Chapter 9 - Episode 9: Ultimatrix Unleashed

Darkness. Crushing, suffocating darkness. Ben coughed, his lungs burning, his body aching. He tried to move, but tons of rubble pinned him down. He could hear Gwen and Kevin nearby, groaning in pain. They were alive, at least for now. But for how long? The Plumber HQ was collapsing around them, and Malakor had the Ultimatrix. A chilling thought. He had to get out, he had to save his friends, he had to stop Malakor. But how? He was trapped, injured, and powerless. He closed his eyes, focusing his will, trying to summon the Ultimatrix. But it was gone, lost to Malakor. He was alone, utterly and completely alone. Or was he? A faint spark of energy flickered within him, a tiny ember of hope. It was the memory of his transformations, the power of his alien forms, still lingering within his DNA. He might not have the Ultimatrix, but he still had his potential. He focused on that potential, nurturing it, fanning the flames of his inner power. He remembered Heatblast, Diamondhead, Four Arms, all the aliens he had become over the years. He remembered their strengths, their abilities, their courage. He channeled that courage, that strength, that power. Slowly, gradually, he began to feel his body changing. His skin hardened, his muscles grew, his bones shifted. He was transforming, drawing upon the residual energy within him. It wasn't a perfect transformation, not without the Ultimatrix. But it was enough. He burst free of the rubble, his body now encased in a rough, diamond-like armor. He was Diamondhead, or at least, a twisted, imperfect version of him. But it was enough to survive. He quickly freed Gwen and Kevin, pulling them from the wreckage. They were battered and bruised, but alive. "Malakor has the Ultimatrix," Ben said, his voice strained. "We have to stop him." Gwen nodded, her expression grim. "But how? We're powerless without it." "We're not powerless," Ben said, his eyes filled with determination. "We still have each other. And we still have our will to fight." Kevin nodded, his expression hardening. "Then let's do it. Let's take down that creep." They emerged from the ruins of the Plumber HQ, ready to face Malakor. But the scene that greeted them was even more horrifying than they had imagined. Bellwood was changing, twisting into a grotesque parody of itself. Buildings were contorting into bizarre shapes, the sky was turning a sickly green, and the air was thick with dark energy. The citizens of Bellwood were gone, replaced by monstrous creatures, warped and twisted by Malakor's power. "He's reshaping reality," Gwen said, her voice filled with horror. "He's turning Bellwood into his own twisted playground." Malakor's voice echoed through the city, mocking and cruel. "Welcome to my new world, Tennyson," he said. "A world where I am God, and you are my playthings." He appeared before them, floating in the air, the Ultimatrix gleaming on his wrist. He had changed as well, his body now infused with the Ultimatrix's power. He was taller, stronger, more powerful than ever before. "You cannot stop me, Tennyson," Malakor said, his voice filled with arrogance. "I am beyond your reach. I am the master of reality." Ben glared at Malakor, his fists clenched. "We'll see about that," he said. He charged at Malakor, his diamond-like fists raised, ready to strike. But Malakor simply waved his hand, and Ben was sent flying backwards, crashing into a nearby building. Gwen unleashed a wave of mana, but Malakor deflected it with ease. Kevin charged at Malakor, his body transformed into a mass of hardened metal, but Malakor simply laughed and blasted him with a surge of energy, sending him crashing to the ground. They were outmatched, outgunned, and out of options. Malakor was too powerful, his control over the Ultimatrix too complete. They were doomed. But Ben refused to give up. He focused his will, channeling his remaining energy. He had to find a way, any way, to stop Malakor. He looked around, searching for an opportunity, a weakness, a vulnerability. He saw the twisted buildings, the monstrous creatures, the warped reality. He realized that Malakor's power was dependent on his control over reality. If he could disrupt that control, even for a moment, he might have a chance. He remembered something Albedo had once told him about the Ultimatrix: it was a powerful tool, but it was also unstable. Its power was immense, but it was also difficult to control. If he could somehow overload the Ultimatrix, he might be able to disrupt Malakor's control over reality. But how? He needed a distraction, something to draw Malakor's attention away from the Ultimatrix. He looked at Gwen and Kevin, still struggling to their feet. He knew what he had to do. "Gwen, Kevin," Ben said, his voice filled with determination. "I have a plan. But it's dangerous. I need you to trust me." Gwen and Kevin nodded, their expressions grim. "What is it?" Gwen asked. "I need you to distract Malakor," Ben said. "Keep him busy, keep him focused on you. I'll take care of the rest." "What are you going to do?" Kevin asked. "I'm going to overload the Ultimatrix," Ben said. "But I need time. Can you give it to me?" Gwen and Kevin exchanged a look. They knew the risks, but they also knew that it was their only chance. "We'll do it," Gwen said. "Just be careful, Ben." "I will," Ben said. He turned to face Malakor, his expression grim. "Alright, Malakor," Ben said. "Let's dance." He charged at Malakor, his diamond-like fists raised, ready to fight. Gwen and Kevin joined him, unleashing their powers, distracting Malakor with their attacks. Malakor laughed, enjoying the challenge. He unleashed his own powers, blasting them with surges of energy, twisting reality around them. But Gwen and Kevin were relentless, dodging his attacks, countering his powers, keeping him focused on them. Ben used the distraction to his advantage. He moved quickly, stealthily, closing the distance between himself and Malakor. He focused his will, channeling his remaining energy. He reached out to the Ultimatrix, sensing its power, its instability. He knew what he had to do. He unleashed a surge of energy, overloading the Ultimatrix with his own power. The Ultimatrix began to glow, brighter and brighter, its energy spiraling out of control. Malakor sensed the danger, his eyes widening in surprise. He tried to stop Ben, but it was too late. The Ultimatrix exploded, unleashing a wave of energy that ripped through reality itself. The twisted buildings shattered, the monstrous creatures vanished, the warped reality began to unravel. Malakor screamed in agony, his body convulsing, his power fading. The Ultimatrix was gone, destroyed. Malakor collapsed to the ground, defeated. Ben, Gwen, and Kevin stood before him, exhausted but victorious. They had saved Bellwood, they had stopped Malakor. Or had they? As the dust settled, a portal opened in the sky, a swirling vortex of energy. A figure stepped out of the portal, its presence radiating an aura of immense power. It was someone they had never seen before, someone who made Malakor look like a child. The figure smiled, its eyes burning with a cold, cruel light. "Well, well, well," the figure said. "What have we here? It seems you've been playing with my toys." Ben, Gwen, and Kevin stared in horror, realizing that they had just stumbled into something far bigger, far more dangerous than they could have ever imagined. And as the new figure raised its hand, a wave of energy washed over them, plunging them into darkness. Where have they been taken and what does this mysterious person wants?
