Chapter 48 - An unexpected guest

Watching my mom walk gracefully down that aisle was the happiest moment for me. Seeing her happy was enough to make me happy as well.. The smile on her face was contagious and the white veil on her face wasn't enough to conceal her beauty. Her lips glowed red under that veil and her shapes as well as curves were still intact in that stunning white bridal dress.

Mr Walton smiled sweetly as he stared at her; He watched her catwalk effortlessly down that aisle and he held out his hands, anticipating her presence around him.

When my mom got to his front, the priest flicked his gaze between her and Mr Walton, a soft smile tugging his thin lips.

My mom and Mr Walton read their vows, grinning from ear to ear as they stared into each other's faces. The priest united them together and my dad proceeded with wearing a ring on my mom's long fingers.

"And now, I pronounce you man and wife…" The priest announced and without hesitating, Mr Walton leaned forward and removed my mom's veil slowly. With his eyes trailing over her features, he leaned forward and claimed her lips in his.

He grasped her neck and kissed her slowly at first and then with rising passion. My mom placed her hands on his back and maintained her position, trying to keep up with the paces of his kisses. My eyes met with Derek and I bit my lips, not knowing how to feel at the moment. I remembered he was always keen on stopping the wedding by informing them that we're mates. My efforts to stop him paid off and I'm glad to see my mom finally achieving her dreams of getting remarried.

I clasped my hands over my mouth, feeling so emotional and excited to watch them finally get married.. Their kiss continued; It was such a long one. They kissed like lovers who had been separated for a long time.

"Hey!". A voice whispered from behind me and I was jerked suddenly to my surprise. My eyes widened as I rotated my neck, wanting to see who it was that made me jerked abruptly.

To my surprise it was Bonnie and I couldn't help but be more amused as well as relieved. She showed up like she had promised. We both embraced each other warmly, feeling happy to see each other once again.

After releasing ourselves from our hug, Bonnie stroked my hair and cupped my cheeks.

With a smile, she said, "You look stunning, Isabel.. Your mom is gorgeous as well.. I'm so happy for her,"

"Thanks Bonnie," I replied with a grin, my face blushing as a result of her compliment. She grasped my hand and flashed me a serious gaze and I gulped down the lump in my throat, wondering what it was she had to say to me.

"Now that your mom is finally married to Mr Walton, what are your plans?" She inquired, her eyes searching my face. I went speechless as I took in a deep breath; I wasn't expecting her question at that moment. At least not now when we're still celebrating the wedding festivities. I didn't want to think about anything else except my mom's happiness…

"Isabel," Bonnie called, her voice above a whisper but it was laced with rich concern. Her face was imprinted with worry and her stares bore into my body like it could leave holes behind on my skin.

Her snappy voice jolted me out of my daydream and I looked up to face her with wide eyes.

"I'm asking what your plans are now that your mom is married to Mr Walton. Will you and Derek now reveal the fact that you're mates to them? Or will you still continue to keep it a secret from them?"

Bonnie's question had me pondering and I had no idea what to say or the response to give.. Should Derek and I inform our parents that they're finally married? Maybe we should wait for some months before attempting to do that . It won't be wise if we give them such news after they've just recently gotten married.

"I think we'll have to inform them after a few months.. it'll be best if we keep still continue to keep it as a secret,"

I gave Bonnie my reply and she nodded slightly before biting my lips.

"I think that should be okay… I just hope it won't cause any issues and I hope things will go as planned.." Bonnie stated, a little hint of worry and fear imprinted on her features.

I just don't want to wrap my thoughts around everything that would happen after everyone finds out that we're mates…

Gosh! I wish that day will never exist and at the same time I wish it badly exists.

I'm as confused as hell at the moment.

"Your mom and Mr Walton will be having their honeymoon.. I doubt if they'll be able to spend their wedding night at your family home.. Will you and Derek be staying alone all through the night?" Bonnie Inquired and I glanced over to look at Derek whose eyes were on our parents. They were now receiving greetings and nice comments from well-wishers and I could see so many bunches of flowers in my mom's hands.

I shifted my gaze back at Bonnie and with a shrug, I replied, " I have no idea…We didn't even discuss how we're going to plan ourselves after the wedding. I'm very certain my parents won't be staying at home tonight, maybe, Derek and I will be staying alone or we'd probably rent a hotel.."

"Are you sure about that?" Bonnie asked with raised brows as she took two glasses of drinks from the tray of a waiter who was passing by.

She handed one of the glasses to me and I grabbed it without hesitating. After letting out a deep breath, I gulped down the drink at a goal before directing my gaze back at Bonnie.

"Any how it goes…Just keep me updated," Bonnie said and I nodded before glancing around at everyone's faces at the hall.

Bonnie's eyes widened as she grasped my shoulder and I creased my brows as I wondered what she saw that made her act that way.

"Isabel… did you invite any of our classmates to your mom's wedding?" She asked with a dropped jaw and my eyes went round as I shook my head In response to her question. I hope she didn't mean to say that one of them is here or probably a group of them.

Gerald is here, Isabel…." Bonnie disclosed to my dismay and I peered around to look for him. Gerald is the head of all bullies..I remembered he was the one who tried to joke around with me by seizing my diary.. He can be annoying as well as troublesome.

"Please don't tell me it's real, Bonnie," my lips quivered as I asked, my eyes still darting around for a trace of him.

"I'm sorry but it's real, Isabel. He showed up and he's indeed here ," Bonnie added further as she grabbed my head and turned it to his direction. My eyes popped out slowly and my jaw dropped along with raised brows.

How on earth did he get to know about my mom's wedding? I'm sure I didn't invite him.. is he alone or is he in groups? Does he know my mom and Mr Walton? If he finds out Derek and I are step-siblings, what is he gonna do? Will he inform the whole school?

This is the worst thing that can ever happen to me.. I hope he hasn't seen me yet.
