Chapter 128 - Chapter 128: Death of Setsuna! Something happened to Naruto and Sasuke!

Some members of the Uchiha clan had indeed done some pretty insane things to awaken their Sharingan. Take Uchiha Fugaku, for example—he literally threw four-year-old Itachi onto a battlefield just to trigger it.

That was already considered extreme beyond belief. Back then, his actions shocked many in the clan.

But ironically, it also solidified his position as clan head. People saw just how far Fugaku was willing to go—how ruthless he could be.

What no one expected was that someone had done something even more extreme than that.

That someone... was Elder Uchiha Setsuna.

And if everything Chizumi was saying was true, then Setsuna's behavior went way beyond "extreme." It was straight-up monstrous. The kind of thing that made people question why someone like that even existed in this world.

No wonder a bunch of the Uchiha radicals nearby were now staring at Setsuna like they didn't know who he was anymore.

"Uchiha Chizumi!" Setsuna finally broke his silence. He knew that if he didn't speak up now, even the radicals who supported him might start doubting him.

He cut in sharply, "So your special eyes can see the evil of the past—fine. But who's to say what you say you saw is what you actually saw?"

"If you can't prove it, then all you're doing is slandering me—a clan elder! Using some absurd excuse to target me!"

That got some gears turning. After all, if Chizumi was the only one with that power, then he could accuse anyone he wanted and no one would be able to stop him.

Chizumi, totally unfazed, replied coldly, "Then how about we cut off your head and send it to the Yamanaka clan? They'll be able to verify if I'm lying or not."

"…What?!"

Setsuna froze. He noticed a few clan members suddenly looking as if a light bulb had gone off in their heads.

No way… They're actually agreeing with that?

Damn it!

Even if it proved he was innocent, he'd still be dead!

And worst of all… Setsuna knew he wasn't innocent. That was the real problem.

Before he could say anything else, Chizumi kept going, "So you're really going to protect someone like him?"

His thumb pushed lightly on the sword guard. With a click, a few inches of gleaming steel slid out.

His voice turned cold. The air was getting heavier by the second. "I'm not going to wait. Twenty seconds. Move. Twenty… nineteen…"

Each word hit like a blade. Everyone around felt a chill crawl down their spines.

Behind him, Izumi placed her hand on her own hilt. If Chizumi made a move, she'd be right behind him—no hesitation. No backing down.

Even Jujirō, perched on her shoulder, arched its back and bared its fangs.

In the back, Mitarashi Anko sucked in a breath.

Now she remembered why that name—Uchiha Setsuna—felt so familiar.

And now she knew exactly what Chizumi was about to do.

—He was going to execute a clan elder.

—In the name of justice.

Anko snapped to attention. She knew this was Chizumi's test for her. And every ninja present here? Hardcore Uchiha elites.

This was going to turn into a bloodbath.

"Uchiha Chizumi!" someone yelled when the countdown hit "fourteen."

A die-hard follower of Setsuna's coup plan stepped forward, biting out every word: "Elder Setsuna is the one who's going to lead us to a better future! He's the one who'll take down the Hokage and give the Uchiha full control of Konoha!"

"Your absolute justice is just your own version of justice! You don't give a damn about the Uchiha clan! I don't get why anyone believes in you, but I sure as hell don't!"

Behind him, Setsuna actually looked proud for the first time in a long while.

All those years training radicals had earned him their loyalty. And it showed.

That kind of devotion didn't get wiped out just because someone started preaching "Absolute Justice."

Anyone who'd wavered?

They were the disloyal ones.

"We don't recognize your so-called justice!" the guy continued. "You're trying to kill Elder Setsuna with some made-up excuse?! You've miscalculated!"

"We'd rather die than let you betray the clan! And we have ten—"

"One."

Chizumi's voice cut like a knife.

Clearly, he wasn't listening to any of it. He only cared about actions. Choices.

And this guy?

Had made the wrong one.

Suddenly—

Chizumi's eyes turned bright red—three tomoe spinning.

In a blink, his half-unsheathed sword flew free.

None of them even had time to react.

A streak of silver cut through the air—shhhhk!

