Chapter 218: Tailed Beast Bombs
"It's Lady Mito!"
"We're finally saved."
The cries of hope from the Konoha ninjas rose and fell, spreading rapidly.
"Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, Uzumaki Mito!"
High in the sky, inside the main control room of the Angkor Fortress, the commander stared fixedly at the tiny but terrifying figure in the projection. "If we can capture the Nine-Tails and use it as a power core, we will dominate the ninja world." His face was filled with a scientist's paranoia and greed. His true objective was not revenge, but to capture the beast.
"Concentrate fire! Target: Uzumaki Mito!" he barked a series of orders.
The fortress's numerous chakra cannons aimed. Boom! Dozens of crimson chakra beams, as dense and violent as molten lava, impacted like pillars of a huge Rasengan.
"Secret Technique: Heavenly Candy Barrier!"
Sasuke concentrated his Water Syrup Barrier to try and block the beams, but the combined attack was too much. After blocking only a few, the barrier broke.
Mito's body was now enveloped in a scarlet chakra shroud. Seven enormous fox tails, composed of pure chakra, transformed into seven huge hands, tearing through the air and easily blocking the rest of the beams, although the ground beneath her feet cracked under the pressure.
"Nine-Tails!" Danzo murmured, unconsciously clenching his hands, his eyes reflecting a mixture of fear and greed.
"Kagura's Mind's Eye!"
Mito's gaze seemed to pierce through space, precisely fixing on the interior of the Angkor Fortress. She perceived the terrifying energy surges spreading through the core, energizing enough to destroy most of Konoha.
"Target locked, main fire!" the commander shouted, pressing the fire button.
The fortress's frontal armor split open, revealing a dark blue cannon muzzle. A huge beam of light, tens of meters in diameter, roared with a deafening sound.
Sasuke ordered Shirotaka to retreat. Faced with such a terrifying force, even his syrup wall was useless.
"It's over!" an overwhelming despair flooded the hearts of all Konoha ninjas.
Faced with this devastating blow, Mito spread her arms. The Nine-Tails' chakra converged towards her raised hands. Then, an ink-black energy ball, seemingly capable of absorbing even light, materialized from nothing. The surrounding space violently distorted. The black sphere rapidly expanded, floating over her palms, a crimson energy ball over ten meters in diameter, which emitted an aura of destruction.
"Tailed Beast Bomb!"
The seven fox-tailed palms fiercely lunged at the main cannon's beam. The two supreme energies collided hundreds of meters above the village. Time seemed to freeze. There was no devastating explosion, only an intense light that blinded everyone, followed by silent annihilation. The two energies devoured each other, forming a terrifying vortex over a hundred meters in diameter.
"Tailed Beast Bomb!"
Mito condensed another and continued attacking. The fortress could only maintain its energy shield, but it, under the relentless bombardment, withstood less than half a second before shattering. The Tailed Beast Bomb exploded with it, destroying the fortress with a devastating force.
Inside the control room, a cacophony of alarms blared, and the commander's body violently staggered, impacting the console. Just as the shield shattered, "Water Style: Water Cutting Wave!"
Using his radar, Sasuke captured the commander's exact location. A high-pressure water line extended hundreds of meters, piercing the control room's wall and hitting him in the heart.
