Chapter 2 - Arrival on Earth (continued)…

As Lucifer nursed his drink—an intense mix of absinthe and a touch of dark magic—he started to pick up on the presence of others like him. These were powerful entities who commanded the supernatural scene in the city, and they were definitely on guard around him. After all, Lucifer's reputation was well-known, and not many were keen to cross paths with the Fallen One.

Then, out from the shadows came a tall, impressive figure. His skin gleamed like dark marble, and his eyes flickered with an inner fire. This guy was a high-ranking demon, one who'd been ruling the underworld for centuries.

"Lucifer Morningstar," the demon boomed, his voice reminiscent of thunder. "I see you're still drawn to the mortal realm like a moth to a flame. What brings you to our city?"

Lucifer met his gaze, a spark of challenge igniting between them. "I'm just passing through," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "But I might stick around if this city proves to be... entertaining."

The demon's eyes narrowed. "You'll find our city... complicated. Some won't take kindly to your presence. I suggest you tread carefully, Lucifer."

Lucifer smirked, amusement dancing in his eyes. "I always tread carefully... at least at first. But let's just say my patience runs thin in the face of... obstacles."

The demon's expression darkened, and for a second, it felt like the air itself was on the verge of igniting from the tension between them. But then he nodded curtly and melted into the crowd, leaving Lucifer to mull over the warning.

As the night went on, Lucifer ran into more barriers—subtle hints and blatant messages that he wasn't welcome. A group of vampires, led by a stunning yet lethal woman, made it clear that they wouldn't put up with any interference in their business. A coven of witches, their powers interwoven like an intricate spell, cautioned him to steer clear of their territory.

Still, Lucifer wasn't about to be fazed. He was the Fallen One, after all, and he wouldn't be derailed by the trivial disputes of lesser beings. His quest for the perfect bride would press on, no matter what got in his way.

When the night finally wound down, Lucifer stepped into the cool air, feeling the city's magic swirl around him like it had a life of its own. He sensed that he had eyes on him—unseen observers tracking his every move. Grinning to himself, he slipped into the shadows, ready to take on whatever challenges awaited.
