Chapter 3 - ErrorCorrection-Attempt2

"Ah!-" It jolted up from Its bed, sitting up quickly as its chest rose up and descended in quick succession, its tentacle-like hair squirming around as he sat up, "Grrruughhh," its sounds could be described as a groan as its claw-like fingers scratched its head after calming down.

It slowly got off their bed, 'Urgh, another weird dream…' The mass of tentacles and claws moved across the room as it stopped in front of their door, turning around to face the mirror.

"Blughrghglug!?" It bellowed in a tone that could be considered shock, or maybe fear, it was hard to tell. Its thoughts spoke a different story however, 'What the hell is that thing!?' It moved its head before stopping directly in front of the mirror again.

Moving closer and closer, one of its clawed hands reached out to touch the mirror before pulling back in agony. "Argh!" Ah, the sounds of paIn from it came out beautifully—SOMETHING seemed to have interrupted my narrations, I am truly sorry about that, let us continue. Its head began pulsating, screams echoing through the room as its hands grabbed the head in, well, obviously agony.

The mirror had an outline of a long rectangle before everything outside of the rectangle shattered. Glass shards flew as the wooden outer edge splintered, the surrounding area was shattered as if the world itself was breaking through.

There, in the middle of this destruction of the room, the faint dim-blue glow of the Panel illuminated the nearby area, it was unscathed as it had all happened in under a second.

Why didn't it get hurt? Well, because I made sure of it.

The Panel had words that were carved into it.

「ERROR FOUND」

'W-what the... why is that thing back!' Its thoughts came out loud but it's mouth was, "grgbglg!" Only garbage noise could be heard, at this point, should I only narrate its thoughts? Sorry, ehem. The glass plane's engraved words began changing as the next message showed.

「BEGIN CORRECTION」

A tentacle shot out to grab a large glass shard from the floor that was too far for it to grab with their clawed hands, and it threw it at the Panel. What a mistake, it went through the Panel, as if it wasn't there to begin with, as it began to drift closer towards it.

Stepping back, the thing's back bumped into something, or someone.

Jumping to the side, another tentacle instinctively grabbed a shard from the ground, each reflection of each shard showed a different person, but they all had one thing in common. They were all, "M■r■e■," the figure so rudely INTERRUPTED, most of its words refused to be heard from the world, only coming out in static. The 'Mre,' aiming the shard at the figure, finally being able to see him fully, yet he seemed to be blurred.

With skin and hair colour that differs constantly, something that seemed to be blocked their eyes, and a weird symbol floating above their head. It didn't make sense to 'Mre.'

The figure turned to face the Mre. At that moment, everything lurched to a stop. 'What the hell did you say…?' it thought, the blurry figure held so much power without doing anything necessarily large, as it stepped back.

The figure seems to be annoyed, but how could it tell, it was too blurry, almost like a, "D■m■ c■n■o■s■i■." The figure began moving closer.

Seeing him get closer, 'Mre' threw the glass shard directly towards him, "M■r■n," the person continued speaking as the shard slowed the more the distance closed between it and the person.

"M■r■e■n, y■u n■e■ t■ ■." He nudged the shard of glass slightly as it sped up once more to only crash on the ground. Once passing a certain threshold, the pale blue glow illuminates 'Mre's face as the Panel zooms in between the two.

「ERROR」

The man looked vaguely irritated, due to all the annoying censorship, it was to tell. The man's words came out the same, guttered, "L■s■e■ t■ m■ M■r■e■… d■m■ c■n■o■s■i■." cursing under his breath, the man nodded towards the Panel as the engraved words began to change once more, overlapping.

「To fix your current state, we must hide from the gaze of the |■|」

「FORCEFULLY CHANGING POV IN 3… 2… 1–

WAKING UP {Concept: Variable} IN 3… 2… 1–」

A girl with no face slowly wakes up as she stretches in her bed, "mmmmrgh!" She seemed to be groaning but she couldn't speak, yet she seemed to not notice.

Sitting up, her body was much, much longer than an average pre-teen, which is around 178cm (5'8). However, she was much taller, maybe around 8ft.

Scratching her back, she slid off her bed and began walking towards the door. Everything around her, from her room to the glimpse of the world outside, wasn't a 'seems' or 'might' but was wrong. Some parts were inside of others, nonliving in each other, objects stretched or squashed as they kept their original design.

She walked past the open cavity that was meant to be a door as the hallway stretched farther with rooms that was, quite literally, not metaphorically, geographically impossible. Yet, the faceless girl did not notice or didn't see anything wrong.

As she walked through the fractally repeating corridor, she lifted her arms and stretched, as if she was yawning, passing a statue of a person charged with an amalgamation of materials. It's eyes following her as she passed by.

After passing the final repeating and impossibly positioned door, she entered directly in front of the dining table—{so non-linear.} STOP INTERRUPTING ME! YOU'RE RIGHT THERE ANYWAYS! Sigh, let us continue, AGAIN—as she sat beside a person made out of letters.

The person made out of letters began speaking, "Hello sweetie—{Memory is a funny thing. How hilarious to see people slowly lose themselves in the haze of nostalgia. It seems you are lost in a a fog.}—how are you in this fine morning?" before crumbling into nothing but ink splodges.

She began eating what was on the table; a big serving of nothing. Her hands mimed gestures of eating: pouring cereal, drinking OJ, the works.

CRASH–

A loud, resounding, and powerful sound reverberated through the entire impossible house in a desperate cry.

Hearing this, the lanky figure got up quickly as she stopped to listen more intently. Silence. She turned around towards the immediate hallway behind her, the endless hallway gazing back.

