Chapter 92 - Another Dream

After taking a deep breath. Selina collected her thoughts and began analyzing her recent interaction.

She sighed upon realizing her paranoia, a brief chuckle escaped her lips, "I think it's right how my colleagues once teased as being a scaredy cat."

Her hand stopped from pressing each other onto her chest. Lowering them she added, Mr. Morroy will be my neighbor from now on. Interacts may not be avoidable. However I still have to be weary...

His hand... He seemed to be readying himself to lounge at me and drag me inside... I hope that's not the case. The expression he gave was unbecoming of a gentleman...

Selina took a deep breath and turned for the grand clock.

"5:12...", she muttered.

I still don't know much about Mr. Morroy as human. Perhaps being thrown from his promising status may have been a factor to his current well-being...

Then she shook her head and said to herself, What I did was already enough. That is as far as being a concerned citizen should go...

With that said. Selina locked the entrance and began heading upstairs.

Her shower was short and after preparing a dish for the black cat that had entered one hour later. She entered her bedroom, intending to visit the mysterious dreamworld to resume her documents.

...

The luscious greenery resurfaced in Selina's arrival.

Perhaps because of her last visit. The plain meadow that illustrates the infinite horizon was blanketed by mountains and trees.

In silence, she raised her hand.

Her delicate pale fingers twisted one after another. Each were in a grotesque form, appearing like a root ladened with thorns.

A sap seeped from the crevices of her skin molds into multiple thin sheets. Words outlined themselves.

They became the documents, the young priest had sacrificed her.

"I wonder when will that believer of mine pray the sacrificial ritual..." Selina mumbled before lifting a page.

She skimmed each pages until she reached an entry containing a grid. Each column had names, signatures and their corresponding pathways.

This particular page seemed to had been written hastily as the surface were smooth in comparison to the previous entries.

There was no organization's name, just a record of each members of the organization starting with the name:

"Falor Burmingham (Falor Aurmir). An Ancient Vampire."

Aurmir? Isn't that the name of a beverage? Selina acutely noticed the detail and she immediately took note before resuming to the next twenty-nine members.

Yesir Burmingham. Also apart of the surname Aurmir and a Sequence 8 Apothecary... She continued.

"Dylan Hawkthorne. Sequence 8 Doctor."

"Romia Aldore. Another Sequence 8 Doctor..."

...

"Ruther Huddsman. Sequence 8 Doctor."

"Logan Paul. Sequence 7 Vampire."

"Noel London. A vampire. "

"Finally... Deimsfel Silver... Sequence 7 Vampire."

"That's a total of thirty members", Selina muttered as she carefully commits each name into memory.

So there was a Sequence name corresponding to a vampire... So Deimsfel is in the same sequence...

After brooding to herself for three seconds, she sighed before turning the page onto the next.

Here, it was seen as a journal. Written in a local Southernian Highlander.

Although on the surface one could tell it was a simple journal, in truth the contents seemed to dismantle the thought very subtly.

It reads; "The confirmation of the Rose School of Thought to consider us as their branch of factions was negotiated in a manner of a convened gathering among the higher beings of the organization. An exchange of oaths between an important book an our loyalty.

"This is crucial, our gathered group lacked resources and securement to prepare ritual necessary for the Goddess's resurrection. A promise, a distilled agreement. At this moment, the organization had taught us of the Goddess's ancient notes and their accumulated knowledge directing at an ancient palace reigned by Giants."

An ancient palace. Reigned by Giants... Selina felt like she was personally seeing her follower's interactions.

"Grandfather had already told such residence to us. It was the promised land, the designation of our journey. It was where the Goddess and her Groom had once came into a union, producing us, her descents.

"This was common knowledge among us. However, the revelation of her name was unlike our beliefs. The Goddess had indeed designated Herself as the Child of God and thus forming our initial communication with the Goddess.

"But this connection was brief. Her title was given by Her in which the contact was abruptly cut off. We're now certain and determined to resurrect and regained out rightful place in the 'true' Earth Mother."

...

