As soon as a bite had been taken, Emma's eyes welled up. Hani watched in horror as Emma continued to chew on the meat. Emma had a shaky smile on her face as she did so. The scent of the wings continued to move towards Hani, who covered her nose and shuffled back.
"Emma, I don't think that's safe. I can't even stand the smell of it. Are you sure it's ok? You don't have to eat it just cause you ordered it, you know." Hani looked at Emma with concern.
Emma finished swallowing the piece in her mouth "No, Hani, I am fine. I love a good spice challenge. I have conquered every single one of their other spice levels, so I can do this, too." Emma stares at the half-eaten wing and pauses.
She can still feel the burning sensation in her mouth. At this point, any sense of taste did not exist for Emma. Slowly, she raised the poison-like wing into her mouth and took another bite. She chewed on it and, for a second, sat still.
