Chapter 192: The Five-Tails Beast
The Umino troops were shocked to see Samehada swallow the Tailed Beast Bomb in one gulp. They also appreciated Sasuke's strength anew.
Noticing that the crisis was over, Shun's three-tomoe Sharingan disappeared. The moment the three tomoe fused into one was just a fleeting instant, not fully forming. However, even so, Shun's Yin Style abilities increased drastically, especially in his illusion techniques, which went up at least one level.
"The Samehada sword is so powerful! How did the captain steal it from Fuguki?" Ryo wondered. As the eldest son of the Inuzuka clan, he was an expert in gathering information. The Mist's Ninja Sword was famous, and although he was familiar with these swords, he had never heard of Samehada having such terrifying abilities.
Apparently, Fuguki had never fed Samehada enough, as he had used it as a tool. Even Kisame failed to feed it enough, until he met Killer B, the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki, and it fully blossomed.
Now, with Sasuke, although he lacked the chakra of a Jinchuriki, he possessed an inexhaustible source of food energy that Samehada particularly enjoyed. Over half a year, the sword had gained considerable weight. Now, it was less a sword and more a plump ball with a hilt. Its intelligence was evolving towards that of a first-class summoning beast.
"Samehada, store this Yin-Yang chakra."
The restorative power of this chakra was extraordinary. A small burst of energy returned him to his optimal state. Naturally, such valuable energy needed to be stored.
Sasuke watched with fervor the Five-Tails Beast wreaking havoc below the mountain. It was not a beast, but a huge energy depot. However, he did not lose his head. Samehada could swallow small Tailed Beast Bombs, but it was unable to handle large ones.
Seeing Iwagakure's main army retreating to the right, Sasuke led his troops down the mountain in pursuit. He was not looking to annihilate them, but to contain them and buy time for Konoha's main army to chase them.
"Shirotaka, let's lure the Five-Tails Beast here."
Sasuke, mounted on his hawk, soared through the sky towards the beast. By then, the Five-Tails had lost its sense of friend and foe, slaughtering every ninja in its path. It resembled a white gnu, and it attacked mainly by running and charging.
Facing the swift tailed beast, the Sannin and their summons were no match. Jiraiya had briefly trapped it with the Swamp of the Underworld, but he did not take the opportunity to seal it. Orochimaru had also used the Ten Thousand Snakes Formation, but the Five-Tails' Boil Style considerably countered this jutsu. However, Tsunade's extraordinary strength proved effective.
Iwagakure's main group had experience in dealing with the beast, repeatedly using Earth Style to alter the terrain and block its charges. The Five-Tails Beast considered unleashing the Great Tailed Beast Bomb, but the Sannin and the Iwa ninjas did not give it time to prepare. After being repeatedly interrupted, it abandoned the idea and continued to wreak havoc.
Seeing that a small number of the main Iwagakure ninjas had already slipped through the gap on the right flank, Sasuke, mounted on Shirotaka, finally reached the sky above the Five-Tails Beast. By then, he had already activated his Three-Headed, Six-Armed technique, intending to guide the beast towards Iwa's main army.
His six arms prepared. He launched a sealing scroll towards the Five-Tails, releasing a blast of liquid nitrogen.
"Ice Style: Twin Dragon Bullet Jutsu!"
Instantly, two ice dragons collected the liquid nitrogen and descended on the beast. A torrent of boiling steam erupted from the Five-Tails, rapidly fusing the two dragons within it. Although they did not cause significant damage, some of the nitrogen flowed into its body. Where the nitrogen eroded, even chakra could freeze. It was not until it unleashed its boiling escape technique, causing the frozen chakra and flesh to explode from its body, that it felt the pain that penetrated deep into its bones.
"Roar!"
The Five-Tails Beast roared, resonating through the heavens and earth, at the culprit in the air. Sasuke's attack had inflicted maximum hatred. Meanwhile, Shirotaka carried him in its arms, speeding past, flying over Iwagakure's main body.