Hours had passed and Selina finally reached the entry's halted continuation. During this, the voices began whispering softly. Leaving her with no choice but to return.

Arriving at her bedroom, Selina remained at mattress as she gaze over the ceiling. Hair dishaveled.

She first drew a slow breath before reviewing the pages she read, "The organization first came from an isolated family of the Aurmir bloodline... It was then where Yesir's grandfather, Falor , received a revelation, somewhere in the current Epoch that the Goddess's spirit is waning.

"This initiates the urgency for the necessary mass rituals, forcing them to commit the remaining time in recruiting a group, in which to their surprise was also connected to their bloodline."

Selina curled her palm and pressed her index finger over her chin in contemplation.

"They may have seen this as fate... Giving them the morale to continue each attempt..."

"Yes!" she exclaimed. "It was said that the first attempt had successfully restored the Goddess's waning spirit that was isolated deep within the Spirit World. That ritual was the tribe dispute in the Southern Continent that worsened the conflict between the local and the Northern Continent's colonization.

"Other than that. Their origins can be summarized as the unification of scattered bloodlines and ambitious priests from the Harvest Church... Oh right, regarding their documented sightings of other secret organizations, only a few were confirmed.

"One was the Numinous Episcopate. The other was the Theosophy Order and lastly was the Psychological Alchemists."

She turned her body at the side. The crimson peeked at her from the veiled windows.

"The Psychological Alchemists are a group of enthusiasts covering the field of academics about the mind. They're quite active and would appear as spectators under a grand setting. Miss Justice is of a noble status, it won't be long for her to make contact with them..."

"Perhaps what she needs is a little nudge... This should be enough as a reward", Selina was in a good mood while thinking this.

However, this emotion did not last as her restlessness for her faction grew.

"Ambitious priests who abandoned the church in pursuit of honor, Child of God's faction... It would be hard for me to guide them", she muttered, before turning to her other again.

This rolling went on until her mind eased. Now she laid with her back on the velvet mattress. A sensation of heaviness clouding her.

From the serene yet deafening silence. Selina felt her thoughts drift.

...

The darkness burned a candle. Flickering and illuminating a small area across the endless expanse of void.

For a moment, it looked alone. The next, multiple lights began resurfacing from the darkness, almost as if a person was present.

The scene took a drastic change. At this moment it became a room.

There was three chains, hooking three individuals concealed by the darkness that the light failed to disperse. Below them lays a small cloth, wrapping what seems to be a toy.

Upon taking a closer looking. Their faces outlined themselves into the faint light, they were familiar.

The man appeared to be in his late forties, with a round face, a bit of stubble, and a lean build. While the woman had a lustrous look, with her brown hair and a full lips. One could compare her with a lady, challenged with the vicissitudes of nursing a life or two.

The child seemed to be their daughter. A youthful innocence paints her chubby face the gifted of ignorance.

As they dangle onto the chains, lifeless amid a pool of crimson. A black figure stepped onto the circle, following the candle's flames.

Apart from these three individuals. The figure left the center where suddenly, an idol was revealed.

It had a wooden stand, its face bore a falcon carved into the base while a head of a monk extends from its head.

The darkness seeped in and Selina's heart dropped.

The dream broke.

...!

Selina jolted awake. She suddenly saw that the dream transitioned into the pasture she had been familiar with.

Cold sweat damped her back. Behind the veil light, her thoughts fell into a spiral.

I'm... In the dreamworld... a surged of horror clogged her ability to breathe smoothly.

Marl... Martha... Little Odelle... her low voice shivered.

A ritual... W-Why did I dreamt of a ritual?

The mysterious world trembled. The beautiful blue sky cracked like a globe. Her feet began splitting into multiple vines ladened with thorns.

At this moment. Selina abruptly noticed the changes in the world. It was reacting to her emotions!

Fearing of the effects that might occur as a result. She forced her emotions to stabilize.

Calm down... Calm down...

A field of Slumber flowers appeared and cloaked the field in reflection of the tranquil night. Selina caught whiff of the serene scent.

