Charles sat on the bed, his back resting against the headboard. When he glanced up, he saw Finn seated on a chair nearby.
"What are you still doing here?" he asked his son-in-law. "You should be with your brothers. Helping them, probably."
Finn lowered his phone and looked at his father-in-law. "I am helping them, Dad. Staying here with you helps."
"Penny could've stayed," Charles grumbled bitterly.
"Unfortunately, I'm not the owner of a large security firm," Finn replied with a faint smile. "But don't worry. I'll stay here so they won't have to."
"What about your wife, huh?" Charles scrunched up his nose. "Shouldn't you be by her side?"
Finn smacked his lips, his smile widening. "Nina and Mom are with the quadruplets. They'll be fine."
The two men stared at each other for a moment before Charles let out a deep sigh. He turned his gaze toward the window, staring at the dark sky where the clouds hid the moon.
