Chapter 16 - 16 Levels in Cultivation

Although there was a lot of gold and silver in the palace's secret treasury, Chen Long was not interested in these things.

However, Chen Long became increasingly angry with the dynasty, which had the heart to oppress the people, impose heavy taxes on the commoners, and burden the people with contributions for many national development projects when the royal treasury was full of valuables.

Chen Long was certain that if his father were king, he would maximise the kingdom's wealth for the people's well-being.

Chen Long's eyes remained fixed on the far end of the room, not the centre where there was an abundance of gold, silver, and jewels.

At the far end of the room, he saw objects that others might not consider valuable, but in his eyes, these objects were extremely precious.

The first precious object was a large bell.

To the untrained eye, it was just a large bell with ancient inscriptions, perhaps good for collection, but that was the only use of this large bell in the eyes of ordinary people.

But for someone who could activate such an object, it would be extraordinarily useful.

"This is an extraordinary formation, far stronger than the one currently in my family's home," Chen Long thought to himself as he attempted to activate the large object.

After performing the Taoist movements with ease, within moments, a rumbling sound emanated from the bell, indicating that it was indeed still functional.

"This bell can even withstand attacks from cultivators of the middle three levels, so this object will be very useful for my father when he leads, ensuring that cultivators from the three lower realms and the three middle realms cannot breach the defence of this formation bell."

This formation bell is called the Dragon Formation Bell, one of the most valuable formation bells. Though its power isn't as flexible as the Dragon Cloak, which can protect its owner according to their cultivation level, this bell is extremely valuable for a ninth-tier realm like the one Chen Long inhabits.

In the Eternal World where Chen Long originated, such an item is not particularly valuable because the power of this first-tier Dragon Bell can only reach the three middle realms and cannot surpass the three upper realms or higher. Therefore, this item would not be very useful to Chen Long.

This is different from the Dragon Cloak, as the Dragon Cloak can reach the strength of the three upper realms of a cultivator once Chen Long reaches that realm and will not be limited to just the three middle realms.

The three lower realms consist of the Body Purification Realm, where Chen Long currently resides. The second is the Body Strengthening Realm, and the third is the Foundation Building Realm.

Above these are the three middle realms of the cultivator realm, consisting of the Golden Core Realm, the Core Formation Realm, and the highest, the Newly Born Soul Realm.

Right now, Chen Long stored the Level 1 Dragon Bell with a sense of satisfaction because, no matter what, this item would be a strong defensive fortress for his father and Officer Cian, as well as his father's trusted men when he had to leave this country to go to another country.

After that, Chen Long headed towards the second item that caught his attention.

It was a storage ring. After examining it carefully, Chen Long realised that this storage ring was a giant-sized storage ring, one that he had once possessed as the Eternal Emperor in the Eternal Realm.

He never expected such a powerful item to exist in such a small kingdom.

Therefore, he could confirm that the ancestors of this kingdom were once prominent figures who had roamed the Eternal Realm thousands of years ago.

Like the other items discovered by Chen Long, this storage ring had also remained sealed for a long time. This was because it required complex methods to open and use the storage ring.

However, with Chen Long's understanding of the Tao, he easily managed to open the storage ring and examine its contents.

Inside, Chen Long immediately found the extraordinary items he desperately needed.

These were the materials required to craft a mid-tier Purple Lightning Amulet, something he had previously lacked. As a result, he had only been able to create low-tier Purple Lightning Amulets.

Even the materials in this storage bag could be used to create hundreds of thousands of talismans. Although it would indeed take a considerable amount of time to create hundreds of thousands of talismans, he estimated he could make around 1,000 mid-tier Purple Lightning Talismans before leaving this kingdom.

These medium-grade Purple Lightning Charms would be given to his family as additional protection when facing formidable enemies.

Chen Long was very excited when he saw the other items inside this large storage ring, as he noticed materials for making medium-grade and divine pills.

Given the abundance of materials, he decided not to inspect them further for now. Clearly, these materials would be extremely useful to him—he could use them to create pills for his father to extend his lifespan, turn his father into a cultivator, and even craft divine healing pills capable of curing severe injuries or illnesses.

There were still many items within this giant storage ring, but he chose to inspect them later. For now, he had even placed his own storage pouch into this new storage ring so that he only needed to carry one storage ring.

After that, Chen Long noticed the third item that caught his attention in the royal warehouse.

The item was a half-metre-tall pagoda. The pagoda had a silver-blue colour and emanated a powerful Taoist aura.

Like the others, this item also seemed to have never been used as intended, at least for hundreds of years.

To others, this small pagoda might just be a nice ornament to look at, but to Chen Long, it had many uses.

After examining it carefully, Chen Long could confirm that this pagoda was the Divine Cloud Pagoda, which possessed extraordinary abilities.

Once activated, the pagoda can grow to the height of a seven-storey building, and one can enter it to train, remaining protected inside where no one can find them.

Thus, the pagoda serves not only as a comfortable training ground but also as a hiding place when pursued by enemies.

Inside the pagoda, a cultivator can train without regard to time.

A cultivator can train inside the pagoda for ten years, allowing them to deeply refine their cultivation. When they exit the pagoda, only one day has passed in the outside world.

Therefore, Chen Long was overjoyed to have discovered this pagoda.
