Chapter 3 - chapter 3: the aftermath

Leo stood amidst the ruins of his village, his heart heavy with grief and anger. He gazed upon his parents' lifeless bodies, feeling a deep sense of loss and helplessness. The demon's sudden departure had left him shaken, but also determined to find a way to avenge his parents' death.

As he stood there, Leo's mind replayed the moments leading up to this tragedy. He remembered the demon's arrival, its malicious gaze, and the voice that echoed in its mind. The voice that had saved his life, but ultimately couldn't save his parents.

Leo's eyes welled up with tears as he knelt beside his parents' bodies. He gently closed their eyes, trying to process the reality of his loss. The silence was deafening, punctuated only by the distant sounds of destruction and chaos.

As he mourned, Leo began to feel a strange sensation within him. It was as if his elemental affinity was stirring, responding to his emotions and fueling his determination. He raised his hands, and to his surprise, a gentle breeze blew through the village, carrying with it the scent of blooming flowers.

Leo's eyes widened in amazement as he realized that he was controlling the elements. He felt a surge of excitement and hope, knowing that this newfound power could be the key to his revenge.

With a newfound sense of purpose, Leo set out to understand and develop his powers. He began to experiment with his elemental control, summoning small gusts of wind and manipulating the flames that had engulfed parts of the village.

As he practiced, Leo felt his emotions shift from grief to determination. He knew that he had a long way to go, but he was resolute in his pursuit of power and revenge.

The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the ruined village. Leo's stomach growled, reminding him that he hadn't eaten since morning. He rummaged through the rubble, searching for any food or supplies that might have been left behind.

As he searched, Leo stumbled upon a small, intact storage room. Inside, he found a few bags of dried food, a water skin, and a small first-aid kit. He ate a simple meal, drank some water, and tended to his wounds.

As night fell, Leo sat beside his parents' bodies, his eyes fixed on the stars. He felt a sense of loneliness wash over him, but he knew that he couldn't give in to despair. He had to keep moving forward, no matter what.

With a deep breath, Leo stood up, his eyes blazing with determination. He would avenge his parents' death, no matter the cost. He would become strong enough to take on the demons, and he would make them pay for what they had done.

As he walked away from the village, Leo felt a sense of purpose that he had never felt before. He knew that his journey would be long and difficult, but he was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

The darkness seemed to swallow him whole, but Leo's heart remained lit with a fierce resolve. He would not rest until justice was served, and the demons were brought to their knees. The journey ahead would be treacherous, but Leo was prepared to face it head-on.
