Chapter 35 - Chapter 34: Red Dance

Just before Tamar Dadiani enters the arena, Hobin Choi raises his arm up, signaling her to slap his hand. She obliges.

- "You got this."

He says, with a big grin on his face. Tamar smiles as well, and nods in silence. She enters the ring.

- "And now, it is time for round 3, match 3! Francisco "The Crimson Moon of Mindanao" Luna versus Tamar "Havoc" Dadiani!!!"

The two fighters face off. Francisco gets into position immediately. Tamar notices something off but dismisses it as nothing important.

- "Fighters, are you ready!?"

Tamar enters a low grappling stance.

- "Let's do this!"

Francisco silently nods.

- "Then…BEGIN!!!"

Tamar goes for a tackle, but Francisco steps to the side and hits her with a roundhouse kick. Tamar blocks in time, but she quickly backs off. She shakes her arm, as the kick stung bad.

- "I thought something was up. This confirms it."

She thinks to herself, before getting back into position.

- "Beating Yong An with ease was one thing, but he was able to put down Jacques Williams with relatively no difficulty as well. I don't know what he's doing or how he's doing it, but his hits are way above his weight class."

She continues, as she circles around Francisco. Francisco stays calm, anticipating the next attack.

Jitae Won watches from the stands.

- "So, he's finally going all out."

He thinks to himself. Yong An too, watches from the stands.

- "You're telling me I was being toyed with even harder than I already thought I was?"

He thinks, as he facepalms. Jacques Williams watches from the infirmary.

- "I knew he still wasn't giving it his all."

He thinks, recalling his match with Francsico.

Tamar breaks the silence and rushes in again. Francisco doesn't budge. She throws a straight, he dodges ever so slightly to conserve stamina, making it look like the attack phased right through him. Tamar, confused by what just happened, slips back.

- "What!? Did that punch just go through him!?"

Francisco gets into a taunting position, signaling her to bait her into an attack. Tamar doesn't take the bait and just continues keeping her distance.

Hobin swallows his saliva in fear.

- "It was just one dodge, and yet that told me everything I needed to know…but still."

He thinks, gripping his fist.

- "GO TAMAR! YOU CAN DO IT!!!"

He shouts, cheering her on.

Tamar goes in for a rush of attacks. Throwing jabs and straights, mixing them up with low kicks, but Francisco dodges all of them.

- "None of Tamar's attacks are landing! Is Francisco just that fast!?"

As Leonardo rests on his bed, Jack continues watching the fight.

- "No, he's fast, but this isn't just a display of speed. Francisco's read ahead, making it seem like he's moving at insane speed."

Analyzing Francisco's movement.

- "It's easier to tell as a 3rd party, but this must be messing with Tamar Dadiani's head right now."

He continued.

As Jack posited, yes, it was messing with Tamar. What's the point of her strength if she's unable to hit him? She continued throwing strikes, but she eventually tires herself out. She steps back in order to catch her breath.

- "None of Tamar's hits are actually landing! Is Francisco really in the arena right now or is that just a hologram of him!?"

Francisco takes a deep breath.

- "You are strong, Tamar Dadiani."

He says, praising her. Tamar thinks he's being dishonest, so she dismisses the compliment.

- "Which is why I cannot allow myself to hold back. I paid the price by underestimating Jacques Williams, I shall not make the same mistake twice."

He adds. Tamar stays silent, opting to not waste her breath on pointless talk. She goes for a low stance, preparing for a fast tackle. Francisco adjusts. She bursts forth with explosive power and speed, but Francisco prepares to block it. Tamar switches it into an uppercut, looking to catch him off guard. Francisco slips his head back in time, and counters with a knee kick to the jaw, sending her stumbling back.

- "Damn!? Francisco really doesn't want to get hit it seems!"

Tamar recomposes and goes for a few more punches, which all get dodged. She's growing frustrated, while Francisco remains calm. She takes a step back to think about her game plan.

- "Looks like she wants to recover a bit of that lost stamina!"

She starts analyzing him but slowly realizes that he has little to no openings.

- "Damn, how am I supposed to beat this guy!?"

She thinks to herself.

Tamar charges forward anyway, continuing to throw punches and kicks, despite them just being dodged effortlessly.

- "Tamar still hasn't given up!"

Then, Tamar gets too close for comfort, pressuring Francisco, which causes him to parry the attack instead of dodging it. This little lapse in judgement allows Tamar to land a spinning back elbow to the face, which she chains with a shoulder throw to the ground.

- "Oh!? Tamar's finally got him! And he's on the floor as well!"

