Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Lyra

I was woken up when I felt the sunrays hitting my face. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the beautiful scenery outside. I didn't know this place could be this beautiful.

If I could just have my own mansion and live like this every day, I'm pretty certain I wouldn't get tired of waking up to this view.

"I guess it won't rain anymore? I think we're good to go," I spoke to myself as I stood up from the king-size bed and fixed it.

After fixing the bed, I grabbed all my belongings and went to my mom and sister's room, but I got lost because of how huge this mansion is. I couldn't even tell where I was.

"Fuck it!" I groaned and scratched my head in frustration until someone spoke in the hallway.

"Where do you think you're going, huh??" a man with a deep voice said, making me stop and turn around.

It was that fucking pervert again!

I immediately went up to him, ready to confront him and ask where he put my mom and sister.

"WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY MOM AND SISTER?!" I yelled, but he smirked.

"I asked you first, miss. Where are you going?" he said calmly, his hands in his pockets.

"We're gonna leave now. Thank you for your kindness," I said and bowed. I was about to walk past him when he grabbed my wrist.

"Don't you want me to answer your question?" he said again, still calm. That annoyed me more.

I couldn't tell if he was being kind, or just playing with me. Teasing me?

"I don't accept replies from strangers," I answered, bored, and pulled my wrist away from his grip. He laughed.

"I'm Drake Ares Callahan, CEO of Callahan Enterprises. Now... am I still a stranger to you?" he said, raising his eyebrows playfully.

"The hell I care? Where's my mom and sister?!" I asked again. He chuckled, looking up.

"I thought you didn't accept answers from strangers?" he said, chuckling again. That was it—I stepped hard on his foot.

Never underestimate a human bunny, Mr. Pervert. Not me.

"Heyyyy!!! YOU DID IT AGAIN!!!" Drake shouted in pain.

"Never ever degrade a woman like me, Mr. Callahan," I said seriously, glaring at him.

He immediately stood up straight, grabbed my hands, and pushed me against the wall, pinning me. He looked directly into my eyes.

"You don't know how a crazy woman annoys me, miss. I helped you last night and even let you stay over in my home, and this is how you repay me? First hitting me in my sacred balls, now stepping on my Gucci shoes? This isn't fair. You're not going to leave," he said firmly.

"I'm gonna call the cops!" I yelled, trying to escape.

"I'm a billionaire, miss. You can't. I have all the privilege in the world," he said seriously.

"Fuck you!" I cursed and finally escaped his grip, putting distance between us.

"Your mom and sister are in the dining hall having breakfast. If you're in the mood and ready to talk to me properly, come to my room on the third floor," he said and walked away.

I don't get this man seriously. I don't know if I should trust him. He doesn't seem good to me, even if he helped us.

I followed him because I didn't know my way around. He looked startled when he noticed me beside him.

"YAH! YOU STARTLED ME!" he shouted, holding his chest.

"Can you lead me to your dining hall..." I asked shyly. He nodded without looking at me.

"UNNIE!!!" Mira exclaimed happily as she ate delicious breakfast. Drake just sat down with a poker face.

"Honey, sit down. Look! Mr. Callahan offered us delicious food!" Mom said happily. I looked at him and leaned over to Mom, whispering:

"We're leaving after this."

Drake stood up and whispered to me on his way out:

"Think about it. You don't want to lose a good offer, miss..."

When he was gone, I sat beside Mom.

"MOM, WHY DID YOU AGREE TO HIS OFFER?! WE DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT GUY OR HIS INTENTIONS!"

Mom held my hands and signaled Mira to leave us.

"Mr. Callahan offered a great opportunity for you, and I couldn't say no. You already sacrificed a lot for us... it's time for you to focus on yourself," she said sincerely.

"But I can manage, Mom! We can't just accept an offer from a stranger, even if it seems good!" I said, stressed out.

"Honey, I couldn't say no because he offered me something that would help all of us. I can't watch you grow old without doing the things you want," she said.

"Mom... you just can't do that without my consent," I sighed.

"Please, Lyra. Let me do something I know is best for you," Mom looked me in the eyes.

I was annoyed and stressed, but Mom is my weakness.