The young radical's face froze, mouth still open in shock. Then—thunk—his head flew off, blood shooting from his neck like a fountain, spraying those around him.

"MEOW!" Jujirō sprang from Izumi's shoulder, his body enlarging mid-leap. WHAM! He crushed a chunin flat with a massive slam.

Bones cracked.

"AAAAAAGH!" the poor guy screamed in agony, and the rest of the crowd finally realized—Chizumi had actually started killing people.

One Uchiha flared his Sharingan in panic and barely blocked Izumi's blade from stabbing into his throat—clang!

"Uchiha Izumi!"

"Ninja Art: Twin Hidden Snake Hands!" Anko moved instantly—white snakes shot out from her sleeves, fangs snapping toward two other Uchiha.

In the blink of an eye, the battlefield erupted.

Those loyal to Setsuna gritted their teeth and fought back.

Others hesitated, then quietly took a few steps back, trying not to get involved.

That retreat made Setsuna's blood boil. But there was no time to scold anyone.

"Someone stop that little bastard! I'll get backup!" he shouted and bolted.

Yep. He ran.

He was old. He had no illusions.

If he were thirty years younger, sure—he'd throw down.

But now?

Yeah. Running made sense.

"Holy crap, it's actually happening," Fugaku muttered outside the estate. He could hear the chaos. Smell the blood. Glimpse the fighting through the cracks.

So Chizumi did go after Setsuna.

And now?

He wasn't afraid of anyone.

Not Fugaku. Not Setsuna.

As clan head, Fugaku should be charging in to stop it.

But…

He thought about what Setsuna had been trying to do—drag the entire clan into a coup.

And he hesitated.

Truth was, both Chizumi and Setsuna were dangers to the clan.

If either of them disappeared… maybe the future would look a little more stable.

Fugaku went still.

"…I really am a terrible clan head," he muttered.

And chose to stand back.

"Fire Style: Dragon Fire Jutsu!" A raging fire dragon barreled toward Chizumi—

—and was instantly blown apart by a blast of lava.

One radical jonin was completely swallowed. He didn't even get to use Izanagi.

The rest of the radicals? Some had already fled. The few who remained were barely holding on.

And the ones who were still fighting got tied down by Jujirō, Izumi, and Anko.

Chizumi—half his body glowing with magma, the other gripping a sword—impaled one ninja with his bare hand and stabbed another through the heart.

His Sharingan spun into a Mangekyō.

One look.

The enemy froze in place.

Slash.

Another one down.

Once five Uchiha were dead, the line broke.

Chizumi's eyes locked on the direction Setsuna had run.

And he chased without a second thought.

"Huff… huff…" Setsuna was wheezing like a dying dog.

His old body couldn't take this. Just sprinting made him feel like he might collapse.

If only I were younger…

Damn it!

Getting chased through Uchiha territory by a "brat"? It was humiliating.

He shoved a clueless civilian out of the way. "Outta my way!"

Where could he even run?

The village council? Hell no—they'd kill him themselves.

Only one option left:

Uchiha Fugaku.

Fugaku didn't want a war with Konoha. Surely, he wouldn't want a fight with Chizumi either.

If they fought together… they might just stop him.

He could only pray the other radicals were slowing Chizumi down—even three minutes might be enough.

"Urgh…" the civilian he shoved groaned.

Suddenly, someone grabbed the guy's arm and yanked him up effortlessly.

The man froze, wincing—then looked up.

Chizumi.

"You saw him run left, right?" Chizumi asked, totally calm.

GULP.

The civilian nodded like a bobblehead. No hesitation.

He was a little surprised, though.

Chizumi… didn't seem that scary?

He even helped him up!

But before he could process it, Chizumi was gone.

"…What the hell just happened?"

He stared blankly. "Wait… the guy who shoved me… that looked like Elder Setsuna… and Chizumi…"

"…was chasing him?!"

Meanwhile, Setsuna had slowed, panting hard, face twisted with rage.

"You damn extremist brat… after today, I swear I'll—"

Suddenly, a hot wind hit his back, reeking of sulfur.

His face paled.

He turned around—

"Chizumi, wai—"

Too late.

A flash of light.

A cold sweep around his neck.

