At the same time…
"So, Haji… what do you think? Should I join hands with them?"
Haji blinked, trying to process what in the world was happening. He couldn't even focus on what Vito had just said because his brain had stalled long before that part.
"Wait." He raised his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Wait—motherfuc—shut up for a second!"
Vito raised his brows and lifted his hands in surrender, leaning back in his chair. "Take your time. I still have an hour before someone puts a hole in my head."
Haji ignored him, focusing on one critical detail—important to him, but apparently not to Vito.
"What do you mean they got Amala and Silo?" he asked, snapping his attention back to the man.
"I said what I said." Vito shrugged. "Some people took them hostage."
"By some people, you mean… Farah?"
Vito nodded, looking confused, as though he didn't understand why Haji was surprised.
