Chapter 214 - Echo across the stars

The battlefield erupted not with the primitive whistle of hurled spears, but with the deafening, synchronized thunder of modern artillery.

For the first time in the history of their occupation, the Franks found themselves staring down the barrels of their own superior firepower. The newly forged twin-barreled cannons, gleaming with the unnatural perfection of Noor's imagination, fired a relentless barrage into the vanguard of the Frankish army.

The impact was devastating. The explosive shells tore through the Frankish infantry lines, sending armored bodies flying like ragdolls amidst plumes of fire and pulverized earth. One of the massive, eight-legged Land Frigates took a direct hit to its front articulation joint. The thousand-ton beast groaned, metal shrieking against metal, before its front legs buckled. It crashed face-first into the dirt, its rear cannons firing wildly into the sky as it collapsed into a burning heap.
