Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Is He Insulting Me?

The brawling group stopped and looked curiously at the newcomer.

"So what exactly happened?"

Dolly was a step behind Hermione. The moment she stepped into the room, even Malfoy, who had been glaring at Harry, subconsciously shifted his gaze to Dolly.

Her golden hair swayed slightly, unable to hide her delicate face.

Her green eyes swept over everyone, a hint of annoyed dissatisfaction at the corner of her lips.

Although she looked small, at that moment, no one dared to meet her gaze.

But then people realized, she was just a new student who hadn't even started school yet. What was there to be afraid of?

It wasn't until they took a second look that they realized they weren't looking away out of fear.

It was just that looking at this girl, there was a sense of guilt, a fear of showing an unnatural expression.

Malfoy also broke free from Harry and stared at Dolly, but his voice was unconsciously a notch lower. "And who are you?"

"Sister, stay out of it. This is my business."

Harry spoke first. His sister's arrival made him a little flustered.

Although he was tough in front of Malfoy and wasn't even afraid of his wand, he didn't want to make a fool of himself in front of his sister.

Harry took a step forward, about to attack Malfoy again, but felt himself being pulled back sharply.

It was Dolly, who had strode forward, grabbed Harry by the collar, and pulled him to a stop.

Most people didn't realize what had just happened in that instant.

Only Harry's shoulders trembled, as if he had returned to the days of being dominated by the boxing tank Dolly.

"Harry, is this how you go out to find a toad?"

Dolly's words made Harry completely give up resistance, hanging his head, ready to be scolded by his sister.

However, Dolly did not do such a thing in public, not only to protect Harry's dignity but also because she knew that if there was a conflict between Harry and Malfoy, the fault was most likely not with Harry.

This was not Dolly's prejudice; it was purely because Malfoy was not a good person.

Arrogant, face-saving, competitive.

If it were just these shortcomings, he wouldn't be so detestable. But after his initial failure against Harry, these shortcomings quickly slid into viciousness, vanity, jealousy, and even racial discrimination, which were not things that could be easily forgiven.

Of course, Dolly wouldn't make a judgment immediately. So she said, "You tell me, what exactly happened?"

She pointed at Neville. Neville had just been pushed down by Crabbe and was just now getting up. "My toad climbed onto Malfoy's shoulder. He got angry and punched me."

"I thought it was nothing, but Harry thought he should apologize. Malfoy didn't apologize, and we started fighting."

"Is he telling the truth?"

Dolly looked at Malfoy. Malfoy subconsciously wanted to nod, but then felt something was wrong. "Why should I explain to you?"

"I've already explained, but Harry Potter didn't take it seriously!"

"And now you've taken my wand. Are you really prepared to go to war with me?"

Malfoy's eyes were a little red. When had he ever been so wronged?

And Harry was one thing, but did this girl in front of him have the right to point fingers at him?

That attitude was even worse than Harry's!

Seeing Malfoy's wronged expression, Dolly lost the will to be angry for a moment.

It was just a fight between children. If she really got involved, it might backfire.

Although Dolly didn't plan on it, and didn't think Malfoy's future would be much different from the original story, she couldn't let Malfoy blame his future downfall on the harmless little witch Dolly.

So she said, "Harry, the person involved isn't pursuing it. Don't do unnecessary things."

"Sticking your neck out for others is not what we should be doing. Now clean this up and come back with us."

"As for you, young master, you don't want us to be punished by the teachers before we even start school, do you?"

"How about we end it here? You didn't lose out, did you?"

Draco stared at Dolly, then turned his gaze to Harry, silent.

He didn't want it to end like this, but his wand was still floating in the air.

In the distance, the bushy-haired little witch was smiling faintly, as if watching a play.

Finally, Draco chose to give up. "Give me back my wand first."

Dolly looked at Hermione. Hermione stopped the spell.

The wand fell from the air and into Malfoy's hand.

Seeing that Malfoy made no further moves, Dolly assumed he had accepted her proposal and was about to pull Harry back.

But just as they reached Crabbe and Goyle, Malfoy, getting angrier the more he thought about it, couldn't help but ask, "I've never heard of the Boy-Who-Lived having a sister. Are you a Potter too?"

Malfoy's logic was simple. When you meet someone, you always have to check their background. That way, you can regain face with the honor of your pure-blood family.

Dolly, who already knew what Malfoy was up to, didn't want to answer him.

But Crabbe and Goyle got the hint and blocked Dolly's path, clearly having her cornered.

After all, Dolly looked thin and weak, her face even a little pale.

"What, afraid to answer?"

Malfoy also laughed, thinking he had reached his favorite part: bullying people with his family background.

At this moment, Dolly finally spoke. "Dolly. Dolly Dursley."

"I've never heard of a wizard with the surname Dursley. You're not... a Muggle, are you?"

Malfoy's mouth dropped open in an exaggerated way, and he looked around.

The Slytherin students, just like Malfoy, also started to jeer. But Dolly said calmly, "I was a Muggle before, but Hogwarts does not admit Muggles."

"Or do you think Headmaster Dumbledore and Deputy Headmistress McGonagall are getting senile?"

As soon as she said this, the place fell silent.

The pure-blood wizards of Slytherin, no matter how dissatisfied they were with Muggles, did not dare to point fingers at Dumbledore and McGonagall.

But this was not what Malfoy wanted. Seeing himself thwarted again, he squeezed a word out from between his teeth.

"Mudblood!"

Hearing this, Ron looked at Malfoy in shock.

Neville's face instantly turned red. Anger rose from the timid little fat boy, making him clench his fists.

As for Harry and Hermione, they looked on with blank faces. What's a Mudblood?

Dolly, of course, knew what a Mudblood was. The word could be simply understood as "half-breed," a derogatory term used by pure-blood wizards for wizards with Muggle blood in their family.

The moment she heard this word, Dolly knew she couldn't avoid it anymore.

So she let go of Harry's collar and asked Neville, "What's a Mudblood?"

Neville's face was flushed. He didn't know how to explain, because explaining it would be like insulting Dolly again.

"In short, he's insulting me, right?"

Neville nodded quickly.

"That's all I need to know."

Dolly turned around and clenched her fist.

The small, fair fist made a sound of cracking knuckles that did not match Dolly's physique at all.