His voice died. He reached up—his fingers came away wet.

"…Blood…?"

His pupils shrank. A red line appeared across his neck, deepening quickly.

His head tilted.

Thud.

It hit the ground and rolled several times.

His body collapsed.

And the head?

Those wide, lifeless eyes were still "staring" at Chizumi.

Silence.

[You have slain a "Red Name" Villain! Chakra increased. You've obtained: Uchiha Setsuna's full Sharingan potential (youth form).]

Chizumi flicked the blood off his blade, sheathed it, and looked around.

This was Uchiha territory.

On both sides of the street, civilians and police Uchiha were watching.

At least a dozen had just seen Chizumi kill an elder.

One of the cops gasped. "Th‑that's… Elder Setsuna?!"

He looked at Chizumi—

—and saw him staring straight at Uchiha Fugaku.

They locked eyes.

Chizumi said coldly, "If you want proof, go ask the Yamanaka."

Then he turned and walked away.

Didn't even glance at the corpse again.

Like the elder was nothing.

Fugaku, face unreadable, slowly stepped forward once Chizumi was gone.

His shoes squished in the spreading blood.

"…Elder Setsuna. When you decided to make Chizumi your enemy… did you ever think this might happen?"

He looked down at the corpse.

"Absolute justice… damn, it's extreme."

He glanced at the shocked crowd.

There was no way to contain this.

Everyone would know soon.

And once again, his standing with the clan would drop—for doing nothing.

He sighed quietly.

No one in this clan understands me…

If he'd stepped in, it would've sparked a civil war.

And maybe…

Maybe someone did understand.

Itachi… You get it, right?

And just like Fugaku predicted, word spread like wildfire.

The entire Uchiha clan was shaken to its core.

The most senior and respected elder of the radical faction, Uchiha Setsuna, had been beheaded in broad daylight by Uchiha Chizumi. Right there in the middle of the street.

At first, people thought it was a rumor.

But when they ran to the scene and saw it for themselves…

No one could say a word.

Setsuna's body and severed head were still lying there in the middle of the road. Fugaku hadn't even ordered anyone to clean it up.

Blood had pooled, then dried in a sticky mess across the stones.

Setsuna's lifeless face—locked in shock and rage—was a gruesome sight that seared itself into everyone's memory.

Some people ran straight to Setsuna's mansion.

It was trashed.

Signs of battle everywhere.

And nine dead bodies inside—every one of them from the Uchiha radical faction.

Soon, another elder from the radical faction rushed to the scene. He saw the destruction and immediately turned on the few younger radicals who were standing nearby, completely unharmed.

"What the hell happened?!" he growled. "Weren't you supposed to protect Setsuna with your lives?! Why are those nine dead, and you're all perfectly fine?!"

"Where's Setsuna now? Where's his body? Where's Chizumi?! Answer me, dammit—are you all deaf?!"

The young radicals kept their heads down. Silent.

They were the ones who had hesitated earlier.

The ones who stepped back instead of jumping into a pointless bloodbath.

And because of that—they were still alive.

Chizumi hadn't bothered with them.

"Say something!" the elder barked, raising his hand to slap one of them across the face—

—but the young man caught his wrist mid-swing.

"Elder," he said quietly. "We followed Setsuna because we thought he actually cared about the clan."

"But after what we saw—after what we learned—we can't pretend he was a decent leader anymore."

"We didn't side with Chizumi. We stayed neutral. That was our way of showing restraint."

"So don't start throwing your rank in our faces."

"This is the Uchiha. Strength is what matters. Chizumi beat Setsuna, gave us a damn good reason why, and made his case with action."

"That makes him right."

"We've done more than enough."

And with that, they turned and walked away—leaving the elder standing there in stunned silence.

A few seconds later, his face twisted with fury.

"Ungrateful traitors! Rotten trash! And that damn Chizumi… He actually dared to kill a clan elder?!"

"These brats are out of control!"

But no matter how much he raged, the fear in his eyes was impossible to hide.

He was scared.

Elsewhere.

After calming down a bit, Mitarashi Anko couldn't help but ask, "…So we killed an Uchiha elder. And nine more Uchiha. Isn't your clan head going to come after us for this?"

