Chapter 42 - Tell me more about Derek

"What stupid deal?!" I asked with creased brows, my eyes narrowing as I glared hard at him. I'm sure he must have threatened Ashley to change her words. I am sure he compelled her to say it. Even if Ashley denies that he is threatening and blackmailing her, her look told me otherwise. She can't disguise it. It's clear she's unhappy being with him.

Furthermore, when I read her conversation with Mason during the truth or dare game, Mason's texts read more like a threat and an order. It was not romantic at all.

"I thought I told you that once she proves that I'm right, then it means, you'll have to come back to me.."

"Shut up, Mason! I can never return to someone like you…even if you're the only male on earth, I'd rather remain single than have anything to do with you.." I snapped at him.

And with crossed arms, I warned…"I'm undoubtedly sure that you asked Ashley to comply with your statement. You're nothing but a jerk, cheat, loser and an idiot! There's nothing and there can never be anything good about you…"

With angry breaths, I snarled at him and I could hear gasps from the students passing by. Their wide eyes were on us and some of them had their mouths covered with their palms. They were probably surprised to see me speak that way to Mason.

"Oh wow! Since when has this nerdy Jane had a mouth? I thought she was always so quiet and reserved," Mateo, one of my annoying bullies, mumbled with his friends.

"You think Mason is hitting on her?" Another voice came at a far end.

"I thought he rejected her…" Leo, one of Mateo's friends, mumbled, his voice above a whisper.

"Let's go, Isabel.. we have nothing to do here.." Bonnie advised, dragging me along with her.

"SHUT UP, IDIOTS!!" We heard Mason's loud voice and we knew he was lashing his anger at those gossipers trooping around.

Everyone increased their paces as they walked down the corridor, not wanting to get Mason more upset than he already was.

Since it was still break period, Bonnie and I decided to eat at the school's restaurant. Today, we were served with spaghetti, sauce, meatballs and smoothie. We both walked elegantly to our chairs with our trays of food in our hands.

"Mason's the most stupid jerk I've ever seen. Gosh! He thinks I'd ever get back to him?"

I asked rhetorically, cringing my brows in irritation as I remembered his words.

"Ignore the fool. But wait.. why do you think Ashley decided to change her statement all of a sudden? You think Mason's behind it?"

Bonnie asked with raised brows while slurping her smoothie.

"It's obvious he forces her into complying with his statement. He's still threatening her, blackmailing her and using her like his own tool for his own benefits. To imagine, after achieving what he wanted from her, he still had the stupid gut to want me to return to him.."

I expressed angrily, blowing the strand of hair that dangled in front of my forehead. I grabbed the fork on my plate angrily before using it to pick up my meatballs.

"Theodore asks me to go to a concert with him this Saturday. He says he'd get tickets for both of us. Poor dude wants us to keep him company…" I disclosed to Bonnie who forced a smile as she swallowed her spaghetti.

"Remember those days. You, me, Theodore and Dawn.. We were four best friends. But now we're three."

"Don't ever include that bitch.. She doesn't deserve to be remembered," Bonnie mumbled with gritted teeth as she threw a scathy look at Dawn who was chortling while eating with Chloe and the other top girls in class.

"She ditched us for them. She betrayed you and me. She bullied you and then she revealed every single secret of mine.. I will never Forgive her for that.." Bonne emphasized before sipping out of her water. With a faint smile, I watched as she cleaned her stained mouth with a serviette.

"So..how is it with you and Derek?" Bonnie asked, settling and adjusting herself on her chair.

"We're good..just, you know, happy for our parents and anticipating their wedding date as well. We also planned on giving them a gift,"

"Awwnn! That's so lovely.." Bonnie exclaimed with a bright smile.

"That just reminds me, I never knew Derek could play the piano. He was so amazing at it. Even Mr Finn had to see him privately.. Tell me, what other things is he good at?" Bonnie asked with a wink.

A soft smile tugged my lips; she was acting so silly.

"Derek is technically good at everything. He is good at sports, he can sing, he's so good at cooking…that one is a hundred percent. I wish you could taste his cookings,"

"Really?" Bonnie asked with wide eyes.

"Yes.." I answered happily, feeling proud to have someone like him as a mate.

"You're so lucky, Isabel. What food has he prepared for you? Have you started learning how to cook already? Is he aware that you can't cook?"

Bonnie asked all at once with raised curious eyes.

"Yeah.. he's aware that I'm bad when it comes to cooking but I've been learning from him these days and I'll admit it, I've really enjoyed cooking. He made pancakes, burritos, steaks, french toasts and different meals. I could stop biting my lips after tasting his foods,"

I explained to Bonnie whose lips curved into a wild smile as she listened with keen attention.

"He cooks for my mom and she loves his meals."

"You'd better learn how to cook from him, Isabel. You're lucky you have someone as unique as him as a mate.." Bonnie snapped with pouty lips, giving me a disappointed stare.

"I will .. I will.." I replied, smiling sheepishly with my eyes narrowing..

"Tell me more! Tell me more! His favorite color, food, movie, object, anything! Just anything!".. Bonnie exclaimed anxiously, her eyes glinting happily.

"Wooah! You really wanna know much about Derek!" I mumbled and chortled.

"What Derek? Do you mean Derek in our class? Are you acquainted with him?" A cold voice grabbed both of our attention and we turned to look at the person. My eyes met with Maria, one of those rude girls in class. Oh no… did she just hear us speaking about Derek.

"Tell me what you know about Derek.." She inquired with furrowed brows and a stern gaze. She dragged a seat and sat in front of us, her gaze flicking between Bonnie and me.

Oh! no...What's she up to? What does she want to hear?
