Chapter 66 - Emergency Measures

Revy rushed to Amiya's bedside.

"Amiya! Amiya!"He shook her shoulders and placed his hand on her forehead. Her skin was burning hot—clearly, her condition was very unstable.

No matter how he called out, Amiya didn't wake up. It was like she was trapped in a nightmare and couldn't respond at all.

"Damn it! What's going on? Didn't Kal'tsit say her condition was supposed to be stable lately?!"

Cursing under his breath, Revy quickly pulled a small vial out from his bag. Kal'tsit had given it to him before the trip—an emergency β-blocker, meant to stop the spread of Originium infection temporarily if things suddenly got worse.

"Revy! That's not it!"

Theresia's urgent voice stopped Revy just in time. Revy checked Amiya's condition again.

"If she was having a flare-up, it wouldn't be this intense!"

"It's unstable Originium inside her body!" Theresia added anxiously. "It's just like the Overgrowth you used before!"

"...!"

Revy's heart sank.

The Overgrowth ability activated by viral particles supercharged a body's vitality, causing the internal cycle to go into chaos and collapse. When used on Originium, it made the substance grow wildly and uncontrollably—eventually consuming the host.

Revy had always thought this was a result of his Originium Arts. He didn't realize it came from the Gammagala bloodline inside him.

But right now, that bloodline was quiet and calm. There was no way it could be affecting Amiya without him knowing.

"…What should I do then? Will the β-blocker still work?"

"Highly unlikely! This isn't natural infection—it's a controlled force!" Theresia said quickly. "Medicine alone won't help. We need something else!"

"Like what?"

Revy looked down at Amiya, who was writhing slightly in pain. She looked like someone in the final stages of infection, with Originium crystals growing from her arms and legs.

The infected areas were dangerously close to her brain—her ears and eyes. If Originium reached her brain, not even a god could save her.

"Airborne Gammagala cells won't be enough…" Theresia muttered to herself. "We need a more direct method… more direct…"

"—I got it! Revy, kiss her!"

Without hesitation, Revy kissed Amiya's lips, taking her first kiss.

Revy had always followed Theresia's orders before thinking, so it wasn't until he felt Amiya's soft lips that he even questioned why he was doing this.

"Now listen carefully," Theresia said softly, almost holding her breath. "Slowly guide the Gammagala cells in your body into hers."

"Slowly. You're guiding—not invading. Her body can't take another collapse."

Through the kiss, he transferred the cells to stabilize the Originium in her body. It was basically a wet kiss in Durin-style terms—but Amiya was unconscious, unable to react, simply receiving the cells passively.

"Good. Now control those active particles inside her. Calm the Originium down. Make it circulate in a stable loop, supporting the infected parts."

Revy didn't need much guidance—his bloodline instinctively knew what to do. A power once meant for destruction and chaos was now being used to heal. He guided the Originium into a steady internal cycle, slowly repairing the infected areas.

Only Revy could do this. Anyone else, even with similar abilities, would be consumed by the Originium. Only Gammagala cells—stronger than Originium itself—could safely manage this.

It wasn't healing. It was helping the host and Originium co-exist.

After five minutes, Amiya finally stopped struggling. She let out a soft, peaceful sigh and fell into a restful sleep.

Revy let go of her, their lips parting with a thin string of saliva.

It had only been five minutes, but to Revy, it felt like half an hour.

And he wasn't doing well either. He was drenched in sweat. Using "order" took far more energy than "destruction." Normally, he could use Overgrowth to power up thousands of soldiers at once. But just helping Amiya for a few minutes had nearly drained him.

Still—the result was worth it. Amiya became the second person, after Revy, to achieve symbiosis with Originium. From now on, Originium would no longer harm her. Instead, it would transform into pure energy, strengthening her body.

"Man... that was exhausting…"

"Oh? You sure seemed to enjoy kissing the girl."

Theresia's teasing voice brought back a bit of his energy.

"I wasn't enjoying it! I was just following your instructions—and I didn't have time to think about that then..."

"But it felt good, didn't it?"

"I already said—at that time…"

"It felt good, right?"

"Uhh…"

"It felt good, right?"

"…Yeah."

Revy touched his lips. He could still feel Amiya's warmth and scent. During the process, he didn't think much. But afterward… he couldn't help but remember the… vividness of it all.

"Hey, Revy…"

Theresia's voice turned soft and seductive.

"If you like her, go after her. I think she really likes you too—"

"—Go confess, make her blush, and turn her into your wife already!"
