing the woman radiating a holy glow. Even with a disguise, no ordinary person could emit such light!

"Freckles, can you still move?"

Qian Renxue slowly opened her eyes and replied, "I should be fine after resting for another half-hour."

Hearing this, Tang San's expression turned helpless. "I don't think we can wait half an hour."

The next second, he grabbed Qian Renxue's arm and hoisted her onto his back.

!!!

"Y-You—put me down!" Qian Renxue's cheeks flushed red. Aside from family, she had never had physical contact with another man. This sudden situation left her flustered.

Tang San activated Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and sprinted toward the exit. "No matter how strong you are, I doubt you want to be buried alive."

Sure enough, the next moment, a cracking sound echoed from above. Qian Renxue, still on Tang San's back, looked up to see dense fissures spreading across the ceiling, threatening to collapse at any second.

There was no doubt—this underground cavern couldn't possibly withstand such intense combat, especially after Qian Renxue had unleashed a massive attack that blasted a huge crater into the ground. The cave was bound to collapse.

"Hold on tight!"

"Hey!"

Boom! Massive stalactites crashed down. Tang San's left eye slowed his perception of time as his feet moved with Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, allowing him to weave through the falling debris like the wind.

Soon, Tang San and Qian Renxue escaped the underground cavern and returned to the main hall where the Holy Spirit Sect's leader had died.

Once inside, Qian Renxue leaped back, freeing herself from Tang San's back. She turned her head away and said, "The Holy Spirit Sect matter is over. I need to return to Spirit Hall to report."

Tang San suddenly remembered that Qian Renxue's current identity was not that of the Saintess, but a Clergy member of the Spirit Hall.

Tang San nodded as well and said, "I should also return to the Clear Sky Sect. The reappearance of the Insectoid Soul Beasts has reached an extremely severe level. If there are similar breeding nests elsewhere, it might affect the entire Soul Master world."

Hearing this, Qian Renxue also shed her shy demeanor, her expression turning serious. "I will report this matter to the Pope," she said.

Tang San didn't say anything more and turned to leave. There were many things he needed to attend to next.

"Hey," Qian Renxue called out hesitantly.

"Hmm?"

"Never mind. We'll meet again if fate allows."

Tang San looked puzzled but didn't dwell on it and left.

Watching Tang San's retreating figure, Qian Renxue's eyes briefly showed a trace of loneliness, but it quickly vanished. She wiped her face, reverting to the cold and aloof demeanor of the Spirit Hall's Saintess.

"My duty is to uphold justice. That is the mission of the Angel God. As for other matters..." Qian Renxue didn't finish her sentence and turned to return to the Spirit Hall.

This trip to the Ancient Ruins had been quite fruitful for Tang San. Upon returning to the Clear Sky Sect, he recounted everything he had encountered.

Hearing that the White Ant Insectoid could sacrifice its cultivation to regenerate and even use the Holy Spirit Sect's teleportation Soul Guidance Device to evade fatal blows left Tang Hao and Tang Xiao utterly astonished.

"Not only can these Spirit Beasts use Soul Skills, but you also suspect they possess Martial Souls similar to Soul Masters?" Tang Xiao said with a grave expression.

Tang San nodded solemnly. "Yes, the Soul Skills are confirmed. At the very least, the White Ant Insectoid I encountered could likely steal the Soul Skills of the Soul Masters it devoured. As for Martial Souls, I'm not entirely sure—that would be too unbelievable. Martial Souls are the soul of a Soul Master. If they can truly steal even souls, that would be far too terrifying."

Tang Hao agreed. "It's not impossible for Spirit Beasts to possess Martial Souls, but only 100,000-Year Soul Beasts who have taken human form can achieve that—a power gained at great cost. If the Spirit Beast world has indeed found a way to possess Martial Souls without taking human form, it would be fatal for our human race."

The Second Elder also concurred. "This matter is of grave importance. Since a Clergy member of the Spirit Hall also witnessed this, we must pay them a visit. We must investigate these Insectoid Soul Beasts thoroughly. Additionally, we've severely underestimated the role of Soul Guidance Devices, treating them merely as convenient tools. I believe the Soul Master world must pool all its resources to study this lost art."

Though Tang San held a high status, his strength was still too limited to intervene in high-level meetings that could reshape the entire Soul Master world.

Tang Xiao nodded. "I propose convening a Titled Conference, gathering all Titled Douluo from the Douluo Continent to address this anomaly in the Spirit Beast world."

Tang Xiao then looked at Tang San. "Xiao San, you should notify the two Titled Douluo from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School."

"Me?"

Tang Xiao nodded. "Yes. After all, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School lost a disciple with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda—Ning Fengzhi's son. As one of the Upper Three Sects and with you being a witness, it's best for you to deliver this news."

"Moreover, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School maintains close ties with the Heaven Dou Imperial Family and has a stronghold in the Heaven Dou Imperial City. Ning Fengzhi is currently there. Although the Heaven Dou Imperial Family doesn't have any Titled Douluo of their own, they do have one Titled Douluo guardian. This person has a rather peculiar temperament. As the Young Sect Master of the Clear Sky Sect, you'd be the most suitable person to notify him."

Tang San frowned and asked, "Which Titled Douluo?"

"Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo."
