"You've been keeping secrets from me," he murmured, his voice low enough to crawl down her spine.
Celeste tilted her head, her lips curving slowly. "Would you prefer I told you every detail?"
Dominic's smirk was faint, dangerous. "No." His hand rose, slow and deliberate, until his fingers curled around the edge of her jaw. His thumb brushed her bottom lip, pressing lightly until it parted for him. "I'd rather discover them like this."
Celeste's breath caught, her body arching instinctively into his, but his grip tightened on her jaw. His mouth hovered over hers, dangerous with restraint.
"You're trembling," he whispered.
Her laugh was soft, teasing, but it wavered. "Am I?"
"Yes." He leaned closer, his breath warm against her cheek, and then, with a sharp motion, he stepped back. His hand fell from her jaw, but his eyes didn't release her.
