Chapter 178 - Gluttonous Girl

Luthor Manor.

The opulent furnishings, reminiscent of a medieval noble's residence, spoke of immense wealth.

Atop a grand dining table, a golden-haired girl devoured a chicken leg with gusto.

She delicately bit into the crispy breaded skin,

"Crunch, crunch."

A few drops of transparent grease dotted the corners of her mouth, which she promptly licked clean with her tongue.

As she lowered her head to consume the fragrant, high-calorie bomb, some crumbs landed on her ample chest.

"Mmm, mmm," Kara mumbled with her mouth full, her pretty face radiating pure enjoyment. She swayed her head slightly, causing her golden hair to bounce. It was clear that she loved this kind of high-calorie food.

However, given a Kryptonian's metabolism, even eating a hundred wouldn't make them gain weight.

In a corner of the hall, the maids of Luthor Manor were whispering, discussing the girl the young master had brought home three minutes ago.

"That girl's figure is absolutely perfect," one maid said, pursing her lips and staring at Kara's obviously supermodel-esque bust. "What's more infuriating is that she's extremely beautiful, like an angel from a fairy tale."

They were chattering in small groups about the girl Gino had brought home for the first time.

Most of the maids leaned towards the idea that the girl was Gino's girlfriend.

Until a figure walked down the stairs.

The maids wisely fell silent.

Gino had changed into a set of casual home clothes.

Lionel had recently returned to Metropolis, and Lex had been staying in the lab. With only himself and the maid in Luthor Manor, bringing Kara back wouldn't be a problem.

"Clack."

Gino pulled out a chair and sat down, propping his chin up with one hand. He stared at Kara across the table with a blank expression.

He had a lot of questions for the girl.

Feeling the boy's gaze, Kara cautiously raised her head. After pursing her lips, she reluctantly offered the chicken leg in her hand: "W-Would you like some?"

Looking at the chicken leg with a bite taken out of it, Gino pursed his lips and sighed, holding his forehead: "You eat it. Finish it quickly, and I'll ask you a few questions. Then you can continue eating."

Hearing Gino's words, the girl quickly took back the chicken leg and then ate the remaining chicken with big bites.

She wiped the grease off her mouth with a careless hand, her big eyes staring straight at Gino, as if saying, what are you going to ask?

"How did you get to Earth?"

"Earth? So that's what you call your planet." Kara swung her legs back and forth. "I guess the ship found the coordinates. I'm not sure of the details."

The girl rubbed her cheeks, her voice low. "I was asleep the whole time after leaving Krypton."

"Oh, right. I came here to protect my cousin, Kal-El."

She seemed to remember her mission, her small face becoming serious.

As she spoke, Kara lightly jumped, landing on the carpet, and approached Gino with light steps, sniffing at his short sleeves like a kitten.

"Mmm, so you're my cousin!" Kara seemed to have smelled something, or perhaps it was the Kryptonian ability to sense each other. She patted Gino's head like a big sister. "Little cousin, from today on, I've got your back!"

Gino's face darkened at Kara's words.

He reached up and brushed the girl's hand off his head.

Gino was a little helpless. Protect him? With the girl's current intelligence of six or seven years old, if she took a punch, she'd probably be squatting on the ground, "Waaah!" crying.

"First, I'm not Kal-El."

"Second, I don't need you to protect me."

The young man stood up helplessly and pressed down on the girl's head: "Go change your clothes first. We can find Kal later."

Her body was covered in oil stains; not only was it uncomfortable to wear, but it was also unpleasant to look at.

"Oh." Kara lowered her head, a little disappointed. She was somewhat disheartened that she hadn't been able to find her only relative in the world.

But her childlike nature made her quickly forget about it, and she curiously asked, "What's a bath?"

"Annie." Gino snapped his fingers. "Take her to take a bath."

Soon, a maid led Kara towards the bathroom.

Sitting back on the sofa and taking a sip of the milk the maid had brought, Gino's eyes were filled with thought.

As one of the only two Kryptonians, Kara's strength was quite good, perhaps she could even become an assistant.

Of course, the prerequisite was to gain the girl's trust. Perhaps sincerity for sincerity was a choice?

Just as he was pondering, the old butler, Jack, with one hand behind his back, gracefully said, "Young master, there are two ladies outside the manor looking for you."

As he spoke, Jack's slightly aged face was filled with satisfaction. If he had to describe it, it was as if the child he had watched grow up was finally planning to settle down and start a family?

Gino held his forehead. He was too lazy to explain anymore. Once misunderstandings took root, they would instantly grow into towering trees.

"I remember you once told me that any of your friends could enter the manor."

"However, considering the young lady you brought back to the manor…"

Well, I didn't realize old Jack was so considerate, even helping Gino avoid a "love triangle."

But the problem is, Kara's not his girlfriend!

"Let them in."

Gino sighed deeply, vowing never to bring another girl home from outside again.

The old butler left at the sound of his voice.

Soon, Lana, in a pair of slim-fit jeans and a white crop top, and Chloe entered the hall side-by-side.

"Wow."

Chloe gazed at the famous paintings around them, shocked every time, no matter how many times she'd been there.

"Gino." Lana looked at the young man sitting on the sofa, hugging her arms excitedly. "We almost thought you and Clark had disappeared!"

Chloe nodded in agreement, echoing, "That's right, where did you two go? You know Clark's credits were all docked by the teachers."

"It's complicated," Gino rubbed his forehead.

How was he supposed to explain it to Lana and Chloe?

The knowledge of another universe beyond the universe, parallel universes, and the multiverse, would be as difficult for the two women to understand as Clark becoming Homelander.

"In short, we were trapped somewhere, but we finally escaped," Gino chose to weave a lie. Although lying was shameful, it was useful.

After hearing Gino's words, the two women looked at each other.

"Then, where did Clark go?" Lana turned her gaze towards Gino.

She knew the relationship between Gino and Clark. Although the two had fought before, they eventually reconciled.

"Clark." Gino murmured for a moment, then said thoughtfully, "I'm not sure. He ran out of town."

Gino didn't intend to tell Lana about Martha's miscarriage; it was a private matter.

"So, do you know where to find him?" Lana clenched her fists, and her reddened eyes showed how worried she was about Clark.

"Where to find him?" Gino recalled the message on his phone earlier.

He remembered Clark's reply at the time: "I want to be alone."