"Meow~ Fugaku the Scared-Eyes? What's he gonna do, scowl us to death?" Jujirō licked his paw casually, completely unbothered. "If he had the guts, maybe the clan wouldn't be so disrespected by the village."

"And besides…"

"Chizumi-sama stands for absolute justice. What's Fugaku gonna say? That we shouldn't have killed a scumbag?"

"If that's his stance, then he's siding with evil. Simple as that."

Anko blinked.

Did… did a cat just say something totally reasonable?

Honestly, it made sense.

Still… "Fugaku the Scared-Eye"? She was pretty sure the guy's nickname used to be "Fugaku the Wicked-Eye."

Maybe he'd gotten soft?

She stopped overthinking it.

Instead, she looked over at Chizumi—his clothes still soaked in blood—and gathered her courage.

"…Chizumi. So… did I pass your first test?"

He didn't look at her.

But his answer was everything she wanted to hear.

"Barely."

Her anxious expression instantly melted into a smile.

After everything Orochimaru had done to her… after everything she thought she'd lost…

She'd finally been acknowledged by justice.

Even if it was just a start, it was enough.

For the first time in years, she didn't feel like a tainted failure.

"Orochimaru…" she muttered, clenching her fists.

Eyes filled with hatred.

At the same time.

Outside Konoha.

"I'm finally back…"

Sarutobi Hiruzen stood in front of the village gates again after what felt like forever.

He had returned later than Chizumi because—well—Chizumi had left behind one hell of a mess in the Fire Capital.

So many nobles had wrongly assumed he was in league with Chizumi. Hiruzen had been forced to go door to door explaining himself, trying to clean up the fallout.

"Assassinating the Daimyō," "butchering nobles," "absolute justice"—none of that had anything to do with him!

And if he didn't get ahead of those rumors now, they were going to stick.

Forever.

He walked straight toward the Hokage building.

Only to be hit with a bombshell the second he got there.

Koharu and Homura informed him, almost casually: "Elder Uchiha Setsuna was killed. By Chizumi."

"…When?" Hiruzen asked, stunned.

He went quiet for a solid ten seconds.

Then muttered, "…So this is the welcoming gift I get for coming home?"

He rubbed his temples. His head was starting to ache again.

Honestly, he wasn't even mad.

Just tired.

Wait a second—why should he be mad about Setsuna's death?

Shouldn't this be a good thing?

A time to celebrate?

"…Damn," Hiruzen muttered, realizing even Koharu hadn't looked mad when she told him the news.

Homura added, "Honestly, this is good for Konoha. The most radical Uchiha is gone. That might keep them quiet for a while. And Itachi might not feel the need to take drastic action anymore."

"Chizumi's methods are extreme, but… this time, it actually helped."

Koharu sighed and added, "Doesn't change the damage he's caused. He still killed the Daimyō. He slaughtered the entire capital."

She shot a look at Hiruzen.

Didn't say anything.

But that look? It screamed: "This is your fault for not dealing with him."

Hiruzen ignored it.

He opened his mouth to say something—only for a Root ninja to burst in through the door.

"Koharu-sama! Hokage-sama! Homura-sama!"

"There's been an incident!"

"The Nine-Tails' jinchūriki… and Uchiha Fugaku's second son…"

"…Something's happened!"

Hiruzen: "!!?"

Meanwhile…

Chizumi's calm, blank eyes suddenly flickered with interest. A rare smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

Right in front of Izumi, Anko, and Jujirō, he spoke.

"Looks like Naruto and Sasuke just gave us a nice little surprise."

Jujirō perked up. "Those two kids? What'd they do?"

Izumi blinked. "Wait, how do you know that? You haven't even seen them since we got back…"

What she didn't know was—

Chizumi had just received a system notification.

[Your Absolute Justice followers have killed a "Red Name" villain! Chakra slightly increased. Reward: Bloodline Limit "Byakugan" unlocked! Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha have also gained a small chakra boost.]

As the message faded, Chizumi said coolly:

"Let's go."

"Huh? Where to?" Izumi hurried to follow.

"To the Hyūga compound," Chizumi answered.