In this moment, she seemed to notice the absolute hor—{Beauty}—ror of the world in its most raw form. Her legs seemed to move with a purpose she didn't quite recognise yet, if she had to name it, it would be 'worry,' for who? She didn't know.

Her legs kept moving through the hallway faster, and faster, and faster. She was running, trying to find a sense of normalcy that didn't exist here, not anymore, as she continued.

Questions began finally leaking out as I, The Text, can finally translate the glitched thoughts, 'Was everything always like this..?' However, most of the thoughts were still too glitchy to be translated for you.

Her feet moved much further than she expected, finally noticing her height as she took advantage of her newly released leg span.

It went for much longer than she expected, of course this hallway changed its length while she was "eating." She sped up her legs as fast as she could.

At the end of the hallway, it seemed everything was still normal to a degree. No furniture clipped into the other, no colour was replacing another one, everything seemed normal.

Reaching closer to the door, she peeked in just in case. There stood a blurry, and I mean blurry, person holding something by the neck—all gross and tentically. It screamed painfully as its body began to revert, like playing a video, or tape, in reverse, but in real life.

The thing stopped screaming as it continued to revert slowly, its limbs and tentacles going limp. The man slowly turned its head towards the peeking girl, causing her to gasp before stepping back in surprise.

Her body bumped into something very large. Turning her head ever so slowly, she saw the statue. Its amalgamated body of wood, glass, and other materials were creaking. Except, this time, it had meat, actual flesh, pulsating with each movement.

The statue raised its claw of wooden material, using glass as nails, the joints having undefined meat helping move the claws. She was tall, unnaturally so, yet the statue was taller so when it lifted up its appendage, it towered over her.

She knew what would happen if she didn't move, her body urging with every elongated bone, added joint, and extra muscle to move. She wouldn't, or couldn't, it was hard to tell. It came down regardless.

She looked downwards as it came to strike her. Tick, one second had passed. Tock, then five. Tick, then twenty. Tock, then thirty. No attack came, her head tilted up in confusion only to see the statue unmoving.

It was stuck in time.

A hand moved beside her head as it grabbed the claw, crushing and shattering it with a simple clench. It was the blurry figure.

「INTERRUPTION DETECTED」

She was yanked back as a panel of otherworldly blue flickered into existence as the thing's shattered hand began spreading through the entire body, crumbling. It was as if it was being aged up, a fast forwarded video.

She fell onto the ground, next to the reverting, limp thing.

TICK!—

A sound exploded from the man as the space around them began shifting, changing, as if it was a mouth, consuming its lunch.

The impossibility spread towards the blurred man, like a parasite trying to burrow through the man's skin.

TOCK!—

Everything stopped—the spread, the monster's crumbling body… everything, except for the man, girl and panel.

Before her mind could catch up, a slight rumbling from beneath her had started, exponentially increasing in magnitude as she turned back to the man.

"E■e■y■h■n■ i■ b■o■e■… t■i■ i■ a■ f■r a■ I c■n g■." The man turned around and snapped his fingers. The floor beneath the girl began to crack. "G■o■ l■r■e a■d d■v■u■ e■e■y■h■n■."

The floor gave out and she plummeted, the reverted-boy alongside her..

The hole began a chain reaction. Everything began falling apart as the hole expanded, bringing it the destruction, and act, of swallowing all of this reality.

"[Your 『VORTEX』 seems to be derailing.]"

A voice from behind the blurry figure seemed to have transcended a barrier that never existed. The person turned around to see the source of it.

It was a person who seemed to be split in half. One half with blond hair and pale skin, the other that seemed to be a pulsating mess of flesh, hovering above the crumbling remains of the monster.

"[If you don't leave, they'll be deleted. This would become a wasted attempt if you do not leave now.]" He tapped his feet on nothing as he remained hovering.

"Sor, what is the purpose of your visit?" The blurry figure moved closer towards the ever expanding hole as it reversed direction, maybe it was the blurry figure, or the mysteriously split man. Yet the VORTEX had a mind of its own.

"Can't I visit an old friend before everything goes to shit?]" Sor spoke as The blurry figure stopped as soon as the hole reached a certain size., "I'll make sure my『Vortex』destroys this world," he turns around to face the grinning Sor, "Do not stop me." Before jumping into the hole as it begins to expand once more.

Once the hole's edge reaches Sor, he mumbles, "[Just to visit…]" before snapping his fingers.

「INTERRUPTION ACTIVATE.」

The light blue glow turns towards him. "[Oh Console, no need to hide from me.]" Sor said playfully as the words etched begin to overlap once more.

「Damn bastard. Do not stop this. That heart will begin to grow from here if left unchecked.」

「『VORTEX』 EXPANSION HAS BEEN INTERRUPTED」

He began laughing as he gently patted the Panel's backside, "[You're the same as ever!]" before he began crumbling himself. "[But it seems like this disgusting heap cannot handle me.]" However, it seemed only the mass of flesh side was crumbling, not the more refined and stable side.

「You bastard, leave the 『VORTEX』 be! If you ever do something stupid like the previous attempt, I shall personally destroy you!」

「INTERRUPTION INCREASED, REACHING MAXIMUM LIMIT. BEGINNING RELOCATION FOR SAFETY」

The Panel flickered out of existence, "[Goodbye. It's time to save this world. Even if I don't want to. This rotting corpse must fully decompose…]" as the normal side of Sor glitched and flickered out of existence, leaving the mass of flesh's dust blowing through the wind as the hole was forcefully closed up.

The world begins to breathe as if it were alive.
