Chapter 21 - Truth Or Dare (2)

As Derek looked at me, I could feel my heart beating to the pace of the wall clock. Everyone's gaze switched from Derek to me, wondering what he'd ask or dare me to do. I exhaled weakly, looked at Bonnie awkwardly before returning my sight to Derek, who was still looking at me. I couldn't ignore the various gazes on me, and I knew I shouldn't try to act strange if Derek dares or questions me.

I peered at his lips, watching as they quivered and parted delicately, anticipating what he was going to say.

"A Truth or a dare?" He asked, his voice echoing in my ear and I gazed at his plush lips as they pressed on themselves.

"Truth," I managed to say after exhaling deeply. He watched me closely and rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he thought of something to ask me.

"What is something you regret doing?" He asked and I smiled, knowing that was a simple and a straightforward question. Twitching my lips, I drifted myself in thoughts as I recalled past experiences and memories.

With a warm smile, I replied, "Something I regret doing was loving someone with my whole heart. Turns out I was only wasting my time and he was only using me all along. I was too blind to see the truth all these while. He never deserved my love but I was thinking I was the best for him. That's all I can say,"

Derek gulped down the lump in his throat after hearing my response. His eyes were brimming with sympathy for me and I could tell that he knew who I was talking about.

"Are you still in love with that person?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper. My breath caught in my throat as his question hung in the air between us. I wasn't expecting him to ask if I still loved Mason. I could see the urge for the truth in his voice. I could see the eagerness in his eyes as he searched my face and awaited my answers.

With a shake of my head, I mumbled, "No,"

Hayley scoffed and sneered at me. Just then, I watched her gape as if remembering something.

"No way! Are you trying to say that Mason finally ditched you?" She asked with a sly smile tugging her lips. Bonnie sighed and smacked her forehead lightly, obviously tired of her questions and attitude.

"Tell me, Isabel. Is it Mason you're talking about? Is he the one?"

She asked curiously, her brows raising in anticipation. Gloria jerked her and frowned at her before scolding her.

"What's your problem, Hayley? It's none of your business because you aren't the one asking her a question. Wait patiently for your turn and stop being so nosy!"

Hayley sneered as she turned to face Gloria. With pouty angry lips, she fired, "Aren't you the one who's been nosy and dictating? What's your problem with me? Why are you always mad at me whenever I do something? Quit the act and stop acting like my mom. It doesn't suit you!"

"Okay. That's enough! That's enough! We don't wanna ruin the game spirit, do we?"

Bonnie exclaimed and blurted, flaring daggers at Hayley and Gloria.

"I believe you should speak some sense into Hayley's poor brain. Tell her to stop being nosy."

"And how does it affect you?!" Hayley fired, crossing her arms as she maintained a stern gaze at Gloria.

A little smile tugged my lips as I watched their dramatic fight and I caught a glimpse of Derek grinning as he stared at me.

I kept smiling, imagining we were both alone in the room. Just he and me. Being cuddled in his arms and placing my head on his broad chest. His hands gently stroking my hair and his lips brushing my forehead. Our body entwined as we stayed close together, soothing ourselves with the warmth that comes from our skin being in contact.

All of those fantasies ran through my head, and I couldn't help but blush like a small kid who adored candy.

Bonnie's yell snapped me out of my daze, and I realized we were in for another round of the game, with only me distracted by my daydream.

"Let's continue," Tony announced before spinning the bottle on the round table. Bonnie's gaze met mine and she proceeded to ask, "What were you thinking? You seem a little lost,"

"Nothing, Bonnie. Trust me, it's definitely nothing,"

"You know how suspicious and nosy these neighbors are. It's best if you pull yourself together and act along. Whatever is bothering you, you know you can always discuss it with me later. I'm more than willing to help."

After nodding, I returned my focus to the others and watched as the bottle spun until it slowed, its pointed ends facing Bonnie and Hayley.

Hayley smirked, knowing she was either daring or asking Bonnie a question.

"So Bonnie. Truth or a dare?" Hayley asked, her lips curving into a mischievous smile.

I watched Bonnie keenly, wondering what she would choose.

"A … a dare," Bonnie stuttered before biting her lower lips, her eyes fixed on Hayley.

"Great. I want you to do a lap dance for Tony,"

Hayley dared, causing Bonnie to widen her eyes in disbelief. Everyone knew Tony had always had a crush on Bonnie. Bonnie only saw him as a friend and nothing more but Hayley had always been desperate to make them close to each other.

It was unsurprising that Hayley dared her to do such to him. I watched as Bonnie stood up shyly; she had never done a lapdance for a guy before.

"What if I can't do it?" She finally asked Hayley, wanting to know if there were other options.

Hayley smirked and said, "You have to do it, girl. There is no other option. Give Tony a lapdance for a minute. I'll play the music with my phone. Come on! Get on with it,"

Hayley repeated her words, watching Bonnie with keen interest.

"Come on, Bonnie! I know you can do it."

Ashley exclaimed, clenching her fist as she praised Bonnie.

I turned to look at Derek whose face was plastered with a smile as he watched Bonnie acting all shy.

I sighed as I watched everyone's drama, numbness etching my features. Bonnie caught a glimpse of me and I flashed her a warm smile, urging her to do it. She's a great dancer and she always hides it from everyone except me.

Tony smiled and licked his lips as he watched her advance towards him. He steadied himself on his chair, eager to see her sit on his lap.

"I - I can't do this. Isn't there any other option?"

Bonnie asked, her brows cringing.

"You have to, Bonnie or I'll ask you to do something worse than this." Hayley emphasized with crossed arms and a stern face, a naughty smile tugging her lips.

I hope she'll never have a chance to ask me a question or dare me to do crazy stuff. Hayley can be naughty most times.

"It's just a dance…come on," Ashley said to encourage her. I bit my lips, not knowing how to feel at the moment.

Hayley turned on the music on her phone and she watched as Bonnie stood in front of Tony.

Tony smirked, staring into Bonnie's eyes with determination.

I closed my eyes, not having the courage to witness it.

Bonnie sat on Tony's laps, and before she could start twerking on him, Derek stood up, capturing all of our attention..

"No..no way. I won't accept this," He remarked, staring at Hayley.

Everyone crooked their brows, wondering why he said that…
