The next day, Lola decided to work from home. Thanks to Atlas's ice bath the night before, her body didn't ache as much as she expected. Even so, she was still sore, and it was best not to push herself further.
Staying in bed, Lola glanced at the children in the bedroom with her. A soft smile crept onto her face as the twins quietly worked on their school project at the small round table. She took their silence as focus and decided not to disturb them.
"So cute," she whispered, her eyes softening with affection.
It was a good thing they didn't have school today, since it was a holiday. That meant she could spend the entire day with them.
Lola lifted one leg slightly and nodded to herself.
"This is okay," she murmured, then moved her laptop off her lap. She peeled off the blanket and swung her legs over the bed.
She winced when her legs ached from the movement, but it was tolerable. She slowly made her way to the twins.
"Kids?" she called softly. "Do you want snacks? Or help?"