"I'll talk to that man," I said, forced. "But I'll decline his offer, whatever it is."

"Please do, honey... he's waiting for your answer," she said and squeezed my hand.

I asked one of the maids to bring me to Drake's room. She warned me:

"Be careful with Mr. Callahan. He's a known womanizer. Don't fall for his charms."

"I don't even see any charms in him. He's ordinary to me," I said. As if I care?

"You're going to eat those words someday. And by the way, you have a sweet sister. You're lucky," she said and left.

At his door, I knocked. He opened it with his phone to his ear. His eyes widened when he saw me, and he immediately ended the call.

"I was expecting you. Come in," he said, letting me in.

I walked in and sat across from him.

"What do you want to talk about?" I asked flatly.

"About what your mom and I agreed on. I want you to understand it since it concerns you," he said and slid an envelope across the table.

"What is this?" I asked, picking it up.

"My contract with your mom. Open it."

I read it and saw the debt—$1,000,000.

WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?! WHY DID MOM SIGN THIS?

"A FUCKING MILLION DOLLARS?! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY THIS WHEN I DON'T EVEN HAVE A JOB?!" I yelled.

Drake laughed. "Don't worry. You'll work under me to earn while paying the debt."

"MOM IS TOO SMART TO SIGN THIS. DID YOU HYPNOTIZE HER?!"

"She thought hard about it. She asked for a house, your sister's education, therapy so she can walk again, and a restaurant."

My eyes widened.

A FUCKING HOUSE? I BET IT'S A MANSION.

"I don't get it!"

"I'll explain later," he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes. He smiled.

"Ahh, playful... my type," he said.

"Again, I'm Drake Ares Callahan, 25, CEO of the company you'll work for," he introduced and extended his hand. I ignored it.

"I offered this because you did something no woman's ever done to me," he leaned forward.

"What did I do to you?!"

"You hit my sacred balls. You owe me. Do you know how much that hurts?!"

"WHY WOULD I PAY?! YOU DESERVED IT FOR BEING A PERVERT!"

"Oh yeah? Then here's the deal. You'll be my personal assistant and... pleasure me," he said seriously.

WHAT THE FUCK?!

"Not happening. I'm not a slut."

"I meant massages... but your idea's interesting. Let's say: $15,000 per sleepover, $2,000 off per kiss, $30,000 per make-out. Or... work for me and pay it off the hard way."

"I'd rather work than kiss you. Ew," I said.

He stood behind me and whispered:

"You're going to regret saying that, baby girl. You'll like the balls you kicked."

"YOU'RE DISGUSTING!" I shouted and stood up.

"Hehehe, what's your name?" he asked.

"I'M LYRA," I said, stepping away.

"Beautiful name. Makes me want to do something beautiful with you," he said, sliding his hand to my neck.

I slapped him.

"FUCKING PERVERT! YOUR CHARMS WON'T WORK ON ME," I said and stormed out. Outside, I saw a short guy.

"Oh, you must be Elena's daughter! I talked to her earlier. I'm Hunter Lee, Drake's friend," he said with a smile.

"Yeah, I am," I replied.

"He probably did something nasty," Hunter chuckled.

"Yeah, he did."

"Sorry about that. He's like that with girls."

"I need to go. Bye, Hunter," I said and turned.

"WAIT, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!"

"To the room you lent us. I need peace away from that pervert," I said and walked off.

Drake

I laughed hard seeing Lyra pissed off walking out. Then Hunter came in.

"HEYY! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" Hunter laughed.

"Teased her and showed her how to pay her debt," I laughed.

Hunter touched my cheek. "DID SHE SLAP YOU?! THAT WOMAN'S SOMETHING!"

"Yeah, how dare she? Lots of women admire this face! She said my charms don't work? Is she a lesbian?!"

"You just found a woman with your same attitude.

Good luck!" Hunter teased.

"Heyyy!! SERAPHINE AND ZARIA ARE VISITING TOMORROW!!"

"WHAT?! I NEED TO BUY THEM GIFTS!"

"They'll see Lyra and think she's your girlfriend."

"Nah, they'll think she's the maid. No worries."

Good luck, Lyra Navarro. This is your consequence for kicking my sacred balls.
