Chapter 258 - Holiday date 2

Andria's POV

"I can tell already," I muttered to myself.

Lady Eskareth didn't pretend not to hear; she rarely did. 

Her fingers tightened briefly around mine, not enough to restrain, just enough to remind me that from this moment onward, I was under her roof, her watch and her unspoken rules. 

But there's actually nothing she offers that I wouldn't take. So far, she has been more of a mother than my foster mother ever was. 

We exited the sick bay through the rear passage, where the smell of antiseptic faded into the cold evening air. The academy loomed behind us, tall and mysterious as ever.

"Do you miss Ashwood?" Lady Eskareth whispered.

"Not really, but it was a breath of fresh air in comparison to my real life," I answered her.

A black carriage waited outside the gates. I turned to look at Lady Eskareth.

"This is so vintage. Do we still use this in this century?" I teased.

She ignored me, but nodded her head, signaling me to get in.
