The priest clenched his teeth as he tried to pry Lola's arm from around his neck, but to no avail. She refused to let him go, making him regret paralyzing only her legs.
"Lo—" He pushed himself up again, scraping together every ounce of strength he had. When he managed to get to his feet, he drove himself backward, slamming his back hard against one of the pillars.
"Ugh—" Lola winced the moment her back collided with the stone, her grip loosening slightly. "Ugh… no."
She couldn't let him go.
If she was going to end him, now was the time.
Before he could take advantage of her faltering hold, she tightened her arm around his neck again. He responded by slamming her against the pillar once more. Still, she refused to release him. She knew that if she did, she would never get another chance like this.
Unfortunately, on the second impact, he managed to slip a hand between his neck and her arm.
"Let—let go!" he hissed through gritted teeth. "Lola, let go!"
