Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Irisviel: The Bad Woman Was Me After All?!

"Jiuan?" Irisviel looked at the boy outside the door in disbelief. Is it really him?

"Made it in time." Seeing that Irisviel was safe, Lin Jiuan breathed a sigh of relief and was about to step into the room.

But Irisviel suddenly became vigilant again, manipulating her silver threads to hover in the air. "Stop!"

"Mrs. Irisviel?"

"Tell me something that only the two of us would know!" she said, her face a mask of caution.

Lin Jiuan was taken aback, but he quickly understood her meaning. Many assassins had the ability to disguise themselves as others. While it hadn't happened in the Holy Grail War before, the tactic of disguising oneself as someone close to the Master to get near for an assassination was something to be wary of. Clearly, Irisviel suspected he was an assassin in disguise.

"The first time we met, you took me for a bath, and after looking at my... 'thing'... you told me to call you Mrs. Iri—"

"Shut up!" Irisviel's face instantly turned beet red. She retracted her mana-controlled threads, rushed to the door, and clamped a hand over his mouth. "What on earth are you talking about?!" You make it sound like I'm some kind of perverted degenerate who preys on little boys!

"Mmph, mmph?" Lin Jiuan looked innocent. Didn't you tell me to say it?

"I told you to say something, not to make things up! When did I ever look at your 'thing' and then..." The more Irisviel spoke, the redder her face became, until even her small earlobes and swan-like neck were flushed. Her hand over his mouth unconsciously loosened, because she realized that although his description was a bit crude and left out the beginning and end, the situation at the time was indeed like that.

"So, does Mrs. Irisviel recognize me now?"

"Shut up!" Irisviel glared at him, a mix of shame and anger on her face, and pinched his cheek. "How come I never noticed before that you were such a naughty and lewd little thing?"

Though she said this, she still joyfully pulled him into her arms. Closing the door, she carried him to the bed and sat down. "You were with Aoi Tohsaka, weren't you? How did you suddenly end up here?"

"I was worried about you, wasn't I?"

"Worried about me?" Irisviel asked in surprise. "What could happen to me?"

"I heard from... certain channels... that the other Masters think Artoria is too strong, so they've decided to tie her up and send an Assassin to kill you."

Irisviel's expression turned serious. She didn't doubt where he got his information. "I'll call Saber back now."

"No." Lin Jiuan immediately stopped her. Meeting her somewhat nervous and confused gaze, he explained, "If Artoria comes back, the assassin will definitely flee and look for another chance. And Artoria can't always be by your side in the future, can she? Why don't we take this opportunity to counter-kill them?"

"But..." Irisviel hesitated. "You're here too, Jiuan." If it were just her, she might have tried his plan for a permanent solution. But with him here, she didn't want to risk his safety.

"Don't worry. I'm much stronger than you think. Speaking of which, that assassin is my defeated foe. He's the one I fought when I left your house that day, the one who made that big crater."

"They're targeting you and Artoria precisely because they can't deal with me."

Irisviel's eyes still held worry, but she nodded. "Then I'll listen to you." Then, she asked curiously, "How did a woman like Aoi Tohsaka let you come over?"

Lin Jiuan couldn't help but think of Aoi, who had passed out on the bed, still twitching, when he heard from Rin that Kiritsugu was coming to assassinate Irisviel. But he said, "Actually, Mrs. Tohsaka isn't as bad as you think. She's a very good woman."

"Jiuan, were you seduced by that bad woman's body?" Hearing him speak well of her rival, Irisviel unhappily pinched his cheek. "Doing that sort of thing isn't for someone your age, you know?"

As she spoke, Irisviel remembered the bathroom incident he had just described. Her face flushed slightly, but she still lectured him like an experienced elder. "Even if you are gifted, that kind of thing..."

"Alright, alright, Mrs. Irisviel. Speaking of the assassin, since I've beaten him before, he probably won't dare to show himself under normal circumstances while I'm here." Although his way of changing the subject was too obvious, Irisviel didn't dwell on it. In any case, it was enough that he had returned to her side. "Then what should we do?"

As an Assassin, Kiritsugu had 'A+' Presence Concealment. Combined with his Time Alter ability, he could slow down his breathing and heartbeat, stop his metabolism, and lower his body temperature to match the surroundings to avoid detection. Even though Lin Jiuan was sure he was in the castle, it was difficult to find him without getting close.

"Mrs. Irisviel, can you do me a favor?"

"As long as it's something you ask, Jiuan, I'll do it," she said without hesitation.

"Then... can you be my woman?"

"Eh?!" Irisviel's eyes widened, her left eye screaming 'impossible', her right eye screaming 'disbelief'. "Wh-What did you say?"

"I want Mrs. Irisviel to be my woman." Lin Jiuan looked seriously into her eyes. He was simply thinking that when he had slept with Aoi in front of Tokiomi, it had made the usually calm and elegant man lose his composure completely. Even if Kiritsugu didn't know Irisviel, based on his behavior in the original story, he clearly saw her as different from others. Perhaps it would reveal a flaw. Besides, he still had to rush over to Rin's side later, so he needed to add as much combat power as possible.

It's definitely not because I find it exciting and want to recreate that classic scene from the Tohsaka house, or because I'm lusting after Irisviel's body!
