Chapter 81 - Sport Festival (4)

"We're definitely winning," Iceman said, carefully making sure Quicksilver didn't drop him.

Obstacles started appearing ahead—mostly spikes.

Quicksilver leaped effortlessly, dodging every single one.

Then traps triggered. Cannons fired nonstop at him, but as expected, he evaded them all.

"Reminds me of my training days. This is actually lighter than back then," Quicksilver remarked, pushing forward.

"Oh, there's the checkpoint."

"Just stop there, grab some water, and pick up the note."

Quicksilver relaxed a little, slowing down slightly.

...whoosh whoosh

"...?" Iceman heard something and shook Quicksilver's shoulder.

"What is it?"

"I hear something behind—"

WHOOOOSH

A trash can rocketed toward them at terrifying speed.

"!?"

Before Quicksilver could react, the trash can slammed into both of them.

"AGH!!"

The trash can and the mutants all tumbled together, rolling for a while until they finally reached the checkpoint.

"Ouch ouch ouch... Which bastard threw a trash can at us?" Iceman sat up, rubbing his head and glaring at the can.

Only to see the lid get kicked open hard, revealing two people.

"What?! It's you two!"

"God, it stinks like hell," Peter groaned.

"I thought I was dead..." Harry clutched his head from all the banging inside the can.

"How the hell did you two catch up to us?? He was clearly running super fast!!"

Peter and Harry turned to look at Quicksilver, who was still lying on the ground like he was dead.

"Uh... skill issue?"

"Don't give me that excuse! You guys—"

"Hey, look behind you," Harry pointed.

"Huh?" Iceman turned around.

Instantly, a wheelchair smashed straight into his face, knocking him flat.

"Oh shit!" The two ahegao-hoodie guys, whose clothes were now torn in places, quickly wheeled past the guy they just hit and sped toward the checkpoint.

"...well, let's go." Peter and Harry dragged their damaged ten-thruster trash can to the checkpoint.

"Oh! The first to reach the checkpoint is... students from the weaboo school!" Gwen announced cheerfully.

"Hehe, getting praised by Miku is a once-in-a-century blessing!"

"And second place... PETER!!!! OHHHHH, PETER, I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!! WOOOHOOO!!" Gwen bounced around like she was on a sugar rush, cheering wildly.

'Why the special treatment?' everyone thought.

Third place was Xavier's school—both mutants clutching their swollen heads.

"Phew, want something to drink, Peter?" Harry opened the fridge.

"Anything's fine," Peter said, sitting down nearby.

"Then take this."

Peter caught it and looked at his bottle.

Corn milk.

The two ahegao-hoodie guys didn't seem to need drinks; they happily pulled out waifu photos and admired them.

The mutants just drank plain water.

I twisted the cap and took a sip—my eyes lit up.

"Wow... this is actually good?"

"Right?" Harry sat beside me, chugging a Monster.

"I'll draw the note in a bit. Pray for me."

"You got it, Peter boi."

A while later, the others arrived—except the rainbow-flag school. To save time, everyone drew their notes immediately.

Peter pulled his out and read it.

"What does it say, Peter?" Harry asked nervously.

"..." Peter covered his face and handed the paper to Harry.

Harry looked and his eyes widened.

"...dude."

"Well... let's just get it over with."

While students from other schools drew their notes—some grimaced, some sighed in relief—Iceman and Quicksilver were speechless.

Their note read: [Find one mad scientist.]

Holy crap! Where are we supposed to find a mad scientist? Unless we grab Jubilee—

Both froze, then looked at each other.

"I got this," Quicksilver said, then vanished.

Having a speedster made everything weirdly easy.

"Let's see what everyone has to fetch! I hope Peter drew my note," Gwen said excitedly.

"I hope nobody drew the one to take my baguette," Teto said, happily munching away.

Then they saw Quicksilver zip back to the starting line and head straight for Jubilee.

"Huh?" Lee blinked as Quicksilver arrived, slung Jubilee over his shoulder, and bolted.

"Wait— AHHHHHH!!"

And he was gone.

"Pretty fast," Teto commented.

Then someone else came back.

The figure was extremely familiar to Gwen.

"PETER?! HE REALLY DREW MY NOTE?! YIPPEE!!" Gwen threw her arms up, ready for a hug.

Peter reached her spot, making Gwen even more certain.

"COME HERE, BABE!!"

And Peter scooped up Teto and walked off.

"..."

Gwen froze, standing there while the audience felt bad for her.

"Sorry for interrupting your baguette time," I said politely.

"Huh? Oh! No, no, it's fine!" Teto was caught off guard and got a bit shy.

So what did the note say?

Bring the heaviest girl.

And... yeah, this Teto was heavy. Even Peter, with his superhuman strength, felt the weight.

'If she sat on a public stone bench, it'd probably snap in half!!'

[Oi!! You already flirt with Gwen and I let it slide, now you're going for Teto too?! You two-timing bastard! This is cheating! You're cheating on me!!]

'I'M NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND!!'

"Peter!! Hurry up!!" Harry waved from inside the trash can.

I walked over and noticed Teto didn't seem thrilled about it.

"What's wrong? Don't like it?"

"Huh? No?" Teto forced a smile, but it was obvious she was lying.

"...No helping it. Harry!"

"Yeah?"

"You drive! I'll carry Teto on my shoulders so she doesn't have to touch the trash can!"

"??"

Both Teto and Harry stared wide-eyed.

"What are you waiting for?! Move!"

"Uh?! Okay okay!"

I grabbed the lid, placed it on top, and jumped onto it.

"Hey hey! We're gonna fall!"

"Do you trust me?" I looked her straight in the eyes.

"...well... yeah?"

"Then I won't let you down, Kasane Teto!"

I hoisted her onto my shoulders. The insane weight hit me immediately.

"Kuhh..."

"Y-you okay?!"

"I'm fine! Harry!!!"

"OUHHHHH!!!"

All ten thrusters roared to life. Teto, already nervous, got even more scared.

"HOLD ON TIGHT!"

Her thick, massive thighs clamped around my face—yeah, thighs that big.

Then all three of us blasted forward, leaving a sonic boom behind.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!"

Teto was on the verge of tears, hugging me tighter.

Since I'm Spider-Man, my feet stuck firmly, but that didn't mean I could fully handle Teto's weight.

Meanwhile, Quicksilver realized carrying both Iceman and Jubilee was a terrible idea—his body felt unnecessarily heavy.

But while speeding along, he sensed someone catching up.

He glanced back and instantly recognized them.

"UOHHHHHH!!!"

It was Peter, Harry best friend.

And he was carrying someone on his shoulders...

"...interesting."

Quicksilver grinned—a grin full of excitement.

He always loved racing. Whenever someone wanted to race him, he was all in.

But he always won. Sounds perfect, but to him, it got boring.

Winning too much loses its thrill.

So he always hoped someone could keep up—even if they only matched him at 5% speed.

Yet these guys... were still chasing while he was at 10%.

That was more than enough. He was happy.

Happy because someone could finally challenge him.

"Let's see how fast you really are!" His blue eyes glowed. A massive pressure wave exploded from him.

15% speed—full throttle.

Come on! Show me if you can keep up!
