Ah—there's something strange that keeps

happening across the multiverse. Possibilities fan out without end, each one wildly different from the next. Meanwhile, I—walking between worlds—have watched them all begin. Oddly enough, despite their differences, they share one constant: a child who finds the Omnitrix. That's the spark that marks the start of every world where Benjamin Kirby Tennyson exists—the trunk of a great tree whose branches are entire universes. Those branches? They're the opening scenes of countless Ben variants, each kicking off their own story. And I am here, there, everywhere in this void, watching—patient, amused—how each tale unfolds. Every thread follows its own timeline: some take the heroic road, others the unheroic. Deliciously inevitable.

As it an endless cascade. All of this plays out across infinite timelines, spiraling onward without the slightest hint of stopping. Every passing billionth of a second, new worlds bloom into existence. A marvelous spectacle, really—watching them sprout and grow, just as the prime Benjamin once did. Fascinating, isn't it? To see how each variant wrestles with the events that await them. As I've said before, the Benjamins always choose their path… yet their methods? Oh, delightfully diverse! Some remain naïve, bursting with that classic heroic spirit. Others, ah, they prefer cunning—clever little stratagems. Some do not hesitate to soil their hands, while a few couldn't care less about the weight of responsibility at all. And still, each is Benjamin.

But lately something very bizarre has been happening along the universe's timeline branches. At first it looked ordinary—a new branch where a Benjamin variant newly appeared, as they always do—but this one was different, in a very peculiar way. The first thing that crossed my mind was Eon's meddling; the branch felt forced, unstable, even glitching for a while before it sputtered into something like stability then glitchy again. I should've left it alone and watched the others, but—curiosity killed the cat, did it not? I tried to peer into that world. Imagine my surprise: I couldn't enter. Not me. Professor Paradox. Never before has a branch barred my passage. It truly shocked me. This has never happened.

I kept trying to break into that world with all the strength I had, trying to get in again and again—still I couldn't get in. I was starting to think this was really Eon's doing, he attaching branches or create a new reality variant of other Ben, Is it for him to manipulate for his own ambition? That not good, always not quite good if it connected to eon, but that makes me have more questions, how could he create a branch timeline variant of Ben—i believe that beyond his power, how he could put it here at time line branch? Without make disturbing in time stream. And lastly if this his doing, what kind menthol as i—professor paradox couldn't enter this time line...

I kept hammering at that world's barrier with every ounce of force I possess it make the surface of it have vibrations on its then start glitchy again as i forcing myself to enter that world—again and again—yet still I could not get in. As I said before, I began to suspect Eon. My guess was he was grafting branches or sewing a new reality-variant of some other Ben. To what end? To tinker, to manipulate, to feed his own rotten ambition? Not good—never good when Eon sniffs around.

But that only stoked more curiosity. How could he spawn an honest branched-timeline variant of Ben? That strikes me as beyond his ken; I know his limits. Even with his stubbornness, he shouldn't be able to pull this off. And if—if—he could, how on—or rather, where in—the timestream did he place it without making a mess of the rest of the branches?

And the strangest part: if this truly is his handiwork, what sort of method would bar me—Professor Paradox—from entering that timeline? Hmmm. Intriguing. Infuriating. Deliciously inexplicable...

———

When I stopped to think, a horrible laughter crept in — "Hehehe… hehehehe…"

A child's laugh? No. Not a single child at all. The sound warped and echoed, folding through different pitches and volumes as if several people were laughing at once, all mashed into one.

"Hello? Who goes there?" I called. The laugh kept shifting — men, women, children, elders — a little choir pretending to be one voice. Strange company for a void that should hold only neatly ordered timelines. I'd thought that glitchy branch was Eon's handiwork, but now… hm. I wasn't him. it's them. Or some other thing.

That tiny new branch — the freshly spawned new Benjamin variant — was flickering, glitching. As the voice I assumed created this world changed shape from one moment to the next: a boy, then a woman, the tone sliding and warping like a corrupted radio. Then the voice — whatever it was — said, "Go ahead… hehe." It sounded almost like an invitation.

It woke my curiosity. The being reminded me of a child, and yet it wasn't — its voice kept shifting and echoing, like more than one consciousness folded together. It refused to show itself. Still, I couldn't help it; curiosity kill a cat (and the stubborn scientist i am) wanted to step inside...this bizzare newly universe...

....

...

As i pushed myself into this new universe and opened my eyes. At first everything looked massive — like I'd shrunk — but the longer I looked, the weirder it felt. I can change my size at will, usually without much trouble, but this was different. The floor beneath me wasn't a floor at all but fresh wood — still in the shape of a tree, sap and all.

I took a step to look around, and my tail flicked. Wait — tail? I examined myself and, to my astonishment, I was a squirrel. A weirdly buff squirrel. Someone — or something — had forced my form into this furry little package, very weird sense of humor. I tried to shift back into human shape, as I so often do, but I couldn't. The thing that made this world had pinned me into this body so I could… observe its Benjamin. Hmph. Intriguing. Annoying.

Mildly embarrassing. But also, utterly irresistible. As i started moved around the trees, looking like I was in some neighborhood — Bellwood, 1995, if the place had to have a time. I kept darting from yard to yard, dodging a house dog that kept trying to bite me (very Rude muds). After a while I finally found Benjamin Kirby Tennyson's house in this world.

I climbed the fence and hid in a tree to get a better view. There was a toddler in the yard — looked about three — and he was doing something strange. I could see… an Anodite energy around him.

How is that possible? Is this one of those universes where Gwendolyn has the Omnitrix, like in the other thirty-six worlds where she's the one wielding it?

But that didn't really fit. The three-year-old Benjamin already had his Anodite DNA awakened in such young age— unbelievable. His body was wrapped in a faint, transparent green energy, not the usual magenta you see with other Anodites. As I watched closer I felt something from him: first, he siphoned a little of my life force (even through this squirrel body) — that surprised me — and second… the other energy inside him felt different.

I told myself Ben shouldn't have that. When I realized he'd seen me, I thought he knew I'd been watching, but he didn't seem to care. He just kept doing whatever he was doing.

Ah—fascinating i said watching this young variant of Benjamin. The moment I tried to get a closer look, space itself gave a tug and flung me back through the weave of time. In an instant the squirrel skin fell away and I was my human self again, hauled into the present by whatever curious agency watches over that place and created it. It granted me a window and access for it— a finite slice of time — and then, without ceremony, shut the door. I could feel the trace of a temporal ward: I'm barred now, politely but firmly, from slipping back in whenever whim takes me. Most unpleasant, but exquisitely punctual.