Coupled with her a cogitation, she slowly achieved a level of regulation and began letting her emotions settle.

She drew a silent breath, Mr. Old Neil once mentioned that dreams are often our astral body's way of informing a danger...

I better report this to Captain... However, how is it that when that nightmare appeared, this dreamworld was the next to be manifested?

Selina wanted to carefully examine this event but the awareness of how the time relates to the outside world. She abandoned the idea and left her dream.

...

The horse-drawn carriage galloped out of Zouteland Street. Leaving Selina at a building of a company.

Amid her anxiety. She drew a breath and calmly opened the door.

She took a couple of steps before meeting the receptionist, Rozanne. Selina gave an affable smile as she first conversed about the weather.

Perhaps due to her lingering fear behind a facade. It did not take her long to promptly ask, "Is Captain present in his office?"

Rozanne thought for three seconds before she firmly nodded, "Yes, he's at the office. Are you planning on going there?"

"Yes", said Selina. "I have a matter to discuss."

"Alright", Rozanne smiled. "Be careful when taking the stairwell. Leonard almost fell down once due to hastiness of his steps!"

Selina felt her expression tumbled, forcing her to nod politely without a word.

...

Upon hearing Dunn's voice from the door. Selina let herself in and stopped just before the entrance.

"Here to ask the Ruther's accomplice?" said Dunn initiatively.

"No", Selina shook her head. "I came here for another matter."

"What is it?" asked Dunn, preparing his trench coat and top hat.

"Are you intending to leave?" A thought rose from seeing her captain adjust his gun-holster. Selina could not help but mention in case she being impolite.

Dunn chuckled, "I was asked by the Church to head to the cathedral. It was related to the issue of a suspect named Tris. I believe you have heard of him?"

"The instigator of the Alfalfa express tragedy?" answered Selina.

"Yes", Dunn confirmed. "It was actually Klein who helped in the case of identifying the person."

"Really?" Selina's shock was subtle, however she was also amazed.

Klein's Seer abilities is impeccable! I wonder if I would get similar abilities in the later Sequences. Perhaps then, I would not be pressured often...

Dunn gave a firm nod and said, "It was an unexpected discovery, but it was favorable. Now with this we can have a lead on his whereabouts. The issue now is that we are having difficulty in finding him."

"Why?" asked Selina curiously.

"Any possible clues had led us to a female lady's daily activities. Of course it would be strange to accuse just about anyone. The church even suspect that perhaps the man had become a dandy, leading to his use of women's products", Dunn's voice had a hint of humor into it.

"R-Really? Well I hope he would be arrested soon", said Selina with a pleasant voice.

Dunn finished adjusting his coat and asked, "So what brings you here?"

Selina straightened her poise and said, "I had a dream."

"A dream?" Dunn's face slowly became solemn.

"It borders on a nightmare. There was three people that I know. They were the Heath Family living next to me. They were hanged by a hooked and chained as they are suspended above a ritual site", Selina's lingering fear that she had been suppressing rose from her face as she recounted each scenes.

"There was a black figure who walked on the center. Afterwards, when he left there was an idol, a very tall one, it had wooden base as faces of an animal and human were carved in a stacking manner.

"I wish to know what this means", requested Selina after recovering for a bit.

Dunn fell silent and this response was enough to influence her into unease.

He looked at the shelves for exactly five seconds before finally saying, "Klein is currently away. Perhaps he'll be here by the afternoon. Until then try not to forget the nightmare you had and wait for our Seer.

"Your dream seems to be a mix of your astral intuition and a danger looming around you. I will let Klein dissect your dream, afterwards we will make countermeasures in case of it happening."

Dunn's eyes gradually turned darker. Suddenly, he smiled, "We will be holding an entrance party for Klein. Care to join?"

... Selina's tensed nerves showed confusion.

Realizing that her captain was trying to stabilize her emotions by mentioning other matters. She controlled her expression before saying, "Alright. Thank you for the invitation."

Dunn relaxed and reached for his top hat. He said as he opened the door, "We should get going."