Tamar attempts to strangle him, but Francisco rolls away in time. Tamar tries to follow up, but Francisco throws a front kick, causing her to stop her charge as to not get hit by it. As she steps back, Francisco rushes her with an elbow to the jaw. Tamar stumbles backwards onto the ground.

- "Tamar's been hit by another devastating attack!"

Francisco goes in to finish her off, but Tamar rolls away. As she gets back up, he hits her with a soccer kick to the face, causing her to roll away.

- "Francisco's not done throwing attacks it seems!

Tamar's vision is getting blurry. On top of losing a lot of stamina by throwing punches that weren't able to land, she got hit with three nasty attacks to the head. She shakily gets back up.

- "Goddamn. Why does he hit so hard..!?"

She thinks to herself, before slapping herself back to her senses. Francisco charges her, unexpectedly. He throws a few punches and low kicks as well. She dodges and parries, but she's unable to respond as well as he did.

- "Francisco's going on the offensive now! Tamar's trying her best to keep up, but it looks like all that wasted breath in the beginning is starting to catch up."

But the moment before an attack is at its strongest, it is at its weakest. Francisco throws a straight, but Tamar anticipates it and counters with an elbow uppercut, stunning Francisco.

- "Tamar's countered Francisco! It's her chance to make a comeback!"

Tamar pushes forward, hitting Francisco with multiple body blows, targeting parts like the liver and the solar plexus, and ending her combination with a massive roundhouse kick to the head, sending him to the ground.

- "Looks like Francisco couldn't dodge that combo! Tamar's finally got her hits in!"

Tamar takes a moment to catch her breath. Francisco stands right back up, dusting himself off and spitting out the blood that Tamar was able to draw. Tamar smiles. It looks like it wasn't as hopeless as it seemed. Francisco recomposes himself.

- "Francisco's readying himself up for her next attack!"

She's pumped up.

- "I can win!"

Just as that thought crosses her mind, Francisco rushes in. He threw a punch; Tamar tried to counter but it was bait. He counters Tamar's counter, and hits her with an uppercut to the jaw, stunning her.

- "Ah there it is. The start of his Red Dance."

Jitae says to himself, noticing what Francisco is about to do.

Tamar tries to throw up a guard, but Francisco pries it open to hit her with a headbutt to the nose, further stunning her and causing her to have a nosebleed.

Francisco pushes her forward with his shoulder, leading into a leg sweep causing her to be unbalanced. Francisco hits her with a side kick to the body, followed up by a high kick to the temple. She falters but remains standing. She tries to form a guard once again, but Francisco grabs her arms and knees her in the stomach. He follows up with an elbow to the temple and an elbow uppercut to the jaw.

- "Francisco's not stopping! Tamar's getting lit up with nonstop attacks!"

Tamar's consciousness is fading as she's getting assailed by high powered strikes all over her body. She tries her best to counter, but Francisco drops down low and hits her with a double kick to the torso, sending her back.

- "Is this it!? Is it over!?"

Francisco stays cautious.

- "All of those hits were meant to knock her out, she's probably still holding on even after that last one."

He thinks to himself. Jawad Uzman was looking on in the infirmary.

- "It'll take more than that to put her down."

He thinks to himself.

She rises from the ground. She shakily puts her guard back up. Blood is gushing from her mouth and nose, as well as from the various cuts and bruises she received during that combination of attacks. She's barely conscious, but she starts grinning. Francisco has obviously noticed the change.

- "And just like that, Tamar is back up again! She defeated powerhouses like Jawad Uzman and Aleksandr Jovovich, it's gonna take more than that to put her down!"

She charges in with what little stamina she has left, going for an eye poke, but Francisco counters. Going for a backflip into a kick to the jaw, causing her legs to buckle.

- "ROLLING THUNDER!!!!!!! BUT TAMAR'S STILL UP!"

Francisco gets up and immediately follows up with a hook to the jaw, but Tamar stays standing.

- "What a show of willpower! But that's not going to help if she's not going to throw a strike back!"

Tamar tries to counter, but Francisco lifts his leg up for an upper kick to the jaw, stunning her.

- "Game over."

Francisco silently says, dropping his leg with an axe kick and scarring Tamar's face, revealing her upper gum and teeth. She is knocked out and drops to the floor. Hobin runs towards Tamar's knocked out body before the match was officially called. The referee drops his hand down.

- "And the winner is…FRANCISCO "THE CRIMSON MOON OF MINDANAO" LUNA!!!"

Hobin silently glares at Francisco. Francisco returns the gesture. Hobin looks away. He carries Tamar to the infirmary. Francisco leaves the arena as well. On the way to the infirmary, he sees Genryuuzan. They share a short but respectful nod before moving along.
