Chapter 223: The Victory of Lightning
"Kumo ninjas, were you the ones who instigated the Hidden Valley Village to invade Konoha?" Sasuke said first, directly blaming them. It was unlikely that the Hidden Valley Village had acted alone; Kumo was undoubtedly involved, as they had arrived too quickly, with the clear intention of taking advantage of the situation.
"Konoha's ironclad defenses are just a misunderstanding," replied Dodai, an exceptional strategist and assistant to the Third Raikage. He was incredibly cunning and immediately denied the claims, blaming Konoha and delving into the historical connection between the Fire and Lightning villages.
"Dodai, stop wasting time!" A, the Third Raikage's son, interrupted. "Start fighting! They're about to snatch the treasures from us."
Hearing these words, the Konoha forces drew their swords, and a fierce battle was imminent. Sasuke, however, maintained a mocking smile. If they managed to capture the Kumo ninjas, they could claim they were behind the invasion and thus severely weaken the Hidden Cloud Village.
"The rules of the ninja world are that the strong own everything," A said, his body radiating Lightning Style chakra. "You and I will fight, and the victor will take the legacy of the Hidden Sky Village."
"Haha!" Sasuke scoffed. "The legacy is already Konoha's trophy. If you want to fight, shouldn't you offer something else?"
Without a second thought, A charged forward. "Thunder Fury Axe!"
"Monstrous Strength!" Umino Sasuke unleashed a punch, hitting A squarely in the calf. With a dull thud, the future Fourth Raikage was instantly sent flying. It was only a test attack; Sasuke had not used the Aggravated Rock Technique.
"What? Did he really surpass A in strength?" Dodai's face darkened with surprise. In terms of strength alone, A was no match for this Konoha warrior.
"That Kumo kid dares to challenge our Sasuke-sama. He's simply overestimating himself," Sasuke's troops murmured, with absolute confidence in their commander's prowess.
"The Raikage's successor is nothing more than that," Sasuke said, feigning indifference. Since he mastered the secret bone marrow technique, his power had undergone a drastic transformation.
"Damn it!" A exclaimed, furious, and unleashed his most powerful Lightning Style Armor. "Heavy Flow!" he charged forward, concentrating chakra on his elbow.
Dodai felt a pang of fear. A was too young and easily lost his composure. Engaging in a power struggle with the enemy was an unwise decision.
"Water Style: Water Candy Wall!"
Sasuke had no intention of continuing the strength competition. He quickly formed hand seals, and a spherical wall materialized before him. With a dull thud, A's elbow left a huge dent in the wall. Luckily, Sasuke had anticipated it and easily blocked the blow.
"Got you!" he thought. He knew A's speed and took advantage of his carelessness, allowing him to sink deep into the wall to subdue him.
"Not good!" Dodai's face paled. He ran to help him, but it was already too late. Shun, Duy, and the others blocked his path.
