Mike pulled up his face mask and put on a scrub, blending in perfectly with the hallway staff. In his hand was a tray and some medicine—exactly what a normal nurse would carry down the corridor. So far, his disguise was doing its job.
Soon, he reached Lawrence's ward. He stopped at the door, glancing left and right before entering. As the door clicked behind him, Mike let out a shallow breath.
Slowly, he approached the bed where Lawrence lay peacefully.
"..." Mike stood motionless beside the bed, eyes on the patient. His heart hardened with nothing but spite.
All these decades, Mike had to suck up to this fool. He had to act nice and call this man his "brother." God knows how insufferable Lawrence was, especially whenever Lawrence made sure Mike felt inferior. After all, Lawrence always acted as if he were better than Mike in every aspect.
