"Who are you talking to?" Katherine questioned as she stood by the door.
Marcus immediately hung up on the call and kept his phone on the nearby table.
"Were you eavesdropping on my conversation just now?" He demanded.
"And why not? Who were you talking to?" She asked, glaring at him now. "What time do you need and what's that person asking from you?"
"It's nothing," he lied.
Katherine stared at him perplexed. He never told her what he did to get his money. He only told her that he had savings from being a gym coach, but she knew that money wouldn't last after buying two houses and a car.
There was something he wasn't telling her and she was sure of it.
Her gaze softened. Even when he was being overbearing, she tried to understand that he had to take up everything by himself after she got jailed.
She had not made the best decisions in her life but he always stood by her side no matter what.
"Marcus," she called him softly. "What do you do?"
Marcus's lips thinned.
