Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Testing

Jason stared down at the crater he had just created, still trying to wrap his mind around the power he now wielded. The sheer force of that punch, done without even a hint of cursed energy, had been overwhelming. But he knew this was only the beginning.

'Let's see what happens when I really try,' he thought, a mix of excitement and apprehension tingling in his veins. He raised his fist again, this time channeling cursed energy into it. The power thrummed through him, wild and chaotic, but also entirely under his control. He could feel it flowing through his body, dense and powerful, like a river of molten steel.

With a breath, Jason unleashed his fist again, driving it into the ground with purpose.

The result was immediate and devastating. The earth didn't just crack it exploded. A shockwave ripped through the ground, sending rocks and debris flying in all directions. When the dust settled, Jason found himself standing at the edge of a crater that was easily three times larger than the first, the ground scorched and split as though struck by a meteor.

He whistled softly, shaking his head in awe. 'This is insane,' he thought, his heart racing with the thrill of it all. He had barely tapped into the full potential of his cursed energy, yet the power he wielded was beyond anything he could have imagined.

But he wasn't done yet.

He closed his eyes, focusing on the cursed techniques that now resided within him. His mind went over the knowledge of Cleave and Dismantle, processing the raw destructive capabilities they held. Opening his eyes, he decided to put them to the test and see just how destructive they could actually be.

In a flash, he shifted through the forest, his speed now enhanced by the cursed energy flowing through him and the knowledge of Sukuna so he didn't have to learn everything again. The trees around him blurred as he moved, the world passing by in a rush. He stopped abruptly, standing amidst a thick grove of trees, and raised his hand.

'Cleave,' he thought, visualizing the technique in his mind. A sharp, invisible force sliced through the air, and the trees in front of him were suddenly split into clean halves, the trunks sliding apart as though cut by a blade. The precision was astounding; he had controlled the technique perfectly, cutting through the trees with just enough force to demonstrate its power without causing too much destruction.

Jason's smile turned into a smirk, satisfied with the result. But he wanted more. He had to push further, test the limits of his new abilities.

He shifted through the forest again, this time raising the intensity of his attacks. He unleashed Dismantle, a wave of destructive energy ripping through the landscape. Trees were torn apart, the ground was split open, and the air crackled with the raw force of the attack.

Jason continued to shift, moving from place to place with lightning speed, experimenting with the range and power of his techniques. He adjusted the size and intensity of the slashes, moving from massive, earth-shattering cuts to tiny, precise incisions. The control he had was remarkable, but he could still feel that there was more to master, more to her accustomed to and familiarize himself with.

As he continued his tests, something in the forest caught his attention. A low, menacing growl echoed through the trees, followed by the sound of heavy footsteps. Jason turned to see a massive creature emerge from the shadows a Profound Gorilla, its dark fur bristling as it lumbered toward him.

He recognized it instantly. 'A Profound Beast,' he thought, his mind recalling what he knew of these creatures from his knowledge of "Against the Gods." This one was large, at least ten feet tall, with muscles bulging beneath its thick hide. Its eyes glowed with a primal, ferocious intelligence, and it bared its fangs in a snarl as it charged at him.

Jason stood his ground, watching the beast with a cold, calculating gaze. 'Let's see how strong you really are,' he thought, his excitement tempered by curiosity. He didn't move as the gorilla came closer, its massive fists swinging toward him with enough force to shatter boulders.

But to Jason, it was nothing.

With fluid grace, he sidestepped the attack, his body moving with the speed and precision of a seasoned warrior. The gorilla's fist slammed into the ground, sending a shockwave through the earth, but Jason was already behind it, dancing around the beast with ease.

'Their strength is decent,' he mused, watching the beast as it roared in frustration, swinging wildly at him. 'But their speed… slow. Too slow.' He weaved through the attacks effortlessly, feeling almost bored as the creature tried and failed to land a single blow.

As the gorilla swung at him again, Jason caught its fist in mid-air, his hand closing around it like a vice. He looked up at the beast, his eyes cold and uncaring. "I don't have time for you, trash," he said, his voice low and menacing, 'Where did that come from?'

The gorilla roared in anger, trying to pull its fist free, but it was too late. Jason smirked as he channeled Dismantle, his cursed energy flaring up. The gorilla suddenly stiffened, its roar dying in its throat as its massive body began to fall apart, sliced into hundreds of tiny cubes.

Jason watched as the pieces of the gorilla's body collapsed to the ground, blood pooling around them. He sighed, the rush of the kill already fading. 'That was a bit too easy… I think I now understand how easy it is for people to get drunk with power,' he thought, a smile creeping onto his face.

Then, without warning, he began to laugh a deep, unsettling sound that echoed through the forest. It wasn't the laugh of a man; it was the laugh of a demon, a monster reveling in the destruction he had caused.

'Why am i laughing?'

Another gorilla charged at him from the side, its roar shaking the trees. Jason didn't stop laughing. Instead, he moved with blinding speed, dodging the beast's attack with ease. His hand shot out, and before the gorilla could react, it was sent flying backward, its chest caved in from the force of Jason's punch.

He didn't even need to use cursed energy for that one.

The remaining gorillas charged at him, driven by primal fury. But to Jason, they were nothing more than toys. He dispatched them with ease, his movements a blur as he tore through them with a combination of speed, strength, and brutality. Occasionally, he would use Dismantle, sending a wave of cursed energy to slice through a gorilla, but for the most part, he relied on his raw physical power.

As he fought, Jason's thoughts were focused and sharp. 'These creatures are strong, but

too predictable.' He felt his body moving with a grace and power that he had never known before, every action perfectly in sync with his thoughts. 'This body… these abilities… I really need to get myself in control don't I?'

When the last gorilla fell, sliced cleanly in half by a final Dismantle, Jason stood amidst the carnage, not even breathing heavy but grinning from ear to ear. His body was covered in blood, his kimono stained with the dark red of the gorillas' lifeblood, but he didn't care. He felt alive, more alive than he had ever felt before.

He looked around at the devastation he had caused, the bodies of the gorillas strewn across the ground, and felt a surge of satisfaction before frowning at how he acted… almost like sukuna himself. 'This power… it's mine now it belongs to me not the other way around,' he thought, clenching his fist as the last remnants of cursed energy crackled in the air around him.

'And this is only the beginning.'
