Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

The whirlwind of mysteries might have scrambled its truths about, but the old man saw every one that was branded upon

the sash. It wasn't until a specific mark was set that he no longer cared about any other. Yanking the sash from the mysteries, he dropped his staff. One of the women bracing him caught it while he held a section of the sash in both hands, displaying the one mark before his eyes.

Behind Tamara, one of the dancing women stamped both feet upon the sash. The mark the old man cared about was framed between either foot. She bent down with a shout,

grabbing at the sash. Still shouting, she threw herself upright, pulling the sash with her, ripping that singled-out section free. She then bundled it up, targeted Joseph, and tossed it toward him.

As it sailed for where he was setting, the sash spread itself and tumbled through the air. Just before reaching him, the mark was facing toward the ground. It fell to settle upon his and Tamara's heads. Just before they were hidden underneath it, Tamara stole a kiss.
