Chapter 41 - 41

Vincent Academy – After School

POV: Third Person

The school gates were just beginning to fill with students as the day ended. Sunlight washed over the courtyard as cars lined up along the street. But one black sports car stood out.

James Anderson leaned against it, casual in posture — but his eyes were fixed on Oliver.

The moment Oliver stepped out of the building, James straightened, gave a lazy smirk, and called out.

James:

"Hope I'm not too early, angel."

Oliver flushed a little, clearly nervous.

But before he could answer, Sam was already between them.

His posture was stiff. His eyes sharp.

Sam (coldly):

"If you hurt him… even once… I'll kill you."

James raised both hands, lips twitching.

James (unbothered):

"Relax, Sam. I'm not planning on breaking his heart."

Sam (low, dangerous):

"You won't get the chance."

Oliver:

"Sam…"

Sam's eyes softened only slightly when he looked at Oliver.

Then he stepped back, shoulders tense, and watched them get into the car. The moment the door shut behind Oliver, Sam turned and walked away — jaw clenched.

💬 Scene: Triplets + Noah (Moments Later)

As Sam reached the front lawn again, Max, Silas, and Noah were waiting by the fountain.

Noah (quietly):

"He's protective. I like that."

Sam ignored him.

Silas (mocking):

"You act like you're not jealous."

Sam (flat):

"I'm not."

Noah (soft grin):

"So you wouldn't mind a little group date then?"

Sam stopped.

Sam:

"What?"

Noah:

"All of us. You, Max, Silas… me… Lucien said he's free tonight."

Sam (firm):

"No."

Max (arms crossed):

"Sam—"

Sam:

"I said no. It's a stupid idea."

Silas (leaning forward, tone light but sharp):

"Come on, brother. One dinner. We're just trying to get to know each other."

Sam (growling):

"We already know each other."

Silas:

"Do we?"

That hit hard — and they all felt it.

Sam stared at him for a long second, and for a moment, something panicked flickered in his eyes.

Max (gently):

"Sam. Please."

Noah didn't say a word. He just stood there, watching, quiet and waiting.

Finally, Sam sighed and looked away.

Sam (gritting his teeth):

"Fine. One dinner. That's it."

Silas, behind his casual smile, was watching every move Sam made.

He'd agreed — but Silas knew Sam was still hiding something.

And tonight?

He planned to find out exactly what.
